Longing for the old days of first-person shooters? 3D Realms has you covered with Ion Maiden. Running on the same engine as Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, and others, this game aims to reclaim the mayhem of the 90s shooters. Because, basically, it IS a 90s shooter.

Ion Maiden is currently in Early Access on Steam, with the first level set playable. Reviews are Overwhelmingly Positive, with only 13 negative reviews out of 554 total.

What do you think? Are you in the mood for a new classic FPS?

This is actually an incredible idea. Why build a new game engine that looks like an old one when you could just use an old one?

I wonder if now more old Doom clones will come out using the open source engine as all of that tech is available under the GPL to Doom 3?

Your use of "Doom clones" took me back to a time when everyone called any FPS a Doom clone. :D

But wow that mod looks cool. I hope this one finishes.
