I added these to my EGS library, even though I already own the Arkham games on Steam. My EGS library is full of free games, I haven't paid for one yet. LOL I also don't currently have the EGS launcher installed.

When the Link's Awakening remake was recently announced in a Nintendo Direct I was in. Link's Awakening was already one of the best Zelda games in the franchise and remaking it seemed like a great idea. I pre-ordered the Dreamer Edition and it finally released last Friday and I wanted to write up my first thoughts as well as recap a bit of what others are saying about it.
A Worthy Remake of a Classic Game
In a nutshell the Link's Awakening remake is a very worthy remake for one of the best video games of all time. You can tell that a lot of love and attention was poured into this game by Grezzo and Nintendo and a very keen eye was paid to recreate the original game nearly beat for beat. That said, it's not perfect and a few glaring issues keep it from a perfect score.
Link's Awakening Suffers From Framerate Problems
The biggest issue that of the Link's Awakening remake is that it suffers from framerate issues. The game mostly keeps to a 60 hz/fps rate but at times dips to 30 and it's quite noticeable. Apparently this was an issue that many people noticed when the game was demoed originally that has improved but some issues still remain. I hope Greezo and Nintendo are working on an update because playing this game entirely lag free would be incredible. That said, it's a great game, you're just gonna notice the lag or at least, I do.
The Score
As a huge fan of the original Link's Awakening I consider that Gameboy the Gameboy Color DX to be nearly perfect games. Grezzo and Nintendo decided to go with a score that remakes the original chiptunes in a Breath of the Wild style orchestral motif. The end result is a very personal sounding score that makes you feel like the musicians are in the room playing along with the game. The recording of the songs is quite dynamic and the musicians themselves put a ton of style into the songs creating something very special. With that, this is one part of the game i'm not entirely sure about. The music is fantastic but as someone that adores chiptunes on the Gameboy i'm not sure the music is better or on par with the original score. Not all aspects of a remake will be better and for me, perhaps, i'm still stuck in the past with respect to the score.
The Remake Changes A Few Things
A few things I noticed that the remake changes were the opening cinematic. It's fairly faithful to the opening Gameboy scenes except the new anime style doesn't have music. The opening Gameboy scenes and score are forever burned into my brain so when the new cutscene dropped the music this was one change I noticed. Instead the new cutscene uses the visuals and sound effects to create tension instead of leaning into the score. It's a fun change and works quite well.
The Trendy game you play to collect the Yoshi doll and other items is one iconic element of the original Link's Awakening and they include it in the remake with a twist. In the old Trendy game the items moved around in a circle on a conveyer belt and the new game forgoes that entirely. The Trendy game claw in the remake, just like claw games in real life, can drop your items in odd ways that feel cheap but in the end this version of the game might be easier. This isn't a huge difference, but something I did notice.
The Visuals
Any review on the Link's Awakening Remake is going to mention the new lush toy like 3D visuals and how incredible they are and everyone would be correct. I won't talk much more about it but will note that the new interpretations of the Gameboy classic is quite bold and sometimes goofy. That said, the original game was pretty goofy too.
The Influence of Link Between Worlds
One thing I haven't seen discussed when people talk about the new Link's Awakening remake is how it feels like a proper follow up to Link Between Worlds. Link Between Worlds was a sequel to Link to the Past on the 3DS and the Link's Awakening Remake really feels like a continuation of that Zelda gameplay, art and musical style. Link Between Worlds didn't feature such a shiny 3D style, my guess is because the 3DS wasn't quite capable of it. That said, if Nintendo continues with the flagship Zelda games ala Breath of the Wild and the top-down Link Between Worlds / Link's Awakening style of game I'm in.
To compare Link Between Worlds and the new Link's Awakening Remake check the Link Between Worlds Trailer below.
I've played the game up to the Slime Dungeon and so far, it's been incredibly fun. Link's Awakening isn't a very long game and so far they haven't added anything to it in terms of extending the story. I'll do a full review once I'm done with the game but if the game ends like it starts, it's gonna be really fun.
I finished it earlier and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to list off all the ways that it’s amazing.
But one thing I will say that you didn’t touch on much is the dungeon maker.
Eeeeehhhhh you know, the rest of the game doesn’t suffer because of its inclusion so I don’t really count this as a ding against it but, wow, this is entirely uninteresting to me. It just doesn’t hit any notes for me, because it’s all stuff you’ve done before, just remixed. There’s not a lot of room to do anything interesting there.
I had thought this was a beta test for a Zelda maker, but I read an interview where apparently the devs were asked to make something like Mario Maker for this and struggled to find a fun way to do it.
That, and the FPS dips (I think it goes well below 30), are the only complaints I have about this. The original Link’s Awakening was a strong contender for my favorite Zelda game, and this remake pushed it just high enough so I can say yes, this is it. This is my favorite. I love the new art style. I don’t think it’s necessarily better or worse than the original blocky pixels, but it’s a great modern yet simple take on it. But really, it’s the QoL updates that let you do things without so much micromanaging.
And the new score, holy cow. Yeah, the original chiptunes are great like you said, but this score feels like what the composers originally intended, even though the Gameboy couldn’t quite pull it off.
I think the score is symbolic to the game as a whole: the original and the remake can coexist well. This feels like the original, so much that I still remembered where some stuff was, and the maps from the old game are still accurate (except for a few minor things). But this could also be brand new. And in this way it excels in a way most remakes don’t: it almost immaculately recreates the original without being beholden to its mechanics that may have aged out.
To put it simply: this is one of my favorite games of all time, recreated to be even better than I ever remembered it.
Also I’m not seeing a bunch of similarity with Link Between Worlds, honestly. I don’t think people are talking about it much because it’s a very different visual language. I’ll give you the music a bit, but visually it seems more like an attempt to bridge the 2D and N64ish era rather than doing its own thing. It doesn’t seem like just a platform limitation but a whole different set of inspirations.

