Diablo III is an action role-playing game that takes place throughout the dark fantasy world of Sanctuary.

You play a hero who engages in fast-paced combat that tests your reflexes and rewards tactical decisions. As you slay hordes of monsters and challenging bosses, you grow in experience and ability, learning new skills and acquiring items of incredible power.

Blizzard has just updated their blog with the Barbarian changes.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6923460

More classes coming soon.

The one major thing to take away from this-- *nothing* is getting nerfed, and tons of things are getting buffed. The Barbarian is really the best well-rounded at the moment, so there are probably fewer things to do for this class than the others.

Stay tuned for the rest of the class updates!

Next blog about the 1.0.4 patch is out. It addresses the problems they've had with legendary items, and I must say their fixes look pretty awesome.

Anyone else want fire chains?angels and demons? Molten shielding?
Oh, and that axe at the end would make me consider a two-hander.

I know many players are looking to Blizzard to fix many of the problems Diablo 3 shipped with to make it a more fun experience. Today, Blizzard dropped some details on the upcoming 1.0.4 patch meant to address many of the issues plaguing players right now. I delved through the post and am bringing you the best bits from my perspective:

  • You will get your individual gold find and magic find in co-op games. They averaged the ability with your party which led to decreased drops when you played with friends compared to what you could get soloing.

  • They are lowering the health multiplier for monsters in co-op games. Hopefully this makes co-op games less brutal and more fun.

Any of you guys ever found the Development Hell level? Just a fun little easter egg I stumbled onto the other day.

As a conversation starter then, what are the best easter eggs you can think of? Did you find them yourself or did you use a guide?

Now that Diablo 3 has been out a little while I wanted to post a few thoughts I have about the game after beating it a few times. First off, its great and if you can get it I recommend you do as it did not disappoint. That said I did figure I would be playing it much longer than I did. I can't pen why I thought Diablo 3 would be all the game I needed for the rest of the year, but I did. I figured the replayability would be so high that I wouldn't put it down for 6 months. Thing is, that was me for a few weeks but after that my play time waned and I don't play it all too often anymore. I imagine ill poke around in it and occasionally put in more time but it started and... Read All

Bashiok, Blizzard community manager recently posted this on battle.net to address some peoples thoughts on the Diablo 3 endgame:

"We recognize that the item hunt is just not enough for a long-term sustainable end-game. There are still tons of people playing every day and week, and playing a lot, but eventually they're going to run out of stuff to do (if they haven't already). Killing enemies and finding items is a lot of fun, and we think we have a lot of the systems surrounding that right, or at least on the right path with a few corrections and tweaks. But honestly Diablo III is not World of Warcraft. We aren't going to be able to pump out tons of new systems and... Read All

The new Diablo 3 1.0.3 Patch dropped a few days ago. More details here:

A few items I felt interesting:

"Attack Speed bonus values on weapons and armor have been reduced by 50%"

Heard for quite sometime people should stack attack speed, I guess Blizz thought it was too overpowered.

"Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses"

Doh!

"The item quality of all components needed to craft the Staff of Herding, as well as the Staff of Herding itself, have been changed from Common to Legendary (i.e. their item names will appear... Read All

Recently panickedthumb and chowda helped me get to Whimsyshire. Whimsyshire being D3's version of Diablo 2's cow level. Grinding for the items took an evening of solid runs on items but after a few hours I had all the gear to craft the Staff of Warding. It was nice of panickedthumb to walk me through the parts he had done as it was my first time in a game grinding for certain loot drops. Not too bad but you should expect things not to drop more often than they do. Or said another way, it can get tedious. The payoff is well worth the time spent though.

Oh and the total amount of money it takes to get the normal Staff of Warding is 150k. 100k for Wirts Cowbell and 50k... Read All
