Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) Trailer

If you haven't seen Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, this trailer won't make sense to you, so go watch it, it's good. It's sequel now has a trailer, although the release date is October 7, 2022. It's a long way out, so this trailer comes as a surprise, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

I think it's interesting that Sony is exploring the Spider-Verse, which they introduced in Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer 2 is Awesome!

Check out the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home! It looks amazing! It gives us a clearer picture about what's going on. Peter has asked Dr. Strange if he could cast a spell to make the world forget that he is Spider-Man. If you saw the post-credits scent in Venom 2, then you could reasonably suspect Venom will make an appearance.

Yeah, Travis. The Brazilian trailer seems to make that clear. Someone was edited out. That scene where Spider-Man is jumping towards Sandman, Electro, and Lizard is where this is very clear. In it Lizard's head turns around like someone hit him. Spider-man wasn't even looking at him, he was more in the background, while Lizard was closer to the foreground. I thought it looked a bit odd, but I also watched a New Rockstars video where they pointed some of these things out. It'd be so awesome if the other two were there. This is definitely a must-see movie! I'm looking forward to it. Dr. Strange is one of my favorite characters. I want to know why Sanctum Sanctorum was frozen, too.

Yeah, New Rockstars had a video about the cube yesterday and I shared my thoughts with you. They also showed the "what's in the box" clip from Seven. You're right, it has to be Strange. Peter's too young for it probably. I loved the GameCube! At the time I actually had all three then-gen consoles, I still have them, I just don't have current gen.

Spider-Man & Doctor Strange Change Reality Into Something Fun In The First No Way Home Trailer!

I’ve been curious how the story of Spider-Man No Way Home would work with Doctor Strange and the multi-verse. After the first trailer dropped I’m no longer wondering how it will work I just want to watch the movie already.

Spider-Man & Doctor Strange will both try and alter reality this winter ONLY in theaters on December 17th.

OR IS HE MEPHISTO??? Lol, hear me out. Why was the Sanctum frozen? Could it be that the place would burn up in Mephisto's presence? Mephisto made a deal with Peter in the comics (I think it was about Peter's wife? I don't remember). Perhaps this is Peter, unknowingly, making a deal with the devil?

Finally!!! I think the green grenade (I'm sure that was what it was) confirms Green Goblin. That laugh sounds like the previous Green Goblin (the dad, not Harry, the son) from the Toby Maguire Spider-verse, which wouldn't be a surprise. We obviously see Doc Oc and we've been told that Electro is appearing, too.

I'm not sure about the theories Adam and Will_Ball suggested. I'm not sure why Strange would cast that spell either, which does seem a bit suspicious. It is odd that the Sanctum was frozen, maybe we'll get the answer to that, too.

That said, I am not sure they’d do the same thing they did in the last Spider-Man in the next Spider-Man? It’s possible he may be a more evil variant but that seems very similar to the last Spider-Man too.

Either way, should be a fun ride.

Here are some of my own theories. Buckle up.

Ok so what I think is happening here is that Doctor Strange got a note from Disney chair Alan Horn. The memo was essentially “DOC STRANGE PLEASE MESS UP TIME SUCH THAT WE CAN SELL MORE TOYS AND TIE IN MORE TV SHOWS” and I bet Doctor Strange said no. Then Alan Horn made the writers of No Way Home FREEZE OUT the Sanctum because we all know that Disney NEEDS A MCU Christmas movie and to make Doctor Strange cold such that he changes the timeline to be warm.

Ok so what I think happens next is that Green Goblin comes to the MCU from the Gameboy game but his bombs are green instead of the dot matrix pixel grey. Also, Toby Maguire is obviously in this because if you freeze on the last frame of the trailer where they advertise PS5 controllers in the upper right you can clearly see a white pixel. Since Toby McGuire is white this is clearly one pixel of him as Spider-Man.

Slashfilm had a good speculation that when Doctor Strange casts the spell, he also forgets who spider-man is. It would explain why in the trailer he seems to be fighting spider-man.

Then again, maybe spider-man wants out of the MCU so he can start his own universe and it angers Doctor Strange, so he fights him.

Yeah, but just because he's wearing a Spidey suit (and white I should add), doesn't mean he's Peter Parker.

Will_Ball that totally makes sense! When I watched the New Rockstars reaction, they didn't mention it, but seeing it for the second time, I thought, wouldn't Doctor Strange also forget him? So, that makes sense, though I'm kind of not sure why they'd still fight. Maybe they're not fighting, or if they are then there's definitely a reason.

I'm surprised they didn't show Electro, though I heard there was lightning in the original leaked trailer. I'm surprised that instead of Electro they teased Green Goblin. I also think it's interesting to see that Doctor Strange seems to have a major role in this. So, it seems Sony is adopting more of the MCU than I expected. I thought Doctor Strange was just going to make a brief cameo, but it looks like that assumption was wrong.

Ok, I need to point out an error on my part. There was lightning in the trailer, I didn't quite notice or pay attention to it until I watched the New Rockstars trailer breakdown. It appears there's some dust clouds, too, which might mean the return of the Sand Man. The Lizard appears to be there, too, though it's difficult to see him. While the actors have denied it, the fact that we're seeing Spider-Man villains from different universes kind of makes one wonder why couldn't other Spider-Mans appear as well? I have so many questions about this movie now, because of this trailer that I'm probably looking forward to it even more now, because I want to find out the answers.