It’s somewhat subjective comparing two games but in terms of Zelda games less so maybe. The gameplay differences in Worlds and the Awakening remake are pretty stark in the Worlds is quite a bit faster and in the Awakening remake Link snaps to one of eight directions and in general feels a bit slower.
That said, I’ve played both and just played Worlds to get the feel back and they are more similar than different which is a good thing. Zelda timeline wise Awakening happens right after Link to the Past and Worlds after that so I think it makes sense that they are styled together some if contain differences enough to give them a unique voice.

Back in my day games ran at 15 fps and we liked it! :) It is sad to hear about the FPS issue. Do you see the same performance docked and in handheld?
I never tried it handheld, only docked. It definitely wasn’t game killing and it seemed like it was mostly around transitions from inside a dungeon to outside, or after fast traveling.

I had the original game on the original Gameboy (not the Color) and loved it. I forgot all about the claw machine! I'm glad it's among your favorite games. It was definitely one of my most favorite Gameboy games! I haven't seen or read much about the remake, though. I don't have a Switch yet, so it's not exactly on my radar at the moment. It does look good though!
The FPS issue sucks, but thanks to the video shared by Will_Ball, it seems the current solution is to run it from internal memory. I don't know everything about the Switch, but if you get a hard copy of the game that comes on a cartridge or card, can you install it and have it run from internal memory, or does it only run from the card? It seems that the cartridge is an SD card, is that right or is it similar? Or, are you only able to install and run it from internal memory if you purchase the digital version? I think Steam has made me quite used to digital versions of games, which I think are great, because hard copies are easy to lose or damage. But, if the place hosting the game stops operating, then you essentially lose the game, or your ability to re-install it.
You can't install the cartridge games to internal memory. Which sucks but it makes sense.
However, there are more graphically (and presumably data) intense games on the Switch that run fine, so I'm hoping this is just an optimization issue they can patch.

I have the game cart which does not need an install to play. Some games have a hefty update and they mostly run off the internal SD card but Link's Awakening runs entirely on the game cart. For now anyway.

Yep, that's why I buy physical if I can. In the case of the Wii it's now the difference between being able to play a game and not. I bought the physical version of Tetris on Wii and can still play it whereas the download version goes with your system.

