Nineteen years after the formation of the Empire, Luke Skywalker is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet of Tatooine. Obi-Wan begins Luke's Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of the evil Empire. Although Obi-Wan sacrifices himself in a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader, his former apprentice, Luke proves that the Force is with him by destroying the Empire's dreaded Death Star.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is coming to theaters December 20th and LucasFilm is in full hype mode. As part of that a brand new featurette is out that focuses on the relationships the cast has built up over 40 years as the series finally comes to an end. This short seems like it would be the kind of thing to hit the special features of a blu-ray release so it's fun to see it now.

A bit ago Lucasfilm released the "final trailer" for Rise of the Skywalker that wasn't quite final as they've released other trailers with a few seconds of extra footage and today this FIRST CLIP of the film. It's a 30 second action scene straight out of Rise of Skywalker and doesn't really give up much except that we have possible confirmation on the starting location of the film.

This is a huge spoiler but is 30 seconds cut right out of the film so if you don't want that spoiled don't click play. That said, if you are interested in discussing it do so in the comments.

Lucasfilm also revealed another few minute spot highlighting the legacy of Star Wars linked below.... Read All

The final trailer for The Rise of Skywalker is out, and we have some opinions about it! We talk about our thoughts and predictions for the Skywalker Saga finale, as well as what we've been playing and watching this past month.

The ā€œfinalā€ trailer for Episode IX is out now. I say ā€œfinalā€ in quotes because we will surely see more footage in TV spots and international variants.

But here we go, the last major US trailer, and we are about two months out from the filmā€™s release.

Tickets are available now, and Iā€™ve already got seats for the Friday of release.

Thereā€™s a lot to unpack here, but Iā€™ll get the discussion started with three things:

1. The scene of the new crew in the Falcon is something Iā€™ve been wanting since TFA.

2. That arrangement of the main theme was sublime.

3. Threepio, you ok?

So go forth, watch it, and tell us what you think!

At this years Disney D23 Expo Star Wars fans were treated to a special D23 panel on Rise of Skywalker along with a new trailer that just dropped. The trailer features a look back at all the Skywalker saga Star Wars films and some all new Rise of Skywalker footage. I urge you to watch it now because in the paragraph i'll be talking trailer spoilers.

Looks like Rey is featured heavily in this trailer and she looks to be a lightsaber wielding badass. Also. The Emperor has some new voice work and what sounds like a taste of Darth Vaders iconic breathing sound. The end of the trailer has had fans guessing what it means as Rey snaps a double-bladed red lightsaber out and... Read All

The trailer for the new Star Wars live action show The Mandelorian dropped and it looks better than I imagined. The Mandelorian picks up after the events of Return of the Jedi and if the impaled helmets of Imperial Storm Troopers are an indication, it doesn't look like where the show takes place in is big a fan of the Empire. Disney has been pretty mum about what the show is about and the Mandelorian himself but it seems that he might have a connection to Jango and Boba Fett as the official description mentions them by name.

Tie this up with the news that Ewan McGregor is coming back to play Obi-Wan in another show for Disney+. It seems much of the plans Lucasfilm had... Read All

Star Wars Celebration is upon us and during the Episode IX panel Lucasfilm unveiled the new teaser for Star Wars Episode IX titled "Rise of Skywalker." One of my friends is waiting to watch the teaser until we see Endgame in the theater so I'm not going to spoil any of the teaser details in this post but we can in the comments.

After this teaser I'm more excited for The Rise of Skywalker than Endgame or any other movie this year. It's the end of the Skywalker Saga but not quite end of the Star Wars franchise. I've heard news from Lucasfilm and Disney that after this movie they are going to take a break from making films and focus on TV shows on the new Disney+... Read All

Some big Star Wars Episode IX news dropped today that I wanted to share with you all. Not only is Luke Skywalker coming back for Episode IX but so will the entire principal cast of the The Last Jedi including Lando Calrissian! Wasn't sure if they'd bring Lando back but it was confirmed along with some awesome news on how they plan on including Carrie Fisher from the director of Episode IX J.J. Abrams:

"Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie's legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX... Read All

In this episode of Cheerful Ghost Radio weā€™re going to bring you the second and most important part of our two part Solo: A Star Wars Story Review. Tim couldn't make it for the last review, so we get his thoughts on Solo and some comments about what we said in the last episode.

We also talk about the future Star Wars movies we may see, and how Solo's somewhat limited box office take might mean for those.
