I just watched some IGN videos and found out about Warcraft III: Reforged, which I'm looking forward to, I've never played the original W3. There's also Diablo Immortal, which is a mobile game, but I doubt my phone will play it. There's also a WOW Classic edition coming out.

Yup. I just dropped both news bits to the main page.

This is just to test out Starbound multi-player. Travis's connection is a bit slower. When we run the official server I might host it as I have a lot more up than him.
Thanks for doing this Travis, how hard was setting it up?

Very easy. Just forward a port and start it up. The password is just a matter of changing the config file.
And Blue_Element reports no lag, so maybe it's you! :)

Just FYI, there are currently some version issues. The game updated but it doesn't appear the server executable updated to the new version. I'm trying to figure that out.

OK apparently it updated while the server was running and just didn't bother to tell me about that.
Hopped on the server last night although, sadly, I was alone. ; ;
I'm guessing we all spawn on different worlds? Because the one I started on seemed like it was completely untouched, including a chest that was fairly close to the spawn point and still had loot in it. It also had a really cool underground base that I had fun looting and killing all the inhabitants of. I didn't get to fully explore it because my inventory filled up and I had decided to leave and come back later. Lots of awesome decorative items in there! When the game gets closer to release I really look forward to building some more permanent structures.
The last balancing patch seems to have worked pretty well. The amount of damage I was dealing (and taking) felt fair and reasonable. The amounts of Ore I was finding seemed good too with the exception of coal. It's not that I didn't find any coal at all, I just didn't get to fill up my fuel very much at all after I was done crafting torches and whatnot. Seeing as i can't use wood for fuel anymore that is kind of a drag.
Over all I'm very impressed with the game and especially with Chucklefish for making so many improvements on the game so rapidly. It still has a long ways to go but so far I'm very pleased.
Random observation: Last night I encountered a bird type monster whose attack consisted of vomiting blood on me... >.<
I'm considering how much I want to play it. I mean I have to check it out and play with it but I don't want to play so much of the early beta that I have no desire to play when the final version drops. That's the downside to early access games I guess.

Right. My plan is to play a bit of the early game till I get an understanding of it. Honestly not much more than those Let's Plays. Maybe do a Let's Play of my own, then kind of back off and see how it is updated and what bugs people find with it.
But yeah, you can't go back and play a game once again and "going all in hardcore style" will make the game harder to play again when it finally drops. I remember friends that played Diablo III beta over and over again loathe having to do the Skeleton King run another time when the game finally dropped.
I'm definitely going to be poking around in the game when it drops. I will not be building any grand houses until there is some permanence to our characters/worlds. :)
I doubt I'll be putting in the kind of play time I spent on Terraria until the game is a little more close to completion and the Cheerfulghost server close to reality. Then again, I started playing Minecraft during the beta and I sunk a loooot of hours in that game...

:D. Once Chucklefish promises to not break worlds and saves the CG server will start. That said, I might run a shared game for an evening just to screw around with people if there is any interest in that.
"Hey wait, Starbound is a space game, but it has medieval elements.."
Then I thought about how that could make sense in the game world. After a bit of thought I sort of pieced together things we know. You start in a spaceship hovering over a planet with no space fuel. You start with a sword, a matter manipulator, torches and seeds.
My guess is the game story is something like you were left adrift by space pirates and they took most of your tech. You come across a planet and try and get your fuel back and then hit up other planets to tech up to.... get your revenge? They have said the story is different per race, but yeah, I was thinking "how could you go from spaceships to swords?"
Or it's just all BS because its fun to tech up from sticks and rocks to nukes. Again, fun, but they are putting in some kind of story so... well I guess we will see :D

I'll post something more substantial after work, but long story short, the game is very good. Ran into a quest smashing bug right away, when you used the bow the game crashed. The devs knew about it, but yeah for what worked it worked very well. When the game finally ships, it will be great.
I'm having the hunting bow crash too. Besides that, the game seems pretty polished so far. I've seen a few glitches with the hover-text, but the bugs just make the game funny. I'm glad such a cool game like this made it to Mac.
Woah. Turns out the game only crashes with the bow if you don't pull back the bow all the way. If you hold it down until it blinks, it'll shoot like normal.
Wait, apparently it just started working for me all of a sudden. Guess it doesn't matter if you hold it all the way or not. Not sure what the cause or fix is, but it now works for me.
There was a patch to fix the bow bug, which apparently only affected OSX users.
I have explored a bit and found an underground campsite type thing, apparently inhabited by electric floaty things and weird lizard people that sound like horses. The randomness is awesome.
I feel like the first time playing Terraria, and that's a good thing. I love Terraria but even with the 1.2 update I kinda knew what to expect. There were new things to find but the core of the game was the same. This is entirely new, and I'm loving the experience of totally discovering a game like this. So much to find, and every time you learn something you end up with new questions to answer.

Yeah, the bow seems working now, I must have gotten the patch.
I just posted about my thoughts with the game and did a lets play of me traveling to a small moon. This game is freaking huge. So many planets to explore. My only gripe is how much of a pain it is to get coal to travel to other planets.
OMG, I just found out that typing emoticons in the chat, e.g. :D , :O , :'( , makes your character actually express the emotion. This is probably one of my favorite random features in the game right now.
Got to play around in game a little bit last night. So far I am really liking the game. By the time I logged in they had already patched the bug with the hunting bow, so I had no trouble with that. I did seem to have some trouble hitting mobs with the bow, but I'm not sure if that's a bug with hit detection or if my aim just really sucks. :P
Btw, did any of you guys see how sand/gravel physics work? It's actually kinda cool. They don't just fall straight down they kind of settle off to the side also. I accidentally buried myself alive by digging carelessly in some sand and causing a small avalanche. (I dug myself out, I didn't seem to take any damage or suffocate or anything while being buried in sand.)

Sand/gravel, yes I did. It's a really fun mechanic and if there are minerals in it, its pretty easy to get them all. Plus it's fun to just see it all freak out :D
Looks like we're getting craftable climbing ropes with tonight's update as well. WOOT! That was seriously one of the best additions to Terraria 1.2 and I'm glad to see it's coming to Starbound already. :D
Yeah I'm looking forward to the ropes. Hellevator here I come!

From the planets i've seen so far, digging to the bottom doesn't take much. THAT SAID, I have yet to land on a super huge planet and for those, I imagine ropes will mater ALOT.

Picking this up on day one. If there is a way I can share my username with you in game so we can try out a match I will share it with you all so we can play a game that night if we want.

So far played a few matches after work and I really dig it. Still building up a strategy that beats Easy most of the time. That said, playing against even is pretty fair as far as decks go, they just employ some dumb strategy. Apparently I do too, as I win about 70% of the time.

Not sure how you add people to your friends list in game to challenge.
I've been trying to buy this all evening, but the store won't load :(. Guess they're doing really well!

After playing quite a few matches I really like the game. It seems saving up for the scrolls pack at 1000 gold is the way to go as opposed to getting a random card at a time.
