I nabbed BL2, its really fun.
Fav part of the original? I would have to say either Sledges Safehouse OR the... hmmm... the very beginning. I had so much fun just existing in the world, killing things and nabbing sweet guns.
My favourite part was in the DAHL headlands, either the massive mine that introduced the Eridian's or SkagZilla, I also missed the hours of farming loot in new haven. NOT ENOUGH LOOT IN BORDERLANDS 2 !!!
Skagzilla was fun. I just came back time to time just to kill him for kicks. So many Zilla runs :D
Never forget Crawmerax the invincible from the general knox DLC. Most memorable mission "You. Will. Die." and in Borderlands 2 "You. Will Die.(seriously)"
