In 2015 Double Fine released the Double Fine Adventure documentary series that cataloged the journey for their latest point and tap adventure game Broken Age. Created in partnership with Double Fine and 2 player productions this deep dive docu-series really impressed me. So much so that I watched it start to finish on YouTube and then later bought it on Blu-Ray.

Double Fine recently released it's latest 2 player production documentary for free streaming online on YouTube without ads in 4K! Double Fine PsychOdyssey is available now and features 37 separate videos with a total runtime of 23 hours! So if you are looking for a long series to binge, this is the one to... Read All

Psychonauts 2 is an upcoming game by Double Fine and just today received a new official trailer! Rasputin is back and this time he's not at Summer Camp anymore and much of the game seems to take place in Psychonauts headquarters! The trailer is big on plot mystery which makes the anticipation for the final game all the more fun. One thing I've come to love about Double Fine is the game narratives are always top notch. The last Double Fine game I loved my way through was Broken Age and I felt like the second half was way too obtuse puzzle wise but the story was great and I wanted to finish the game simply to see how things turned out. I wasn't disappointed in Broken... Read All

Tim Schaefer and Zak Mcclendon run through the first playable version of Psychonauts 2 and the game is shaping up really well. Looks like the game is made with the new Unreal Engine from what I gathered from the video and because of that the game looks buttery smooth.

Wondering if anyone played the original Psychonauts and if this game is on your radar as something you are going to play when it launches?

Double Fine are the Queens and Kings of developer documentaries showing off their game making process. After Psychonauts 2 was successfully funded on Fig they have started development and decided to take a trip to the woods to get inspiration for the game from actual nature. It's a fun doc short but focuses more on the bus ride down than actual time in the woods. I guess that's par for the course for nerds, spend more time talking about video games on a bus than time with actual pinecones and bears. Still it's a fun watch and if you are interested in how the game is turning out, well worth your time.

I have really enjoyed Double Fine's documentary videos. It's something they started with Broken Age that has carried through each game and they are continuing it with the development of the much anticipated Psychonauts 2. The video covers the games reveal at the Video Game Awards as well as successful funding on Fig.

Tim Schafer and Double Fine are at it again with a new Crowdfunding campaign to launch the development of Psychonauts 2. As seen in the video above they are enlisting the help of many people associated with the original game to cook up what looks to be a nice follow up to the original. The video is very fun and features a cameo by Valve overlord Gabe Newell and writer Eric Wolpaw that is work the price of admission alone.

To date Double Fine seems to have navigated a few Crowdfunding snafus with Broken Age and Spacebase DF9. I can't speak to Spacebase but I found Broken Age to be an incredibly fun game even though the funding efforts were a bit shaky at times. To... Read All
