AdamPFarnsworth gives this an astounding "Must Play" on the Ghost Scale
This achieves something special, and it would be a shame to miss it.

I got the game a couple days ago, and am totally hooked. It's so open-ended that it can be difficult to choose what to do!
I was stealing some stuff from a shopkeeper's basement. He heard me and came down and attacked. I beat him up and he fell to the ground, then his adult daughter came down, attacking as well, and I killed her. Later, I came upon a quest where I found a treasure (a Golden Claw), and had to figure out who it belonged to to give it to. Turns out it was the shopkeeper's. So I gave it to him (he didn't die from our fight), but he just said "I just wish my daughter was here to enjoy it." Man, what a downer!
But, I ended up stealing a "dragonstone" from his shop, not knowing what it was. A while later in the game I got a quest to go find a dragonstone in a game, and... what do you know, but I have one! Was able to skip the entire thing! And leveled two levels instantly.
I've killed one dragon so far, and today I litterally chased butterflies in the game.
It's so open-ended, it's rad! I'm sure I'll post more soon!

Sounds awesome. Can you harvest more stuff from animals than butterfly wings?
I haven't bothered with too many animals, but it looks like you can kill most anything and get pelts from them.
You should kill a mammoth!
Oh I've tried! Haven't got one yet. One of my quests is to deliver a mammoth skull to someone lol.
Hmmmm. Do a barrel roll?
LOL! Well I took down my second dragon today, so perhaps a mammoth will die soon.
Awesome.
Mammoths aren't that bad, but the giants that guard them can give you a free trip to the stratosphere in earlier levels.
But Jon, in answer to your question, butterfly wings, torchbug thoraxes, wolf pelts, bear skins/claws, mountain lion pelts/eyes/claws, and meat from just about everything.
There's a random stat in the player stats section called "Bunnies slaughtered" so I haven't killed any rabbits to find out what they have. That stat makes me feel preemptively guilty for bunny murdering.
Adym was showing me Skyrim and killed a Goat. It wasn't great, I was like "NOOOOOO!"
I have to admit to enjoying FUS-RO-DAHing a goat or two down a mountainside.
