"Set on Planet Gomi, A.N.N.E. is a Metroidvania-style platformer with a unique focus on open exploration. So many places to go! So many things to see!
High level enemies are blocking your path, are you skilled enough to take them on now, or will you venture down a less risky path and come back later?"
After watching the Kickstarter video for A.N.N.E. my first thought is that this game looks heavily inspired by Blaster Master, a NES game I __LOVED__. Blaster Master lacked a save feature so when I borrowed it from my friends I could never beat it in one sitting. That said, Blaster Master was awesome as you had a badass tank that you explored the overworld in and then had to get out and walk around on foot. A.N.N.E. looks to be that game style ratcheted up a few notches and adds in absolutely beautiful graphics. Oh right and it is also an open world RPG too.
The Kickstarter is really aiming at people that loved the Super Nintendo era as starting at the $15 backing level you get a PDF SNES styled instruction booklet. At $75 you get a SNES cart reproduction, box and SNES styled booklet go higher and there is an A.N.N.E. styled SNES USB controller. The Kickstarter rewards get even more sick so you really need to check them out.
Oh and do the Greenlight upvoting thing too, this needs to come to Steam.

This looks very nice, indeed! Love that Blaster Master vibe. Happy days, Hawkins, happy days!
