In the Super Mario Maker 2 Nintendo Direct today we got all the details of what's to come in the new Super Mario Maker 2! For the first time, Super Mario Maker will feature four player online multiplayer you can play competitively or co-cop with friends! It's also featuring a 100 level single player game where each time you complete a level you unlock some coins so you can rebuild the the Mushroom Kingdom Castle. Super Mario Maker on 3DS featured a single player set of levels that I really enjoyed, so it's nice that Mario Maker 2 is getting a single player mode that adds a bit more. I thought the Mario Maker 3DS stages were quite inventive and hopefully Nintendo pulls out even more fun in SMM2.
There are a raft of other new features such as full day and night cycles that change up the levels quite a bit, as well as a new Super Mario 3D World themed level set! Many people noted that the Super Mario 3D World level set is under "Extra Game Styles" section leading many to think more styles could be on the way?

Nintendo has released a lot of game DLC for Switch games free for early adopters so I hope if they are releasing more levelsets that they are free for the early folk that bought the game.
Super Mario Maker 2 on Switch is a day one purchase for me, but then again if it was just Mario Maker on the Switch it would have been but these new features really make it much more compelling!

This was already a day-one buy for me. Now it’s a reason to get Nintendo Online too.
Agreed. The amount of games that i'm interested in picking up day one is so high right now. For me, this hasn't been the case but right now with Rage 2 and now Super Mario Maker 2 this is going to be a very fun couple of months.