As much as I'd prefer not to, I may just have to go to the theater to see these movies. Shang-Chi comes out next Friday (not this week, but next week).

It seems a lot of people didn't like that Spider-Man movie, I feel like one of the very few who did. Granted, I haven't seen it in many years and so my memories of it have faded, with few exceptions.

I think it was fine, but had a lot of cringey moments that pulled it down. You could tell Sony was interfering with Raimi’s vision for it so they could force venom into it

What Do You Want Peter? The New Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Shows The Post Endgame MCU

The new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer isn't new by any stretch but I decided to post it here after Avengers: Endgame has had more time at the box office because this new trailer contains more than a few Endgame spoilers. I'm not going to talk about the implications of the trailer here, but if you want to discuss all of that, let's have at it in the comments.

All that said, I wasn't sure if I was going to be interested in the MCU in a post Endgame world and it seems from this trailer, I am. I'm not sure if this is an opening night film, but something I will want to see in theaters for sure. What about you?

Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Hits Spoiling Avengers Endgame

The official teaser for Spider-Man: Far From Home dropped today spoiling Avengers Endgame... a bit. But then again did anyone think all of the snap was permanent? Looks like Spider-Man is back and this time IN EUROPE! Originally I thought Far From Home would be a story where Spider-Man was out there in space somewhere trying to get home. You know, a cosmic "road trip" movie but apparently it's Spider-Man in Europe. Which is... kind of neat but if you consider where he goes in Infinity War, Europe isn't really that far from his home. More like Spider-Man: At Least We're On Earth This Time So It's Cool.

E3 2018 Metal Jesus Edition

We covered quite a lot of E3 2018 discussion this year and with all of it I wasn't sure there was much more to learn. Metal Jesus was at this years E3 and he recorded a lot of it showcasing another side of E3 we didn't hear much about. Jesus and Kinsey first hit up a retro Japanese import store then head over to E3 to spend time with vendors selling retro gear such as RetreoN. I didn't know RetreoN was selling a new Atari remake and Jesus got a review unit so when he posts his review i'll share it. Jesus also hits up the Sony booth and it seems like he really likes the new Spider-Man game(not too surprising).

For All The Grub Eaters: Sony @ E3 2018

I don't own a PS4 and don't plan to buy one but I hold a special place in my heart for Sony as I was a happy PS3 owner until mine died a couple years ago. They seem to be doing a great job of collecting the hardcore console audience and the console exclusives seem interesting to fans. I watched the conference tonight and if you are interested in seeing what Sony is up to you should too. I'll drop some interesting bits of that conference below and if you have something I didn't note let me know in the comments.

Last of Us Part II: Holy shit Part II looks crazy insane violent. I didn't play the original but if I did this would be interesting. Honestly the game might be too violent for me, which is an odd thing to say but I am getting older and way less cool so there's that. I started watching the live stream while watching my son and I thought I would be able to watch all of it but when the video switches to Ellie stabbing a dude in the neck I had to finish it after he went to be.

Death Stranding: I have no idea what this is but it looks like a cool concept movie. The video featured a woman eating a grub which was neat but I prefer snacks like peanuts. Hideo Kojima fans are excited about this and I like the trailer I saw but the game doesn't look like something i'd play. Still, a woman ate a grub in the trailer so I bet that will push some units. Press X to eat grubs.

Spiderman: The game looks like a ton of fun. To say it looks like the most Spiderman version of Batman Arkham Knight possible isn't an insult because the game is doing it's own thing and seems to speed up gameplay quite a bit. I wonder how replay-ability is with a game that seems so corridor and story beat focused? It might just be the way the gameplay was cut, it might play out very differently in the end. Either way this game looks fun.

The Spider-Man continues to blow me away. I can’t wait. Based on what we’ve seen before I don’t think it’s going to be heavily corridor based like this gameplay trailer may suggest. There are some segments of the Arkham games that show off the awesome grappling hook and gliding action as well.

But at the same time it could be that they needed to restrict the world a bit to make the web swinging seem believable. I remember previous spider man games that didn’t require you to be anywhere near buildings but modern gamers might balk at that.

The Last of Us Part 2 looks so beautiful. And those situational combat tricks were surprising. I enjoyed the first one, I need to actually finish it.

Anothe standout for me might be Ghost of Tsushima. That game is gorgeous and if they can pull it off it will be something I can imagine tossing s lot of hours into. An open world samurai game? That’s just such a fresh idea.

Death Stranding, man... I get the idea that you can play that game all the way through and still not have any freakin clue what you just played. In terms of plot that is. It looks compelling but at the same time offputting depending on my mood.

Control looks pretty solid. Like a freaky sci-fi third-person action game. The powers they showed look pretty unique.

The Resident Evil 2 Remaster looks great so far. If you can even call it that. I guess Remake is a better term. The graphics are done so well, and it looks like some jump scares are in our future.

To me it felt like the Sony E3 presentation catered more to solo play experiences compared to the Microsoft E3 presentation. For that reason, I am probably more excited about what Sony is bringing to the table compared to Microsoft.
