“If I knew that this game could have become so addictive, I would have become a lot more wary of it,” the man said in a statement. “I would not have bought it, or I would have left it until I was on holiday or until the New Year holidays.”

This case, should it go to trial, would be the first hearing regarding video game addiction seen by a Russian court. The result could set a legal precedent in the country as to whether players could sue developers for the psychological impact of their products

What do you think? Should this man get compensation for how awesome Fallout 4 is or should this man be on the hook solely?

Travis gives this an astounding "Must Play" on the Ghost Scale
This achieves something special, and it would be a shame to miss it.

Azurephile gives this a solid "Rad" on the Ghost Scale
This is fun, with very few issues, and is well worth your time.

My experience included:

  • S.P.E.C.I.A.L. point allocation uncertainty

  • Limited ammo and use of melee weapons

  • Crafting, settlement building, and looting everything

  • Realizing it’s not necessary to give companions Stimpaks

  • Radiant quests

  • Factions and having to choose sides

  • Issue/bug with one mission

  • Available choices in how to go about a quest and dialogue

  • Starting a new game to choose a different path

I was aware of Fallout 4 about the time when Bethesda showed it off at E3. I liked what they showed. Since I enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I was sure I'd enjoy 4, although I didn't get too excited about it. I did finally pre-order the game on Steam, but it... Read All

In this episode of the Cheerful Ghost Roundtable we get together to work our fears and thoughts on the upcoming Star Wars The Force Awakens. We also discuss what we are all playing which is mostly Fallout 4.

Come for the fun banter, stay for belt references along with WhiteboySlim and his hat.

As seemingly everyone in gaming is playing Fallout 4 I see more and more reviews of it, lets play videos and news about where Bethesda will take it post launch. One bit of Fallout trivia you might find interesting is that 12 million copies were sold on launch day alone! Hopefully the estimated $750 million in sales can cover the games budget and Bethesda can safely have enough left over to build each of the Fallout developers a working Mr Handy robot.

“We’re extremely proud of Todd Howard, Game Director at Bethesda Game Studios, and his experienced team of developers for their talent and dedication in creating this extraordinary game,” said Bethesda Softworks president... Read All

Last night I went to Best Buy to pickup my pre-order of Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void Collectors Edition and I also grabbed Fallout 4 on PC. If you have the chance to get a physical copy I recommend it as you can install the first 1/4th of the game off the DVD and it also comes with a very cool perk poster.

As I was installing Fallout 4 last night I played a couple Legacy of the Void missions. The starting missions for Legacy of the Void do a good job of bringing you back to the game, so if you've taken a break and have forgotten how to play you should be all set. After Fallout 4 installed I decided to head in and play and after my first two hours I can say that so... Read All

Fallout 4 is nearly upon us all and you may have been wondering about something very important. Like if the in-game robot butler Codsworth knows how to say your name? Bethesda has boasted Codsworth knows over 1,000 different names and someone at Reddit looked at the game files and the number isn't too far off at 922. Codsworth knows many names like Penelope and Timothy but also a few others like Fuckface, Han, Bastard, Bacon, Badass, DongJun, Furiosa, Indiana, Nasty, Orgasmo, Princess, Psycho, Queen, Ripley, Sexy & Zippy. Good thing they added Zippy.

Oh and yeah, Codsworth can say Jon. So yippie for that.

Here it is, the big one!

This one gives a lot of plot information that we haven't gotten before. It looks like everyone's speculations have been proven right, and a large portion of the main plot will revolve around The Institute (MIT, most likely) and their synthetic people.

Fallout 3 had a questline that introduced us to the Institute and we met a synth, and depending on our characters we helped or harmed their mission. A year or two later, people spotted some Bethesda employees taking pictures around Boston and assumed that Fallout 4 would heavily involve The Institute, and boy were they right!

It's a common sci-fi trope to have a new class of people who are... Read All

IGN posted a great video outlining the history of the Fallout series in a video you need to watch. The Fallout universe diverged from ours in a few significant ways and this video does a good job of outlining them, the most significant being the Fallout universes failure to invent the transistor. The transistor thing makes sense, unless you consider that the Fallout universe also has very complicated robots and then it breaks down. That said, the video is still fun and well worth checking out if you are going to be picking up Fallout 4 come launch day.

I like the new Fallout 4 trailer because it mixes a fun 60's song with live action and possible in game art. At least I hope some of that CG is game art, it would have the final game look incredible. Fallout 4 drops on November 10th and it would be a day one purchase for me if not for Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void. As much fun as shotgunning both games at once, I don't think I am up to try as it might make my brain explode.