Travis and I have been working hard on a bunch of new updates to Cheerful Ghost and Tale of the White Wyvern, and we wanted to talk about one that released today! Cheerful Ghost is an independent game community and this year we struck out and launched our first home baked text game Tale of the White Wyvern. Two important goals we had were to launch the game and find people that love playing it, and also build a sustainable ecosystem around it for the current and future games we create. Which is why we are launching a new way for you to support Cheerful Ghost today in incredibly easy memberships.
Incredibly Easy Memberships For Everyone
One thing we heard from people is that they want to support Cheerful Ghost but didn’t want another subscription, so today we are allowing people to buy a yearly Membership in one go using PayPal. We’re also providing two Membership options depending on which is best for you.
Yearly Membership Options
Cheerful Ghost Membership: $24 per year with Paypal. A membership gets you a shiny badge on your profile and any posts/comments you make, alongside a Membership trophy. This also lets you access member-only cosmetic items in the games we develop, such as weapons, armor, and hats in Tale of the White Wyvern.
Cheerful Ghost Super Membership: $60 per year with Paypal. Oh wow, you like us, you really like us! You get everything the member level gets, plus we give you a shout out in the credits on everything we make as a supporter.
On top of the new yearly Memberships, we have changed our Patreon Membership subscriptions to match: $2 per month (Member) and $5 per month (Super Member). For folks that prefer a monthly option, or if you already have a monthly membership and want to stick with it, the Patreon options are for you. If you were already supporting us at the original $5 Membership level, you can keep that option and become a Super Member.
Super Members!
For the incredible people that support us at the higher level we created the SUPER MEMBER status and will be recognizing these Members in each of our games in the credits! This is so super I had to talk about it one more time.
I want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years, whether financially or just by loving what we do. If you haven’t become a Member yet, I encourage you to join us today by clicking the heart at the top of the page, or follow the link below!
As a friendly reminder, we have a new Cheerful Ghost Zazzle Merch store up with Tale of the White Wyvern swag available. We have plans to add Cheerful Ghost branded swag as well so check it out!
This Thursday we are going to be releasing the 0.9.7 Tale of the White Wyvern game update and we wanted to talk about it before it hit because it's special. As we've been working on the game we've changed elements that effected gameplay but on Thursday we are going to make a big change to the game that will effect Rogues and we wanted to give everyone some lead time as it might change how you play.
The Rogue Update
When Tale of the White Wyvern launched I felt like the Mage and Warrior were classes we got right but Rogue always seemed too similar to the Warrior class. Frankly it wasn't obvious to me how to make the Rogue different so at launch the Rogue and Warrior ability were basically the same in that both abilities were a 3x attack. Warriors had a random chance to gain strength in Forkwood Forest and Rogues gained defense and this difference set them apart but the similar skill attack kept them way too close.
When the 0.9.7 update drops the Rogue (S)neak Attack will change to (D)isappear. Disappear is fun new mechanic where the Rogue will use its powers of stealth to be entirely invisible and immune to attack for four turns. So if you are in a particularly hard Forest Fight or Wyvern fight you can disappear taking up the first turn and you will stop taking damage for the following three turns. So, practically speaking, you can deal damage without any retribution for three turns.
The reason why we are letting players know of this change in advance is if you are nearing a Wyvern kill, knowing this in advance may sway your choice one way or another. After testing disappear it really changes the feel of the Rogue class and makes it quite different from the Warrior finally fixing something we didn't get quite right at launch.
We are also adding instructions when the patch drops to further clarify each class in terms of how skills are gained and what they do. There is some confusion from people in terms of classes they haven't played and what to pick and this should help clear that up.
Buckner's Haberdashery (The Hat Update)
When Thursday rolls around everyone will be able to visit the all new shop in the Town Square, Buckner's Haberdashery. Bucker is one of the newest citizens of Wyrmdoor hailing from the Dwarf forge in the Tristan Mountains. Not much is known about Buckner but his warm smile and cozy shop are a welcomed addition to the Town Square.
Hats are special items in Tale of the White Wyvern as they can grant strength and defense bonuses but also increased forest gold find and experience gain. If weapons and armor are the bread and butter of a strong adventurer, hats are the mashed potatoes and as such should be considered after you have solidly upgraded your main weapon and armor set. It's also worth considering that not all hats are a good deal and some might only be useful very late in the game or not at all depending on how you want to play.
To add some mystery to PvP we intentionally designed the game such that you can't see someones weapons or armor unless we randomly leak it out in the Daily News or you Spy on someone in the Tavern. Hats are different in that you will be able to see what someone is wearing on their profile page.
As with weapons and armor Bucker will have a Member only showroom where Cheerful Ghost members can buy alternate hats that have the same power but offer an alternate fun cosmetic set to wear. We've synced up the normal hat and member only hat set to fit in nicely with the corresponding weapons and armor such that if you want to match up each set of gear at every step, you can. For instance if you have Wool Tunic the Wool Hat thematically matches making for a fun ability to pair up equivalent items.
Since hats are an extra thing and not strictly required to kill the Wyvern we will list out the cost of each hat at the Haberdashery AND ALSO note the strength, defense, gold and experience benefits of each.
Bucker's hats:
Wool Cap
Feather Hat
Leather Headpiece
Iron Helmet
Golden Yellow Hat
Grey Fedora
Bronze Helmet
Dodson's Headgear
Black Fedora
Golden Monocle
Silver Helmet
Astral Rock Helm
Crown of Fangs
The Crimson Stetson
Death's Helmet
Buckner's member only showroom selection:
Green Feathered Cap
Shiny Metal Helmet
Green Plumber's Cap
Silver Crown
Blast Helmet
Blue Feathered Hat
Rabbit Mask
Sorting Hat
Newman's Headpiece
Samus's Helmet
Red Plumber's Cap
Tiger Mask
Blue Bandana
Kokiri's Green Hat

