Legendairy is the new Game of the Year, but regardless of what they call it this is good to see. I have the base game and when I exhaust its content will be picking up the DLC or the Legendairy Edition, whichever makes the most sense price wise.

CapnCurry: Welp, there's another chink in my not-upgrading-my-computer wall. My PC handles everything I throw at it with *reasonable" aplomb. But it handles Skyrim like Smart cars handle freeways: good enough to get you there, but you never lose sight of how inadequate your vessel is.

Sadly, I'm a video card away from Skyrim goodness. Which, in turn, is a power supply away. Which is a case away, which is a motherboard away, which is aw hell that's a new computer.

My resolve, it weakens.

jdodson: I have a new PC as of a year or two ago and it runs things very well. Skyrim on full settings with the HD pack is playable but I get a few less FPS than normal. Haven't had any troubles on any other games at all save Diablo III where you go underground and they have all the water effects. I am running on a GTX 400 card that came stock with the Desktop and it works really well. Coolest thing about all that is the GTX 400 is rather low end now so just buying a new desktop PC with horsepower will most likely get your something better than that. :D

BR: I just purchased the dragonborn expansion and was playing it when the soundtrack came on for morrowind/solstheim. This is the first time I've stopped and listened to the music over playing the game cause it was so amazing. The new music to accompany the expansion is absolutely astonishing.

jdodson: I hope they release the new music in some fashion. Thanks for letting me know, I didn't know the expansions contained new tracks!

BR: There are 4 new tracks and they brought a lot of music from morrowind into skyrim.

Gary_Butterfield: I bought the other DLC for Skyrim but haven't brought myself to get far enough to get them to proc. I played so much of that game when it came out, the thought of even getting to level 10 to unlock the vampire lord stuff is a little repugnant. I guess I should have kept my old save.

BR: Thank god its an expansion and not another crappy dlc. Hopefully it'll be something like the shivering isle in Oblivion. That would be amazing. A whole new continent to explore would be nice.

jdodson: Yeah it would be. I hope some more details surface over the next few days.

jdodson: @Gary: You should be able to do anything in open world games on day 1. Well maybe day 2, but you get the point. :D

Jacob_Richardson: I agree with that. If Morrowind did one thing exceptionally right. It was immediately dumping you off the boat and into the game to do whatever it is you want to do. Doing Skyrim's beginning for every character is a bit annoying. I remember using a mod in Oblivion that also got rid of the beginning.

jdodson: I have to admit when I heard about this meme I got it but I didn't get the mad amount of humor people put into it.

After a week or so it got funnier and now its just kind of interesting. I think the history and what people did with it was pretty cool as well.

Travis: The thing is, after you hear it enough times in Skyrim it's hilarious. It makes sense that it broke out into internet culture and 14-year-old girls who had no interest in Skyrim were saying it.

But it got old *FAST* and died pretty quickly.

WhiteboySlim: I'm a huge hoarder in games. One of my complaints about games like Oblivion or Fallout is that I have a limit on how much stuff I can carry. I CAN'T loot every corpse and it kind of bothers me lol.

In Borderlands 2 I always open everything, but that's mainly to look for Eridium rather than ammo.

jdodson: It's fun when I hit triple Eridium at Moxxi's. All my money down the slots.

The new Pirate DLC seems to introduce another tradable unit too. Wonder how that will work.

jdodson: Right the Pirates Booty introduces Seraph Crystals. No mention of what they do yet.

Travis: How profitable is slots? I've heard you should start playing slots early because it's just going to get more expensive, but I don't want to end up screwing myself out of all my cash.

Jacob_Richardson: Slots are not profitable. It is exactly the same as real life gambling your likely to lose 99% of our money. However in return you will end up with lots of eridium. Possibly some guns but that just depends on luck.

jdodson: Typically I find it to be a good win. Last game with my friends we scored a ton of Eridium and I find that after a 6k slot pull ill walk away with a few blue guns that are better than what I can find in the vending machines.

Perhaps I am lucky or something, I don't know... But I find it to be one of the best uses of in game money. I don't find the vending machines to have that great of gear compared to drops so in the first game I just hoarded it all.

Jacob_Richardson: It for sure is a good use of the money because there is nothing else to use it on. But it is not a winning venture. Even if you get a blue gun a lot of the times its a handgun which is usually still worth less then what you paid to spin the slots.

jdodson: I do get many handguns but I still find it fun. I just wish they had 4 machines, in co-op only two people can get on them at any one time.

jaelte: Oh yeah, I have serious hoarding issues in every game with an inventory I've played. It really bugs me when I have to leave stuff on the ground due to weight/space issues.

