I just want to put this out there (here) for the moment, but I just got Red Dead Redemption 2 and I feel like it runs better than GTA V. I watched the embedded video ("What Made Red Dead Redemption 2 One Hell of a Game?") and I got the impression that the game benefits from being greatly optimized. When I set up the graphics settings, I moved a slider all the way over to "quality" with my resolution of 1920x1200 and V-Sync on. I later learned from GeForce Experience that these were the optimal/recommended settings for my PC. I ran the benchmark test once and didn't notice a single issue. The results were a minimum FPS of about 33, max just about 55, and average about... Read All

https://www.pcworld.com/article/3545909/microsoft-releases-the-windows-10-may-2020-update.html

Above is the headline that it was released but even after checking for updates, I still have build 1909, so maybe it hasn't been completely distributed yet.

However, I read the article below and it sounds very interesting. It sounds like Microsoft is now accepting Linux into Windows. I think this is unexpected. This could mean one may not have to have separate computers for Windows and Linux. It also seems like they work together. I thought this was interesting enough to share.

The article has details about other pieces of the May 2020 Update, too, so go check it out. As for... Read All

I recently found an article on GameSpot, which covers the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Coming Out of Their Shells album and tour. I had this on cassette. I definitely remembered some songs, but it seems I forgot others. The article gives some interesting details on how the album and tour went. It also includes a documentary and the entire episode of Oprah that they were guests on. It's interesting to watch, at least for nostalgic value. You can check out the article here: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ninja-turtles-how-the-coming-out-of-their-shells-a/1100-6475327/

I also just watched a video from GameSpot Universe on YouTube that covers some Easter eggs in the... Read All

Star Trek Picard is a new Star Trek series that premiered on CBS All Access. It currently only has one season, but is apparently getting at least a second. From the trailers we can see that Picard has settled down to retirement on his family vineyard. He meets up with a girl named Dahj, who comes to him for help. We see her fighting in one scene. There are also other images that only give us questions about what’s going on.

Some of those questions include the following:

Who is Dahj and why does she need help from Picard?

Why is Picard talking to Commander Data, who sacrificed himself to save Picard in the last TNG movie?

Is that Data we see stored in pieces?

What are Will... Read All

Star Wars Rebels is awesome! It’s a CGI animated show with four seasons. It transpires outside of the Skywalker saga, but it contains many connections to other Star Wars media, including films. In fact, the main ship in this show is called the Ghost and it appears in Rogue One and The Rise of Skywalker. The main droid in this show also gets a very brief cameo in Rogue One. This show covers the crew of the Ghost and their place in events between The Clone Wars (show and movie) and Rogue One.

The show’s main characters don’t just have one Jedi among them, but two. Kanan Jarrus (voiced by Freddie Prince, Jr.) lost his Jedi Master due to Order 66. He then stepped away... Read All

The Mandalorian is a new Star Wars show streaming on Disney+. It currently only has one season, but it seems to have been received well. It follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter, most call him "Mando." He gets a great bounty, which leads to the plot of the first season. The season kind of ends on a cliff hanger, showing that there is (or could be) more to come. I do believe it has been given a green light for season two.

One thing that sets this show apart from the Star Wars movies and other shows (like The Clone Wars) is that it is entirely outside of the Skywalker Saga. I think it was done very well and it is nice to see a piece of the Star Wars universe outside of... Read All

You may have heard about a show on HBO called Game of Thrones. Hopefully you haven't heard too many spoilers, if you haven't seen it. GoT is a totally epic show. It blends together elements of many genres such as horror, drama, fantasy, and more. I personally like to binge watch GoT as each hour long episode keeps me wanting more to the point where it's hard to stop watching. There are eight seasons, each with 10 episodes, except for the last two.

Basically, GoT is pretty much as the title states, it's a game of thrones. It's pretty much an ongoing power struggle for the crown of the seven kingdoms. There are many characters that wish to sit on the Iron Throne. Some... Read All

I am primarily and strongly a PC gamer. It hasn't always been this way, but it's been this way much more in my life than I've been a console gamer. I've had a computer since I was really young and over the years I've learned a lot about them. I consider myself a PC enthusiast. This is something well known of me, so people have often come to me with their computer questions or tech support needs. I did, after all, work in tech support for a few years at my local community college. While programming really isn't my "thing," PC hardware is. I think I put together (built) my first PC after high school and I did it a few more times after that, as I just did very recently.... Read All

Do you ever find yourself wondering some random things? Like, why do loaves of bread come with an odd number of slices? Are there other things you want to learn more about, like ancient civilizations and creatures? The pursuit of knowledge is awesome. Google and YouTube are two really good ways to learn about things in general. I enjoy learning things and I thought I'd share with you some channels I've found on YouTube.

Embedded is a video that explains how the roar of Godzilla was created. This is from the Today I Found Out Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC64UiPJwM_e9AqAd7RiD7JA.

If you're looking for more here are some others I've found really... Read All

Unwanted calls and texts are not just annoying, but they’re also quite disruptive. They can wake you up in the middle of the night or distract you while driving. Often they are “robocalls,” which are pretty much automated calls or texts that are sent to very many people. They often cover different topics such as warranties, credit card debt, student loan debt, and more. They cal also be scams by people trying to get you to give them some money. Some will pretend to be the IRS and scare you into giving them some money. This is a big problem and they’re on the rise. Luckily, we’re not completely defenseless. You can add your name to a Do Not Call list at ... Read All