This is cool, but it seems like (D)isappear is going to make the rogue OP. The skill seems perfect for a wyvern fight. I'm sure if I had this before when I fought the wyvern both times, I wouldn't have died at all. I've tried all the classes so far and am currently a mage for the first time. I noticed the mage has more than one magic skill. This new rogue skill will probably get me to try out the new rogue once I beat the wyvern again and get to change class again.
The hats are a cool addition. I may have suggested splitting armor up into different pieces, giving us more use for our gold. I know the last time I killed the wyvern, I had plenty of gold in the bank, which unfortunately went unused and thus lost.
> The skill seems perfect for a wyvern fight. I'm sure if I had this before when I fought the wyvern both times, I wouldn't have died at all.
Think about it this way-- warrior primal scream can give you a 3x attack, OR the Disappear ability gives you (functionally) a 5x attack, but the Rogue attack strength will generally be lower.
Mage still has White, which can nearly one-hit the wyvern if you've planned well.

It's actually a 4x attack because the first one just sets up the skill and burns the turn. Frankly I love this kind of game tedium

Since you put it that way, it doesn't sound as OP. I also haven't discovered White yet. Thanks for the clarifications!

Cool. I was disappointed to lose my bank account balance, but I also understood how OP you could be if you had money saved to buy better equipment sooner.

I found Mage's skill pretty much useless up until the Wyvern. The number of times you can use a spell vs the number of fights you have seems a little unbalanced.

The Mage's still is my favorite. I shoot magic missiles for my first fights, so I generally don't take damage, then don't have to heal myself and keep the extra gold!
I'm looking forward to the Rogue update to see how it works out. And can't wait for HATS

Meaning I am forced to use my weapon the majority of the fights. It doesn't feel very balanced to use your spells. A mage should use their spells first and foremost while a weapon should be secondary. I feel like magic is secondary. Maybe I have the wrong expectations here based on other RPGs.

> A mage should use their spells first and foremost while a weapon should be secondary.
I totally agree with you here.
> I feel like magic is secondary. Maybe I have the wrong expectations here based on other RPGs.
Expectations are fine, I appreciate you mentioning it.
Two things come to mind when I think about Tale of the White Wyvern and classes and it's simplicity and game balance. No one class should feel markedly overpowered but they all should feel powerful. Frankly I think Mage is the most powerful class in the game right now, and we might fix that but I loathe nerfs.
For such a simple game, you can take many paths in Tale of the White Wyvern on how you play the game. Much of this is how you'd play an RPG like Diablo in that you pick your class and then as you level you can't pick a different path, it's fairly permanent. We allow dual classing too and depending on when you dual class you could have dramatically less skill points that someone else by the time you fight the Wyvern. When you balance a fight like the Wyvern you want it to feel hard but also accessable so a reasonable player that made good choices would kill it. We're not the kind of game where I want to dramatically penalize someone for making the wrong choices. I'd rather create a game where people can make choices and see how it lands and you might have a less fun time with some of your choices but it's not too far to the Wyvern to reset and start over and make better choices.
So to keep the game balanced at the core if you take Mage, Rogue and Warrior skills off the table we have everyone level up and gain the same amount of stats and have all weapons, armor and hats(to come on Thursday) be the same. This makes the game a bit vanilla but means that what choices we do allow you effect how easy or hard it is to kill monsters in the forest, PvP or the Wyvern.
Since I don't want one class to be the best class at killing the Wyvern I limit skills so it's easier to balance the game. Kind of like in Diablo III where all your Magic power is derived from your weapon.

