I just finished watching the Bethesda E3 showcase and I can safely say it was the best E3 show i've ever seen. Bethesda kicked things off showing a ton of new gameplay from the upcoming Doom game and it looks incredible. Shotguns, blood and demon face punching look incredible and I can't wait to play it.

What do you think, are you read to head back to hell in Doom?

I want to be honest, the game looks so brutal I kind of feel bad for the demons....

It's like they took some inspiration from Brutal Doom.

I love the BFG at the end. I haven't played Doom in forever.

Some people seem to think the new Doom game is too violent. I will give them one thing, the new Doom game is pretty violent, shockingly so but that's one reason why it looks so fun. smile

I often agree with Anita but on this issue, I really don't. I don't find a problem with violence in video games and when I hear criticism like this I think Doom should double down and add in more. I am also glad that we live in a country where people can create and buy what they wish.

Doom and other "too violent" games got tons of flak in the 90s as Doom was labeled by some to be a "murder simulator." I guess when stuff pushes the edges some people won't be comfortable with that, which doesn't mean it's wrong. I think the big difference here is that no one is calling to ban these games which they were in the 90's.

Violent video games shouldn't be all there is, but Doom is so over-the-top violent, it's almost a parody of violence. There's nothing realistic about the methods and amount of gore produced. It's funny, and it's fun.
