I recently finished playing Oblivion on the PC. I thought I'd give Morrowind another try afterwards. I have the game disc, but not the DLC, so I decided to buy the Game of the Year Edition on Steam. After a couple of days, I feel like playing something else, but don't know what. That's why I'm asking for your game recommendations. Fable is one of the recommendations I have from Steam, but I'm not sure about it. I saw some other games listed in the recommendations section that may be like Terraria and Starbound, so I may look into those games as well. So, gamers, what's good?

Dishonored is a game I started really getting into (until my RAM decided it was too hot to live). It's another Bethesda game, so perhaps you're looking for something completely different?
That sucks about your RAM, Adam. I also recently finished Fallout 3 for the PC. I'm not really interested in playing the older Fallout games. I have New Vegas on the PS3, but don't quite yet feel like playing it on the PC. I do like Bethesda games, even if some of them are a bit buggy. I'm not sure what I want. I think I want something else like Terraria.
I'm currently eyeballing a game called Edge of Space. It is like Terraria and Starbound, so much so that it also includes some Terraria content. The game is still in development, but available on Steam's Early Access. I'm wondering what my fellow Terraria fans think of this game or if they've tried it out.
I love the Fable games, and now that Microsoft has changed it's mind about shuttering Games for Windows Live, they are once again safe to purchase (for now...).
Games I enjoyed recently: BioShock Infinite, Wolfenstein: New Order, Portal 2(again), Ittle Dew & Shovel Knight.
If you play Edge of Space let me know what you think of it, it looks really interesting.
Yeah, I saw Fable was only $10-20. I haven't played it before and one of my friends compared Skyrim to it years ago when we were playing that.
In the mean time, I haven't seen anyone post about Edge of Space, which is kind of weird seeing as how we're Terraria lovers. It is not Terraria, but it does come with some Terraria content in one edition at least. So, maybe I'll be the Edge of Space pioneer here. I'll probably make a new post for it. I've just finished the some what quick tutorial and am now not sure what to do or how to heal, so I'll give it some more time before creating that kind of post.
Right now, it looks cool. Some of it needs some polishing, which shouldn't be a big surprise, but a lot of what I refer to is some graphical bits. The cinematic didn't look like a high quality video. There are some other minor things I've seen such as how some menus could be cleaned up to look a little better, but that's just minor stuff. I enjoyed the tutorial, even though it didn't tell me how to heal myself.
To me it looks like Starbound but perhaps a bit more Terraria like? That said, I am glad more people are entering that space Terraria/Starbound open world 2D building game space.
I wrote a comment and posted it but it appears to be missing now. Anyway...
Adym, saying that Dishonored is a Bethesda game isn't entirely accurate-- it was published by Bethesda but not developed by them. It's a Bethesda game in the same sense as Quake 2 is now. Perhaps I'm being pedantic :) It's still great though, from what I've played.
Edge of Space looks interesting. I've almost pulled the trigger a few times, but never have until tonight (it's in the humble bundle flash sale with a ton of other games. Stacking is worth the Beat-the-Average price of $10). It's apparently more action/survival focused than Terraria. There's no melee, only ranged weapons.
From what I hear, it's one of the good Early Access games, which is to say it's basically finished but they just keep adding more to it.
@Travis yeah you know I think it looks good too. But I am back to where I come to with Early Access games and I kind of just want to play it when it launches. You don'y know HOW FREAKING HARD it's been to hold off on getting Broforce. Then again, when they add the Alien/Contra themed levels and the ability to upload levels you made to the Steam workshop I may just have to buy it.
I mean, i've played the demo and it's awesome... but. Early access...
Well, I guess we'll be the Edge of Space Pioneers of Cheerful Ghost, Travis. I read a bit of a Steam thread today about Terraria vs. Starbound vs. Edge of Space and it was pretty cool. I enjoyed Starbound mostly when I first played, but it hit a point to where I lost purpose. It's still Early Access, at least as far as I know. Terraria seems to be the inspiration with Starbound and Edge of Space, which I think is great because Terraria is such a great game and I want more.
I wonder if I shouldn't use the maximum resolution for the game, maybe I'll get used to it.
Hmmmm. It is in the bundle... Maybe I should...
I don't know, Jon, do you want to be "one of us?" Hahahaha
Yeah, last night I started playing Far Cry 3, so for now, no.
That said, looking forward to what you all think of it.
Well, the only achievement I have not unlocked is called, "One of Us." You get it by playing multiplayer.
You can't go wrong with Half-life. Or Portal. Doesn't matter which one, they're all equally great.