Also. It might be worth considering that we change the class name to something that's more like a fighter with magical abilities. That would being it more in line with what the class is, which is kind of a hybrid.
I want to build what you are talking about Will, i'm just wondering if we do how that might effect the simplicity of the game? It would be fun to work on for sure.

I like this. Going into it, I expected to find a traditional Mage and was disappointed when I found a class similar to the Warrior with some magic sprinkled in. The class felt more like how I would play a Paladin than a Mage.

White is a 10x attack. Mage has the worst random skill gain (+3 hp) but with white, wowee, get ready for the hurt Wyvern!

I just confirmed, you cannot one-shot the wyvern with White. I'm not sure how many times I hit it with White, maybe twice. Luckily, I was able to Teleport instead of letting it kill me.
You may have been able to one shot the wyvern the first time through. You’re at 3 kills right? It gets harder each time. But I’m not sure you can one shot it on the first time through with reasonable weapons by that level

Ok, I bought the 10 million gold hat and it made all the difference. I just killed the wyvern (yes, for my third time).

The Nintendo Direct today had a lot of great news if you love your Switch as much as I do. To me, the biggest news is that Nintendo Online is getting Super Nintendo games. The Super Nintendo is coming to the Switch tomorrow and launching with 20 games, which is as many as the Super Nintendo Classic included. Some incredible Super Nintendo Classic games are part of Super Nintendo Online but Nintendo is bringing 11 games that didn't make it the Classic to Super Nintendo Online and I've broken up the twenty games below:
Games coming to Super Nintendo Online included in the SNES Classic: Super Mario Kart, Kirby’s Dream Course, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, F-Zero, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Star Fox, Super Metroid & Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts.
Games coming to Super Nintendo Online NOT included in the SNES Classic: Stunt Race FX, Kirby’s Dream Land 3, Pilotwings, Super Soccer, Super Tennis, Brawl Brothers, Demon’s Crest, Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics, Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force, Super Puyo Puyo 2 & Breath of Fire!
On top of the 20 games coming to Super Nintendo Online Nintendo is also selling a wireless Super Nintendo controller so you can play your games because... we all need a new $30 controller.
Some other big news drops is that Overwatch is coming to Switch on October 15th and the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is coming in 2020. Divinity: Original Sin 2: Definitive Edition is available on Switch today which gets save game cross play with Steam games making this really appealing to Divinity fans that want to play on the go. Bethesda is porting Doom 64 to the Switch on November 22 which might be one of the best ways to play this game as it's not the cheapest game to buy on the 64. Tetris 99 is getting a bunch of all new game modes and Nintendo showed quite a bit from an all new Animal Crossing game.
What was the best part of the Nintendo Direct for you?
The big thing for me was the Jedi Outcast reveal. I had no idea that was coming to current gen with new controls.

