Something's rotten in the land of the dead, and you're being played for a sucker. Meet Manny Calavera, travel agent at the Department of Death. He sells luxury packages to souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest. But there's trouble in paradise. Help Manny untangle himself from a conspiracy that threatens his very salvation.

One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot's Game of the Year award upon its original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore.

Grim Fandango Remastered is available now on the Switch and Double Fine has a fun video out to celebrate that goes over 8 inspirations for the game. A couple of these were fun to learn, like The Beastie Boys inspired the game but i'll let you click play to find out how.

Grim Fandango is available on every platform such as PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, XBox and now the Nintendo Switch.

At this years E3 Coliseum Double Fine presented a really special script table read of Grim Fandango featuring the original voice actors and Jack Black! The original game music composer Peter McConnell was there providing the music creating the backdrop for a very special event. The whole thing was to pitch that Grim Fandango and Broken Age are coming to the Switch and if you haven't played these games and own a Switch you might be interested.

Grim Fandango Remastered is available for free on GOG right now for the next couple days and if you haven't played this LucasArts classic remastered by Double Fine, now is the best chance you will have DRM free!

I remember when Grim Fandango was released. At the time, I already had a subscription to PC Gamer and was enjoying receiving a CD with game demos with each issue. Although I was aware of Grim Fandango, I never played it even though I thought it looked cool (and I had the demo for it). It wasn't too long ago that a remastered version was released. I still didn't bite. However, it's on sale now for about $5, so I decided to get it.

Has anyone played it before? If so or not, what are your thoughts? Are you going to grab it during this sale?
