Jack and Rich from PreviouslyRecorded released their Doom review and like much of their show, I love it. I also tried Doom today and I love that too and for only having played it a couple minutes I can say that it's one of the better shooters i've played in years. It's nice to see Doom go back to the good ol' days of a simple fast paced game.

I think I'm going to jump on the bandwagon to Hell.....LOL
The devil is impressed Greg!
Well I'm impressed and that's why. At first I wasn't at all interested, I thought it looked like a bit too much gore for my taste. But, I watched one of my favorite YouTubers play and it looks awesome. There's a very interesting impression I'm getting from what I've seen and thinking of that translating into gameplay is exciting.
Yeah, the gameplay is really exciting and... There is a lot of gore. TBH I was really surprised with the gore in Diablo 3 but it's not a huge deal now. I guess it's just another day desensitized to all good human emotions
Joking aside, let me know what you think of the game. It has the biggest download to date but looks great.
Yeah the DVD install helped my bandwidth cap a little but it was still a ton of data. Similarly to Fallout 4, it went really slowly from the DVD for some reason, but I let it because of the bandwidth cap my ISP has.
It's a really solid game. Doom 3 was good, I loved it even when people were complaining about it, but it didn't feel like Doom, it was survival horror for the most part, and it worked well. This is just straight up mayhem.
So I usually don't watch long video reviews of a game, especially if I've already played it. But this one was really good. I think they kinda liked the game. :D
Seriously though, this game is like what shooters would be like today if cover shooters and military shooters never took over. It takes some cues from Wolfenstein: The New Order, I think. I'm not saying that cover and military shooters are bad, I'm just saying this is better!
I think New Order set the stage for what iD games can be. Amazing shooter, challenging gameplay and a good story. Doom focuses more on it being a sort of anti-story while still having a driving and natural narrative.
Oh Hell yeah! This game is sweet! I thought I'd suck at it, so I started off playing on the lowest difficulty level, but it didn't take me very long to decide to increase the difficult back to normal. I think we have our 2016 Game of the Year. Hahaha
It's really good.
