You are Hierarch Artanis, leader of the mighty protoss race. Years ago, your homeworld of Aiur fell to the merciless zerg Swarm. Now, at long last, you have raised a powerful fleet of warships known as the Golden Armada, and are poised to reclaim your world. But an ancient evil—Amon—threatens this destiny and the fate of the entire galaxy. Only you can reunite the protoss factions and defeat the coming darkness before it consumes all life in the sector.

Blizzard has released a new 10 page comic called Sacrifice that catalogs Artanis and how he got his position as head of the Protoss for the upcoming game Legacy of the Void. Artanis is the new protagonist and Blizzard is doing much to introduce him as to date he hasn't, to my understanding, been in the game yet.

You can read the whole story below on the webpage or download the PDF.

Blizzard dropped a huge 3.0 patch to Starcraft 2 today. This brought a some new changes including an entire redesign of the user interface. It also preps current Starcraft 2 players to get all the files they will need for the expansion come launch day. Blizz has also now made the new Legacy of the Void prologue missions "Whispers of Oblivion" free for everyone. I just finished up the first mission and it was a frantic ride with the Protoss. The into cinematic and first prolog mission really set the stage for the upcoming campaign and if this mission is a taste of what we have in store for the main campaign, it will be great.

For all of you that only have Wings of... Read All

I've been waiting to pre-order Legacy of the Void until details of the Collectors Edition dropped and today was a good day. If you saw the Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls, Starcraft 2 or Heart of the Swarm Collectors Editions this is fits along side those. Featuring the base game, CD score, behind the scenes DVD & Bluray and field manual this version should round out my collectors set for the trilogy.

Blizzard has released a new video called "Reclamation" that goes into history of the Protoss as they get ready for the new Legacy of the Void game.... errrr as they get ready to invade the Zerg infested Auir. As with many things there is a completely coherent idea that war can be avoided and that the Protoss should find a new homeworld to avoid the massive loss of life that would result in an all out war with the Zerg. Good thing Artanis completely rational ideas are immediately discarded as if they went with it after you started the game you'd see Artanis hanging out on the current Protoss homeworld knocking back a cold one saying "good thing we didn't do that war... To keep with tradition, Blizzard has released the Starcraft II Legacy of the Void opening cinematic with the new November 10th launch date. The games launch is only a few short months away but Starcraft II LoTV will launch the same day as Fallout 4. It makes sense, release a few months before the holidays but I wonder how sales will be impacted with the competing with Fallout 4? On one had both games have wildly different audiences but on the other hand, i'll be buying both.

Starcraft II is a great game and comes with an amazing multiplayer mode that is fun to play with friends. That is if they know how to play Starcraft 2. One mode that is coming to Legacy of the Void looks incredible and might be something I play quite a bit of and might get some of my friends to play Starcraft 2 with me.

"In Allied Commanders, you play as one of the many heroic leaders in the StarCraft II universe. Each with an arsenal of various powers and abilities and a select group of unit types which you may use to compose your army. All of these tools make playing each commander a unique experience."

You should check the link below to see what each races commanders... Read All

It feels like Starcraft 2 released 5 years ago and because of that, I can't wait to wrap up the trilogy with the upcoming final protoss installment, Legacy of the Void. Blizzard is marking the launch of Starcraft 2 with a free in game portrait drop by simply opening the game from now till August 3rd. So you know, grab that portrait... for Aiur!

Blizzard will be launching a special three story mission set that will tie the SCII Heart of the Swarm to the upcoming expansion Legacy of the Void. It will eventually come out for free but to start will be released to people that pre-order Legacy of the Void. I REALLY hope Blizzard can handle Collectors Edition pre-orders as that's what I will be picking up and usually do that from a local store.

"Whispers of Oblivion is a special three-mission prologue series that has been created to bridge the storyline between Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void. In Whispers of Oblivion, players will join Zeratul for the first time since Wings of Liberty to unravel the final... Read All

Blizzard will be opening up the closed beta for Legacy of the Void starting on March 31st. They are adding some really bad-ass looking units starting with the Protoss Disruptor which looks totally over powered in the video. Blizzard is great at balancing so I imagine it won't be quite as destructive but if used properly? Blizzard also added the Cyclone a new unit to the Terrans which is a tank that locks on to an enemy unit and can fire while it moves. I can see the Cyclone being a very important part of Terran harassment in Legacy. Zerg multiplayer finally gets the Lurker back and Blizz added a new Ravager unit that can drop Protoss shields and attacks with a damage... Read All

PC Gamer has a good interview with Tim Morton about Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void. They talk about the new Archon mode as well as new game units such as the Zerg Lurker. They cover many of the details that were already discussed, but since it's fun to keep talking about Legacy of the Void and consume every bit of information it's fun watching interviews like this.

That said, Tim mentioned that they are going to launch the beta in the first half of 2015 and I image the game will come out some time thereafter. Here's to a speedy 2015 launch!
