The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements. Following Isaac on his journey players will find bizarre treasures that change Isaac’s form giving him super human abilities and enabling him to fight off droves of mysterious creatures, discover secrets and fight his way to safety.

The Binding of Issac is a game I've been playing a lot lately (when I find time to play anything). It's a great pick-up-play-and-die quickly game. Similar to a casual game for me, because I don't generally get far lol. I've not worked through any endings of it yet, but definitely enjoy the game so far.

This video takes a great look at the endings (there are many) of the game, and has a ton of spoilers. Not something that affects my ability to still enjoy the game, but if you're enjoying playing through it and discovering the new characters and endings, this video isn't for you.

But it is deep, and good :)


A zillion Binding of Isaac fans might want my head on a pike for putting "fix the original" as the title of my post. Pray, I meant no offense and to me the original game is very special. That said, we all know the original game was written in flash and as such is a bit odd. Since I enjoy the game, I pull out the original to play on occasion and found that with Mac OS Mavericks the game is nearly unplayable. Couple that with no Steam Linux port for the original, I decided to plunge in to the new Isaac demake "The Binding of Isaac Rebirth."

Heading to the PS4, Vita and Steam November 4th The Binding of Isaac Rebirth is everyone's favoriate religious insanity rogue like SNES de-make. Getting a ton of new features including a form of local co-op, The Binding of Isaac Rebirth looks to be an interesting continuation of the original game that doesn't suffer from many of the core issues the original flash game suffered.

In a recent update, Edmund McMillen posted the following update about The Binding of Isaac Rebirth.

"the closer we get to release the less i want to spoil.. but i did promise you a video.. so here is the 1st vid of rebirth in its near final state. we are still tweaking things visually and the game is missing a few sound effects but this is basically what you will be getting on release."