I have Divnity: Original Sin 2 and most of the related games (I think I'm missing only one of them). I tried out the ones that came out before this one and only the one before it feel like it was worth playing, the others show their age. While I haven't played DOS2, I really believe that's it's a good game. I'm looking forward to playing it. It's on my "to play list" and I'll play it after I finish DOS. I did play a bit of DOS and I was impressed. The game/s is/are highly rated. I must admit, I'm quite impressed with how many games are coming to the Switch and the ones already on it, like CivVI, The Witcher 3, Ark: Survival Evolved, Skyrim, Terraria, Minecraft, etc. It definitely seems to have become Nintendo's go-to platform. I'm not really familiar with what people are saying about the Switch, but seeing as it's getting all these games, I imagine it's being received well. As I mentioned (to Jon & Travis), I'll have one soon (the new one w/ extended battery life and not the Lite).
There have been a lot of retro game re-releases in HD, 4K and some rebuilt from the ground up for modern systems like the new Link's Awakening Switch remake. 3D Realms has partnered up with Voidpoint to release a brand new game using a modern port of the Build Engine which was created in the 90's for games like Duke Nukem 3D and and Shadow Warrior. Ion Fury is a game very faithful to that 90's shooter vibe being that it's using that same tech ported to modern systems. It's a fun way to create something new with the old retro aesthetic and I hope more games like it are created.
LGR recently reviewed Ion Fury and he gave it a rave review!
"While Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo DC, she knows it’s time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There’s no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning."
Everyone seems to think streaming your games online just like Netflix is just around the corner. With Google Stadia's launch being sometime in November that game streaming future is coming closer but as more details surface some people aren't so excited. It's no secret that Metal Jesus is a huge retro game collector that prefers owning physical copies of games. I'm not as hardcore a collector as Jesus, but my preference is to own a physical game but I do own quite a few games on Steam and other digital stores too. That said, Metal Jesus released a video recently where he talks about why he cancelled his Google Stadia pre-order. It seems his main reason is that the 4K bandwidth use would blow his data cap usage and cause him ISP overages. Frankly playing games all day in 4K streaming from Google Stadia could be a huge problem for people with data caps whereas 1080p compressed YouTube and Netflix isn't as it takes up way less bandwidth.
That said, I really do think the idea of playing your games anywhere regardless of hardware is an extremely compelling concept to people that want to play games and not worry about what they need to buy. Will Google Stadia be ready for everyone at launch? I don't think so but if it comes with a free game I might give it a shot. Frankly my biggest problem in gaming right now isn't that I don't have games to play in an accessible way, it's that I don't have the time to play them. But really, working on Tale of the White Wyvern is just as much fun to in the end, that's not a bad thing.
1. Look at killedbygoogle.com and consider things that don’t pan out get killed. Which is fine, but considering the massive investment required for this, if the service isn’t profitable it will die, and your purchases will be lost forever.
2. This isn’t Netflix for gaming like a lot of people compare it to. It’s more iTunes for gaming. If it was a subscription for a ton of games that I can play whenever I would be all over this honestly.
3. Even if they stay afloat for 50 years, they’ve removed games from people’s Google Play accounts when they have a dispute with a publisher. You could just lose $60 because your game’s publisher decides to stop selling on Stadia.
4. The any device idea is great until you consider, how the hell are you going to play Rage 2 or something on your phone? You’d at least need a controller and even then, full console/pc games are made to look good and play well on large screens.
5. The one time I could think this would be the most useful is traveling, but what percentage of hotel WiFi you’ve used has been decent?
6. You can stream 4K/HDR video on your tv and play a 4K disc, and you can tell a lot of difference in quality. The compression will always introduce some level of quality loss. So you’re always paying for an inferior product.
7. But mostly it all comes down to ownership. You don’t own the hardware or the software with Stadia, you’re just paying for a license to use the software, that Google can revoke at any time. Digital distribution on PC at least has ways around that. Valve has said that in the event that Steam closes down, they’ll provide a way to get your games before it shuts down. Gog games are yours to do whatever with.

All good stuff to consider. Destiny 2 is going free to play at some point and I hope that transfers to Stadia because i'd like to try Stadia for free. Since the HD version will be free, I hope some game comes I can try.
But yeah, all you mention is a good reason to think more about it.
But one thing I neglected to even mention in that comment: I’ve talked myself out of preordering a couple times already. I’m interested in it just from a technical standpoint and cool factor if nothing else.

Yep. Me too. I read something that the free tier won't get any kind of free games so to try it out we'll have to buy one which i'm really hesitant to do. Hopefully they add a free to play game at some point but that wouldn't make Google any money at all.
/shrugs I guess i'll just read the reviews of it at launch.

Mostly so I can try it before I buy anything. I don't get pre-orders for this. You're ordering something brand new, you can't try beforehand that people have done early reviews on where the servers were in the same building. Not like you can go to a store and try Stadia or anything.

Nighthawk Interactive and Digital Eclipse are teaming up to re-release two of the most popular retro movies games ever, Aladdin and The Lion King. This release will be pretty special in that they will include quite a few of the various versions of both games. Aladdin will come with the Sega Genesis and Nintendo Game Boy versions and the Final Cut version. The Lion King will come with the Genesis, Nintendo SNES and Game Boy versions to round out this really incredible collection.
Nighthawk Interactive and Digital Eclipse also understand the market they are targeting as this collection will come out on Switch, PS4 and XBox One as physical versions for $30! If the ports are top notch I can't think of a better way to play these classics if you want to relive them in a new way. Oh and apparently they are being remade for full 1080p and it doesn't look like they are being stretched from 4x3!
This collection can't wait to be King and drops October 29th!
This is an absolute steal for two amazing games (six kinda). The Aladdin SNES game being missing is kinda expected, and welcome. See the awesome Portscenter rundown for more info why: https://youtu.be/gfV-uMoSSPk

Yeah. I have the SNES version but folk consider the Sega version to be superior. I bet it was very hard to get the licenses for all these games. First you need to clear with Disney then each of the development rights holders. A pretty incredible feat.
