Sheathe your sword, draw your deck, and get ready for Hearthstone - the fast paced strategy card game that's easy to learn and massively fun. Start a free game on Battle.net and play your cards to sling spells, summon creatures, and command the heroes of Warcraft in duels of epic strategy.

I've been saving up gold for the new Hearthstone expansion for a couple months now and after the recent Hearthstone Gadgetzan expansion dropped I was able to finally open them! I've never had better pack opening luck and snagged 7 legendaries! I didn't get a great common and rare distribution but I opened about 1 legendary for each 10 packs, which is incredible. It's a crazy pack opening ride followed up by playing new decks as I take down the Grimy Goons, Jade Lotus and Kabal quests one by one.

Curious to hear about what you opened and any new decks you are trying you've liked playing with?

File this Hearthstone Murloc Yule log video under "things that absolutely needed to happen." We've all seen the fireplace videos on Netflix and YouTube but what if they contained Murloc and the Murlocs sang holiday classic such as "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Away In a Manger" and "Deck The Halls." "But wait" you ask, is that all there is, just Murlocs sining around a fire, perhaps there's more?" Well yes Timmy there is more as the Murloc occasionally leave things in front of the fireplace. I don't want to spoil the entirety of the 53 minute video but they also drop off items in front of the hearth like cookies and swords.

But don't take my word for it Timmy,... Read All

Blizzard dropped the date of the upcoming Gadgetzan launch date in a recent game stream and amazingly enough, it's this Thursday! In the stream there were many cards revealed and afterward Blizzard made them available to see on Facebook. You can check out all the Gadgetzan cards on the Blizzard Facebook page or Reddit linked below.

I love that we are getting more Hearthstone cards and that the meta will be changing again, hopefully for the better. I've usually enjoyed each expansion theme and this one is the first I haven't really connected with. Never been into crime noir or gangster stuff and it seems so strange mixing that in a fantasy world. That said, the cards... Read All

The Hearthstone world championship finals ended this year at Blizzcon with a nail biting set of matches between Pavel and DrHippi. I don't want to spoil the ending but if you like awesome comebacks, these final matches will be something you need to watch.

There was a lot of news out of this years BlizzCon and the bit that was most interesting to me was next Hearthstone expansion Mean Streets of Gagetzan. As with the last expansion Whispers of the Old Gods, Gadgetzan is a 132 card expansion that looks to contain some really fun elements that should mix up the current meta.

"All in the Family: Each class belongs to one of the city's three factions. Your class cards and neutral minions all fall into that faction's theme. The affiliations are:

Grimy Goons: Hunter, Paladin, Warrior
Kabal: Mage, Priest, Warlock
Jade Lotus: Druid, Rogue, Shaman

Faction Specials: Aside from class affiliations, the three factions each have their own... Read All

After Amazon bought Twitch I was wondering what that had in store for Twitch as when a company is bought out it usually has a big effect on the child company. Today Amazon is launching Twitch Prime which is an extension of the Amazon Prime yearly service. Basically if you have Amazon Prime you get Twitch Prime included as part of the package, which is a nice bonus for Amazon Prime members. Twitch Prime gives you an exclusive ad free experience and every so often you get free games and exclusive in game items. For the launch of Twitch Prime you can get the free Hearthstone hero Tyrande Whisperwind free until November 5th. If you have Amazon Prime but don't care about... Read All

For quite some time Hearthstone players have noted that some cards are a bit overpowered. Chief among the cards most cited as massively overpowered are Yogg Saron, Tuskar Totemic and Call of the Wild. Blizzard seems to have agreed because today they dropped information about some upcoming balancing changes to the cards I cited. I never felt that Yogg or Call of the Wild were overpowered but I don't really mind the changes made to both cards. In the case of Call of the Wild Blizzard increased the mana cost to 9 still making it a very powerful late game card but it now competes with other Hunter cards like King Krush. One change I really liked is the nerf to Abusive... Read All

Today Blizzard released a new Hearthstone game update featuring the Welcome Bundle. The Welcome Bundle is $5 and can only be purchased once per account and contains 10 classic packs and one random class Legendary. This is a really good way for new players to pay a bit and get some cards for cheap. Most free to play games have this sort of starter pack and it's nice to see Hearthstone finally get one.

I am a pretty happy doing the Hearthstone free to play thing but I really wanted those packs and a shot at a cool Legendary so I dropped some Google Play credit I had from taking free surveys through the Google Opinion Rewards app. Am I still free to play because I haven't... Read All

jdodson gives this a solid "Rad" on the Ghost Scale
This is fun, with very few issues, and is well worth your time.

Last week the final wing of the new Hearthstone Adventure One Night in Karazhan was released wrapping up a full month of new cards. I like the way Blizzard launches Adventures in that they release one new wing of cards per week giving us a full month of new content. There have been a few complaints about the new adventure, the main one being that the campaign is way too easy. This is entirely accurate as I completed nearly each fight the first time. Even though the wings were easy I did enjoy the Adventure and have replayed quite a bit of it.

Each Hearthstone adventure is a bit of story mixed with with unique boss battles and new cards but for me the Adventures hang on... Read All

At this years Gamescom 2016 Video Games Live performed a cut from the Hearthstone score called "Pull Up a Chair." It was recorded in VR and you can watch the performance in 360 degree view on YouTube. Even if you don't have VR you can move the video around and watch the performance from any angle you can making for a really interesting experience.

If someone is able to watch this with some VR glasses i'd be interested in hearing how that turned out.