BR: Hmm, that's a hard one for me. The elder scrolls games and the fallout series are probably my favorite games besides mass effect. If I had to choose I'd probably say fallout 3 because I liked the story much better. Skyrim`s story was alright but didn't captivate me as much as fallout did.

Tungsten: VATS is awesome, and I hope it makes its way into other RPG's. That said, I connected a lot more with the characters and stories in Skyrim.

Jacob_Richardson: There used to be some rpg's back in the day that let you target body parts individually. It was a lot of fun. VATS was cool to see it in slow motion though.

Missile_Drop_Kick: Fallout all the way. I know we've talked about Skyrim in person (face to face). I never went on a wild killing spree in Fallout because I was bored. I did in Skyrim.

Will_Owens: I've never "gotten" an Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind. I tried to like Oblivion and Skyrim, but just didn't care at all. I'll try Skyrim again sometime since I bought it. It may be because I played Fallout and Fallout 2 as a younger man, but the setting seems infinitely more interesting than the normal fantasy stuff that's been around the block and back a hundred times. Maybe it's just easier for me to relate to a character that's living in the same world as me interacting with people as they would act after a disaster rather than with people who live like Nordic lumberjacks?

I have heard awesome stuff about Morrowind and I owned it A LONG time ago but it never played on my PC well so I gave it to a friend. That said, people speak highly of it and with it being so cheap and the mod communities continuing attention to it it is something I am going to get eventually.

Skyrim is good, but I don't know, something about it lends me to play it less than I did Fallout 3 so far. At some point I imagine ill play more of it, but with Borderlands 2, Doom 3 and now Minecraft(sort of late on this one) I have tons of stuff.

That said, I had some awesome moments with Skyrim and enjoy the world quite a bit, even though it might be a Nordic Lumber Dream! :D

Tungsten: I was the opposite. I put on the ultimate followers mod and had my own little band of do-gooders. It let me focus on support and healing, something that isn't as useful without 5 or 6 followers. I don't think I swung a sword the entire time (at least not after WhiteRun), but it was the most fun I'd had. Highly recommended.

Head over to SkyrimNexus and you'll see more mods than you could ever believe. Crazy stuff over there.

jdodson: Wow, this is quite a bit of interesting stuff. I prob won't get it at the PC drop but at some point I will. They added more to it than I thought they would.

Travis: You can talk to the steward or something, can't remember his title, to upgrade your house. I think there's a chest upstairs by default though.

As for werewolfing yourself, I never cared for the benefits. It's a fun novelty at first but I never used it after a few times.

jdodson: Ok. I can't seem to progress with the faction that can turne until I decide I want to. Wondering if in should take the jump for that story line alone.

Adym: I never found being a werewolf beneficial, other than ocassionally when I needed to run somewhere quickly (and didn't have a horse), or just maul a town. But I also didn't find the negatives to be a handicap.

It was an interesting storyline.

Travis: You can get through that quest line pretty quickly and then there is a way out.

Travis: And if you get Dawnguard, there's a way back in!

jdodson: Cool. Sounds like there isn't too much of a negative to being a Werewolf then.

Travis: Yeah, you don't get your sleep bonus on skillups, and people will tell you that you smell like a wet dog. That's about it.

jdodson: Hahaha, totally worth it. Wondering. Can you be a WW any other way?

Adym: Not that I'm aware of.

Travis: There's one sidequest where you can get an item that helps control when you can turn. I won't give any more info in case you want to avoid spoilers but you can search for it on the wikis if you are so inclined.

Travis: You can control it but you only get one per day. The item changes that.

jdodson: Oh sweet thanks. Good thing you don't switch on a full moon in town automagically.

Travis: Actually I think that coul be interesting. If they gave you more benefits to being a werewolf but one big drawback, like turning automatically on a full moon.

jdodson: Right. That would be.

jaelte: Yes. You can stash gear in your houses. Once you buy a house, you can also purchase upgrades for various rooms, which sometimes include weapon/armor racks for display purposes. Those are great when you have gear that looks cool/ridiculous that's no longer worth wearing.

Travis: The first house you get will almost definitely be Whiterun, and you only get one chest by default (if I recall correctly). You'll definitely want to purchase upgrades for it so you can segment things out into different containers.

Adym: With house upgrades you can smith and do alchemy (alchemize?) along with stashing your stuff. It's also handy for stashing a spouse.

Adym: I didn't read the previous comments thoroughly, but oh well :)
