Back this on Kickstarter!
"At Heart Forth, Alicia's core is an ode to the classics. Remember the electrifying gameplay of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the expansive worlds of the Zelda games, and the rich, engaging story of Xenogears? This game is crafted in the spirit of those great adventures of the '90s.

The story unfolds amidst the repercussions of centuries worth of struggle, strife, and bloodshed between cultures, races and worldviews. But above all else, it's an epic Metroidvania RPG that combines timeless 16- and 32-bit gameplay, modern mechanics, and a set of unique, intertwining stories to take you on a fantastic journey.
"

Heart Forth, Alicia not only is an awesome name but it also seems very focused on it's narrative, which seems really interesting. I am not sure if weaving live action video elements works in a video game but I am very intrigued to see it in action. Heart Forth, Alicia is a new game being published by Chucklefish, the creators of Starbound.

Heart Forth, Alicia is currently 1/3rd of the way to their funding goal and will launch on PC, Mac and Linux depending on what funding goals they reach.

Looks interesting. I'm with you on the live-action integration. It could be cool, if they can make it more seamless. Initially jarring to see that juxtaposition, at least in the trailer. I like the potential of it, though, and really do hope they can pull it off.

I do too and I agree with seeing it in the trailer being somewhat jarring. They are stylistically two different worlds and it's odd to go from the beautiful pixel-chunky ascetic to the real world. That said, I do plan on playing this when it drops so more will be known then.

I dig how this looks, but I gotta say, the narrator kinda took me out of the action a bit.

Was he a little too creepy for you? I kinda got that vibe. Like he may, or may not, have been petting a bald cat while he was speaking.

That's... exactly it yes. I couldn't put my finger on it but you explained it perfectly!

Ha yeah. They seem to have been going for elegant but yeah, seemed a bit off.

Oh and the game was funded!

Travis   Admin wrote on 04/18/2014 at 06:08pm

That was fast! They need to start working on stretch goals now.

They do and the first one should be a Linux build.
