I played this game around the time it was released, not the Special Edition though. I have SimCity 4 Deluxe, which I started playing again a month ago. I posted about it in the forums. The sad thing is that I went through the tutorials as I had previously done and then I lost interest in continuing to play it.

I'm getting more like you, too many games, not enough time to play them all.

I agree. Added this to my account so if I want to come back and play it I can, but yeah, when will I get to it?

No idea smile

I snagged this, who knows if I'll ever actually play it, but I have it. To anyone who has a 16/9 or 16/10 monitor (who doesn't these days) here's a resolution fix from reddit:

If you are using a 16:9 or 16:10 monitor, then the game will initially appear slightly distorted for being in the wrong aspect ratio. Fix:

  • Browse to your Origin games install directory. By default I believe this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\ though not sure as I changed mine.

  • Browse to \SimCity 2000 SE\Game\Game\DOSBox

  • Open dosbox.conf in a basic text editor like Notepad.

  • Find the line fullresolution=original. It's near the top in the first section. Change this to fullresolution=desktop

  • Save the file and run the game. Enjoy non-squidged SimCity!

I almost can't believe how quickly it downloaded and installed. I'm not sure when I will play it though.

Thanks for the resolution fix, Travis. That solution looks very familiar (as in similar to another Sims or SimCity game).
