The place for conversation that doesn't make sense to talk about in any specific game in our list. Think of General Discussion as a "catch all" for conversations about gaming, game culture or anything else worth sharing.

If you read Cheerful Ghost regularly then you know of our love for FTL and one big part of what makes that game so special is the music by Ben Prunty. Ben just recently released a new collection of music he wrote as part of his live music production Twitch stream called "Music Workbench" on Bandcamp.

"During Music Workbench, I make music live on twitch, talk about my creative and technical processes, and answer questions from viewers. The purpose of the show is to help demystify the music production process, which too often is seen as pure wizardry.

Music Workbench happens every Saturday at 2pm Pacific Time at twitch.tv/benprunty

Season 11 of Mystery Science Theater 3000 has dropped on Netflix and all 14 episodes are ready to watch for your riffing pleasure. The first episode of season 11 riffs on the 1961 Danish monster movie Reptilicus and it's a great first start to the season! Reptilicus is a perfect "good bad" movie that is interesting enough but bad enough to feel just right for MST3K.

While I can't comment yet on watching the rest of the season I can say that the first episode is a great start that seems to carry on the legacy of the show into a new era. One huge upgrade for the new season of MST3K is that it is now shot in 16x9 aspect ratio. With the original 90's show it was filmed in... Read All

You know Nintendo I get it. The Switch is ultra popular and you want to focus on making those and so when you said you were going to discontinue the NES Classic I understood but it still made me sad. See Nintendo i'm bummed because like many people, I couldn't actually buy one. Sure I could have camped out at 5am at Target for a chance to get one but like many people I just figured you'd keep up with demand eventually and Classics would be plentifully stocked on store shelves for everyone to get one... maybe two each! Because the NES Classic is a great idea! What's not to love about a low cost system with 30 classic NES games included? Everyone loved this thing and... Read All

Netflix dropped the trailer for the new season 11 of Mystery Science Theater 3000 today and it looks... bonkers incredible. As a longtime MSTie from watching it late night on Comedy Central in the 90's I can say that getting a new season is pretty magical. I bought the huge pack of episodes on Vimeo, funded the Kickstarter and bought a Tom Servo kit because... you know... it's the greatest show of all time and it all needed to be done. The work that needs to be done now though is unpacking that new trailer which you need to watch right now so stop reading and get to clicking!

In the not too distant future the brand new Mystery Science Theater 3000 season will drop on Netflix bringing this classic show back to the fans and an entirely new audience. It will release on Netflix and to Kickstarter backers on April 14th, which is a bit odd as I thought Kickstarter backers would get a few days lead time but at least this way everyone can see it at the same time. Joel also released the new cast photo above featuring the new star of the show Jonah Ray playing Johan Heston, Felicia Day as Kinga Forrester, Patton Oswalt as Son of TV's Frank, Hampton Yount as Crow and Baron Vaugn as Tom Servo. There has been a lot of secrecy around the new episodes so... Read All

Jack and Rich (from Previously Recorded/RedLetterMedia) and Josh (frequent guest) play WWE 2K16 in a three-way brawl in The Battle of The Ladders. Jack and Josh have created characters that look like the two of them and Rich plays an actual character. It's stupid and hilarious. Enjoy!

As the wait for the new season of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Netflix continues(i've heard rumors of a March release) I am continuing my journey of watching each original episode in order. I just finished season 6, which to date is my least favorite season. All that said it does contains some great episodes like Code Name: Diamond Head, Kitten with a Whip and High School Big Shot. The season 6 finale is Samson VS The Vampire Women and is the last episode to feature Dr Forresters assistant TV's Frank. Samson VS The Vampire Women is a crazy movie and Frank leaving the show adds a more somber tone to the episode. In the MST3K timeline MST3K The Movie came after... Read All

It's now 2017 and the Cheerful Ghost Roundtable is here to ring in the new year! We always start things off talking about what we're playing which is a fun mash of the new Nintendo Classic, Ocarina of Time 3D & Let it Die. Moving quickly into the fresh news of the day being the reveal of the full title of "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi." What does this new title mean, why is the title red and will Jar-Jar be finally revealed as a Sith? Finally we end things off with our discussion of the Nintendo Switch dropping our thoughts on the new system and if we will be picking it up.

This is a special episode in that Scrypt and I stayed on longer at the end to have... Read All

One cool thing about owning a Steam Controller is the ability to customize it for each game in your Steam library. Say you don't like the standard controller mapping for Terraria? You can change them it your liking or use a popular community control scheme to suit your needs. The native Steam Controller configurator has been a really cool part of Steam and in a recent Steam update Valve finally opened it up to other controllers.

"Added XBox 360, Xbox One, and Generic X-Input controller configurator support. This allows all recognized controller types to use the advanced mapping features of the Steam Controller Configurator. Note that because X-Input currently lacks... Read All
