Skyrim? Terraria? Left 4 Dead 2?
Steam's Holiday Sale is the biggest of the year so add this event to your calendar and lets talk about what you are going to get.
I'll also probably pick up another extra copy of Terraria. I gave my spare to my friend Greg (as some of you can tell from the Facebook discussion) so I need to get another to keep around for situations like that.
It's become something of a Tradition with me and my friend Jason (@JaBo) that we buy each others Christmas gifts during the steam sales. So I'll be picking up whatever I can off his wishlist as they get discounted. :P
As for what I'm hopping to get for myself, there's several games I'm going to keep an eye out for. Papers, Please looks really interesting, and Organ Trail looks like a lot of fun.
Cities in Motion 2 DLC, maybe. Looking at Bioshock Infinite and Assassin's Creed 3 and 4 too.

Papers, Please and Organ Trail are both worth getting but the game I bought recently I have been enjoying the heck out of is Pixel Junk Monsters. Plugged in two controllers and a friend and I played it two player, so much fun. Fun single and two player both actually.
We'll see what goes on sale. Most the games on my wishlist are new-ish, so I'm not sure if any of them will be discounted enough to entice me. I still own a metric crapton of games I've never played.

I have lot's of games I haven't played too, mostly from bundles. That said, I have noticed from what games I do purchase I play.
I don't buy because it's a good deal anymore, I might even hold off and buy it later just to ensure i'll actually play it. Might pay a few bucks more, but I am trying to avoid the 4,000 games unplayed story :D
I don't count bundles as much BUT I am not buying bundles if they don't contain at least one game I want to play immediately. Which means the last few bundles I have skipped entirely.

Wow, BioShock Infinite is amazing. Seriously, for $9.99 you need to pick it up. Been playing it on my Mac and it is superb. So beautiful and an awesome story. So far only a little bit in and I love it.

That's tempting, but I bought Borderland 2 on PS3 so I could play co-op with my wife and I generally have a rule about not buying the same game twice. :\ I would love to play with all you fine peeps who have it on PC though.
So far, I've bought Gone Home (which looks really interesting, but I know nothing about), Left 4 Dead 2 (for free!), NBA 2K14, Papers Please, and Tower Wars.

I am seriously considering BioShock Infinite if the price is right. I may hold out for the Holiday sale as it will most likely be cheaper BUT... I might spring for it sooner. This finally looks like a BioShock game i'll play. No matter how hard I want to play it, I can't seem to continue on with the original.

Oh and Papers Please. Not really an expensive game at all, but I do want to pick it up.
So far I've bought Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, Game Dev Tycoon and FFVII. Most excited for Game Dev Tycoon! Downloading that one first to try out. I'm hoping for an old school Rockstar BBS-type experience :)

Interested in hearing how all of those go for you. Game dev tycoon looks awesome.
I just "beat" Game Dev Tycoon. It was pretty fun. There were definitely some things that confused me for a while, so that slowed me down a bit about mid way through the game, but a really fun experience. And it's kept me up until now, I had no idea what time it was (3 am).
I just bought FEZ finally to play through. I got hammerwatch and Rogue Legacy the first day. I was gifted insurgency and Forge Quest. I'll probably be getting a few other things as well.

Nice, FEZ is great Jacob, you should really enjoy that.
I just picked up Shadowrun Returns and so far, I really like it. It's a turn based strategic text based RPG based on the Shadowrun rules and so far, I totally dig it. Not terribly far, but fun.

Sale ends tomorrow, anyone absolutely __need__ anything before it wraps up?
I am happy with what I picked up and since Starbound is dropping this Wed, I don't want to add much more to my list.

From what I've read (and I may be reading this incorrectly) if you played in the last free trial weekend you can't play in this one, at least not with the same account.
At any rate, I'm going to have to skip this one. GTAV and Terraria take precedence :)

Looks like if you wanted to pick up GW2 on sale, you can.
Guild Wars 2 will be free to play this weekend, if you are wanting to check it out join the event and you can co-ordinate playing with other community members.
Well I didn't get to spend as much time in GW2 as I had hoped, but I still got to play it enough that I can say it's pretty cool. I may not spring for this while it's full price, but if i see it go on sale I'll probably pick it up. I mostly played as a guardian which was pretty cool, and a little bit as an Engineer but not really enough to form an opinion of the class. What did you guys think?
I would agree. It was a lot of fun, when I found time. Never ended up grouping up with anyone, so I'd like to try that out sometime still. I might consider picking it up on sale at some point as well.
I played mostly as an Asura Elementalist and had a lot of fun. The Asura do seem a bit petty, fighting over intellectual property (He stole my design! I'm going to kill him!), but they were interesting. I also created a Sylvari Mesmer and had fun with that as well, but they were a bit more boring as a race.

I dug GW2 quite a bit. It was a fun game to get in and play but I honestly didn't go that deep with it. Kind of wanted a free week but it was still fun to check it out.
Yeah, a free week would have been good. I would have liked to try it out a bit more. One moment that really stood out for me was a random event that took place near the Human starting area. I tried to warp to a waypoint at the nearby garrison but was told the area was "contested." So now my curiosity was piqued, and I ran over there to see what was up. A group of centaurs had taken over the garrison and I had to break down the door to get inside. Once inside, a group of NPC's joined me to help free the garrison. Some other PC's ended up joining the fight and we all worked together (without actually being in a party, which is kinda cool) to take back the garrison.
I think I would like to pick it up, if they have a sale.

Yeah, I ran into a bunch of those random events. Two were dupes, but in one event a huge basilisk had taken over a research tower. I had to clean it out but it was WAY too high a level. Died a few times but it only costs a few copper to re-spawn at my level.
Really interested to hear more. Hopefully it'll help me decided which way I'm swinging this Christmas lol

Yeah, I think more information is good. I am not sure ill get another console from either Microsoft or Sony but I am really curious to see how it all pans out.

I think I'm going to finally pick up the AVGN game. I've been eyeing it for a while, so assuming it goes on sale I'll nab it.
I'll also probably pick up another extra copy of Terraria. I gave my spare to my friend Greg (as some of you can tell from the Facebook discussion) so I need to get another to keep around for situations like that.

Over at Amazon they're offering Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite as a bundle for 15 bucks. I'm considering that one. http://goo.gl/64gAVl
It's $20 on Steam now http://store.steampowered.com/sub/36223/
The amazon purchase might be for steam keys though :D
The amazon deal is for Steam keys, yes.
Do it. Infinite is worth the price of admission alone.
Yes, that's two of the best games of the decade and one that's pretty OK as well.
