Yeah Terraria hasn't even gotten an update since April 2017, hard to call it ongoing for this year but I think it's fair game since development is ongoing.

Frontier Developments did JW Evolution. They're kinda on the cusp. Like AA instead of AAA. I think you could reasonably count them in both camps.

Here are mine.
Best AAA: Red Dead Redemption 2 . Game of the Decade. Hat tip to God of War which I was convinced would be my GotY until I played RDR2.

Best Indie: Graveyard Keeper. I still can't drive past a graveyard without thinking about it.

Best DLC: No Man's Sky NEXT

Best Ongoing: No Man's Sky for basically killing it and coming back from the brink of hatred.

Best Mobile: Egg Inc came out in mid-2016 or I'd call it my mobile GotY. I'm going with Alto's Odyssey.

I think the only 2018 game I played this year was Revenge of the Bird King. I don't really count the re-release of Shenmue for Xbox One/PS4 a new game. I vote for Revenge of the Bird King for every category!

Best Ongoing: Starcraft 2 (manily co-op mode getting more maps and commanders)

Yes, it suffered a horrible launch, but was resolved. I also call it the most ambitious. So, Best New Ambitious Early Access Game & Most Improved: Atlas. LOL And yeah, I made up those categories, although Best Early Access seems like a good one to add, officially.

I could see the benefits but I would worry about a few things

* I think people are wary of Early Access, at least the crowd here, and don't use it much (though I could be way off on that)

* People use Early Access for different levels of testing. Some games will be amazing ideas but still quite broken, some will be practically finished, with Early Access just being used as a pre-order where you get to play it early, and some games remain in Early Access long past the point where they should be, so the developers can use it as a crutch: "Oh you're having issues? Well it's still in early access, don't worry. Here buy our new DLC for our game that hasn't been released yet!"

* It's hard to judge games that aren't done cooking yet

* Early Access devs can just disappear and leave people with a wasted purchase, and it would suck to give something the CG Early Access GotY and then it ends up being vaporware.

Avengers: Endgame Teaser Trailer!

The most important information from this trailer is seeing that the movie release date has been moved from May to April!

I'm a little underwhelmed by the title, but that's only because of all the endless speculation on what it might be.

I'm guessing Captain America's plan isn't going to work (possibly time jumping through the Quantum Realm with Ant-Man?). "Because I don't know what I'm going to do if it doesn't" probably will lead to a sacrifice that he has to make to save everyone else.

This does make me wonder how Scott got out. I was kinda assuming someone from the Avengers would get him out but they seem to be surprised that he’s alive.

Someone posted a comic that all Scott would need to do is get small, fly into Thanos’s butt, and get big again and we’d be done. So... I doubt they’re going that direction.

Also, someone said at the end of Ant Man there are two dust clouds and that The Wasp wasn't directly shown to be dusted therefore she might not be? Could be a fun surprise that she is in Endgame.

Also makes sense they are gonna push back this movie, it's huge and they had a year to finish it.

Another wild speculation:
Cassie (Ant-Man's daughter) isn't dusted, and somehow she finds the van and is able to pull him out of the Quantum realm. He and Cassie then drive cross-country to Avengers HQ, but no one is there. They do find Shuri and Hawkeye and form the Secret Avengers. Then there's a time jump, a new bad guy shows up to earth and Captain America and Scarlet Witch try to fight him "This will work because I don't know what else we'd do," lose, then find out that Ant-Man is still alive from the archive footage, then track him down, finding Hawkeye/Ronin and the rest of the Secret Avengers.

I'm not sure how Stark fits into this though.

I believe the Russo brothers (or someone else close to the movie) confirmed that Shuri survived the snap, but we now know that they lie about upcoming movies occasionally, so who knows lol. In the trailer it looks like Scott Lang, Peter and Shuri are listed as "missing." I think they're all unaccounted for and probably assumed dusted, but not confirmed.

Between her missing and claims that she's still alive, that's where I'm guessing she has gone underground with other former Avengers.

Valve Discontinues The Steam Link

Looks like Valve isn't making any more of it's Steam Linux streaming mini boxes you can use to play your PC games on your TV. It's currently marked down to $2.50 on Steam right now and it looks like when they sell out you won't be able to buy them any more. Valve continues to be committed to it's Steam Link Android App but hasn't been able to release it on the Apple app store after they initially submitted it due to a violation of the App store policy. Hopefully Valve can work out something with Apple because I've recently replaced my Steam Linux under my TV with my Wii U. I always thought the Steam Link was a cool device but now that Steam streaming comes installed... Read All
