Here is the final episode of the Cheerful Ghost Roundtable. In our most final hour and a half we talk about what we've been watching and playing and then discuss the games that have stuck with us the last five years since we started the show. We round things off with the things that have changed for us in gaming since the show launched as well as things we totally got wrong.

CapnCurry joins us for the final Roundtable and by popular demand repeats his Gonzo the Norn story to end the show. Of course I can't help but talk about how I think The Phantom Menace is the best prequel and vow to never speak of it again in our upcoming Podcast. I hope.

I want to thank Mark, Travis, John, Tim and Adam(for that one episode) for doing the Roundtable with me. It's been something i've looked fondly at for the last 5 years and even though the show never got a huge following it has always been a joy to be part of. I also want to thank everyone that watched over the years, even if you only tuned in for one episode it means a lot that you've shared your time with us.

It was great having the whole crew back together again for our final episode.

This isn't *really* a final episode, just the last one with video. We'll still be doing it, just in a more convenient format. But still, it feels like the end of an era. Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.

Gonzo! That's such a great story!

The Roundtables have been great. I've already been using them as a podcast, so moving to that format will be perfect for me. Great job over the last 5 years! Hopefully we all make it another 5 years!

Thanks, Jon, for giving us all a fun space to hangout and share things we care about. Looking forward to the podcast format, and not being objectified by Googles screencap algorithm!

Google seems to really like you.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one that's going to miss the Roundtable. I like watching YouTube, so the Roundtable is convenient for me. I don't own any Apple products, so I've never even thought about podcasts.

Anyway, Terraria server!!!!! If we do one annually, we should do two this year since we missed last year. Hahaha We need to do Expert Mode!!

We will still embed each podcast as a post on the site so you should easily click play to listen to it just like now. There just won't be video. Also, we will have a podcasts section on the site for you to head back and listen to old ones if you want same as with the Roundtable now.

It's that now that it will be a Podcast so people with Podcast clients will be able to subscribe and I think it should get the show a bit of a wider audience. I hope. AND hopefully you don't mind the format change as much WITH THAT I do image we will do special streaming shows on YouTube AND Podcast for certain events like a new Star Wars film or other special shows.

Travis   Admin wrote on 02/16/2017 at 03:41am

Yeah to expand on what Jon said, you don't need Apple products. Android or whatever will work. It'll be a downloadable MP3 if you don't want to subscribe to it but you have an Android right? Google Play has the same kind of podcast subscription thingie. Or you can use a wide variety of phone/tablet apps or Windows software to subscribe.

Sounds like it'll be easy to access. I realize you don't have to own an Apple product as there are various media players for a variety of formats. I'm sure WinAmp or VLC could play the podcasts, even if they weren't in MP3 format, I just haven't checked out podcasts before. Yes, I own an Android based Kindle and I now have an Android smartphone.

Ah, this sentence made it sound like you were equating podcasts with Apple

> I don't own any Apple products, so I've never even thought about podcasts.

But yeah, it'll be available in way more places now.

Azurephile   Super Member wrote on 02/16/2017 at 04:49am

Well yeah, I did, but I thought that you could still listen to them with a compatible player (or one with the right plugins). The "pod" in "podcast" makes me think of Apple's iPod. I'm slightly familiar with people listening to podcasts on iPods or something, but I've never listened to any.

Looks like Jar-Jar didn't have an easy time after Revenge of the Sith.

I honestly feel bad for him. He wasn't bad he was just written that way.

Travis   Admin wrote on 02/18/2017 at 03:01pm

It's even worse if you've seen the Clone Wars. He's redeemed significantly in those. He's not in a ton of episodes but when he is they actually get the comedy right... most of the time.

There were so many Netflix shows mentioned in this one. Could someone put a list of them here? Perhaps we should keep a collection of recommended Netflix shows. I'm thinking about checking it out.

AdamPFarnsworth wrote on 02/20/2017 at 04:38pm

Speaking of Netflix shows, I finished Travelers last night on Netflix. Whilst the show was really good, the season finale was a bit disappointing. It felt more like a mid-season finale, not a season finale. (I suppose it's comparable to a LOST season finale where there's always some sort of cliff hanger lol)

(Hmmm, it might be close to time to rewatch LOST again)

AdamPFarnsworth wrote on 02/20/2017 at 04:44pm

And Greg, here's a list of Netflix shows I like (and I'll follow this with another list of shows I know a lot of others like that I've not seen yet

Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Orange Is The New Black
Narcos
Arrested Development (Although the season made just for Netflix wasn't great)
Fuller House (Yes, I love the nostalgia)
Travelers

Shows people always recommend:
Stranger Things
House of Cards
Sense8
Black Mirror
Making A Murderer
The OA

Courtny and I just started going through The OA. We're about 4 episodes in and I'm thoroughly confused and intrigued in equal measure. It's good even through I'm constantly asking WTF.
