Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is the brutal conclusion to the Hotline Miami saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution over spilled blood in the original game.

It's satire. And then starts things off with the conference presenter firing a gun in a crowded theater. Then they show a new game called Ruiner that looks neat. Then they show off a special innovation they are brining to gaming allowing people to throw money directly at the screen so they can take it. Then a guys arm is taken off and blood squirts everywhere and then things... devolve... to get even more weird. Which is great because this "press conference" is some A+ satire that I found both entertaining and also quite disturbing.

But you know, don't take my word for it, click to watch because I assure you that it amps up from there and the ending is quite the... Read All

Hotline Miami is a violently strange game about someone that gets phone calls from a person wanting you to commit massacres against the local Russian Mafia. The game is similar to early GTA games but differs in that you die more and everything is way more bloody. If you loved the game and want a special collectors edition version Devolver Digital has just launched something you might love. Not sure if i'll pick this up but it might look neat next to my Starcraft II Battlechests.

"HOTLINE MIAMI and HOTLINE MIAMI 2:WRONG NUMBER on DVD (you'll also get Steam codes for each game) along with a cassette tape containing highlights from the soundtrack, a pack of five Cameo... Read All

The release date of Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will be March 10th. I've been waiting for this since I heard the news drop that we were getting a level editor out of PAX East last year. The above review video is of the first three levels of the game and they look like everything I loved about the original with some new goodness tossed in. I still head back to Hotline Miami and have a blast so the included difficultly modes seem like a welcome addition.

Mark your gaming calendars as Dennation Games will release Hotline Miami 2 on PC, Mac and Linux at launch on March 10th.

Back this on Kickstarter!
Hotline Miami is a great gam I loved every ultra-violent second of. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is currently in development and according to Dennation Games will come out sometime this year. With that, a new Kickstarter dropped today to fund a 12 inch collectable figure of Jacket, the main character of Hotline Miami.

Right now you need to buy it at $85 to get the Jacket Figurine + digital rewards. It's a really interesting Kickstarter and if you love the game, I recommend you check out the video.

"Hotline Miami is a high-octane action game overflowing with raw brutality, hard-boiled gun play and skull crushing close combat. Set in an alternative 1989 Miami, you will... Read All

Not a ton of great news out of E3(yet) but there has been some and this is definitely one of them. Hotline Miami 2 will ship with a pretty fully featured level editor. In a E3 developer Q&A the Dennation Games folks mentioned that they are working on Steam cloud sync for our levels making it easy for us to all share our creations.

I am not a huge Team Fortress 2 fan, but this mashup trailer of the Hotline Miami universe with the Team Fortress 2 universe is pretty epic.

That said, it is also pretty violent so be forewarned.

Compare it to the original Hotline Miami 2 trailer:

If you were worried about the follow up to Dennation Games super-hit, Hotline Miami wouldn't be awesomely violent, this preview video should set your mind at ease. Featuring the first two levels of the game, this mini review/story recap really shows off the new rad Hotline Miami brings to bear.

I consider Hotline Miami to be a nearly perfect game in terms of tone, story, music and game length. If Hotline Miami 2 just brings more of the awesome, it should be amazing.

Hotline Miami 2 will ship on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, PS3, and Vita sometime later this year.

Now that PAX East is upon us the flurry of Indie gaming news is starting. I was happy to see the new trailer drop for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Focusing more on many of the new gameplay elements the trailer really showcases the additions Dennation Games has added to the Hotline Miami formula.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will release this year on PC, Linux, Mac, PS3, PS4 and Vita.
