Is it true that Breath of the Wild won't be out until next year, when the NX releases (presumably)? If so, I'd rather not have to buy a Wii U, if I don't have to ;)

Sweet!! Yeah, Breath of the Wild is supposed to be released in March, from what I've read.

I wonder if the new Pokemon games will run fine on the old 3DS or if they'll need to be played on the New 3DS.

Yeah. Hyrule Warriors on the 3DS doesn't seem to necessarily require the New 3DS, but from what I've heard and read, it has trouble running on the older models.

As for Pokemon Sun and Moon, Vinny and I have already discussed which one of us is going to get which game. I'm going to buy both games, one for each of us. Moon is going to be for me. Popplio is likely to be the starter I pick, as I often start with Water-types, if for nothing else because of the blue. :)

Is anyone else watching the Breath of the Wild demos, and getting really annoyed by the new item pickup sound?

@Scrypt, I haven't watched enough to pay attention to the sounds, perhaps I will watch more of them.

Honestly, it doesn't take me much to sell me on a Zelda game and from what little I've seen and read about Breath of the Wild, I'm completely sold.

@Jon, the art style looks incredibly like Wind Waker. I wonder if that will make some people less interested. From what I remember from WW's release, a lot of people seemed to complain about the art style. I, however, loved it. The one thing I noticed was that the water didn't seem to match the art style, but it was still beautiful.

I also read that both Wii U and NX versions of the game will be exactly the same (see link below). That's great news, to me as a Wii U owner. It means, I don't have to buy an NX. I'm usually excited about whatever console Nintendo dishes out, but from what I've read about the NX, it's outside of my scope of interest, meaning I'm not currently interested in it.

This was huge. Such a huge event. So many good games. Not worried at all that they didn't talk hardware, besides PSVR (that's 50 games in the launch window, Oct-Jan, by the way). All about the games, and they look stunning. Love that extended gameplay from Horizon: Zero Dawn. Norse God of War!! With a third-person combat system!! The new Quantic Dream game looks impressive, of course. Insomniac, please bring back fluid, city-wide web-swinging, a la Spider-man 2. That (exclusive) Kojima game announce was unexpected, and will likely be best game he's ever made. He looked quite happy to be on that stage, free from Konami's chains.

Whose buying a PS4? Is everyone buying a PS4 now?

I'll freely admit that I haven't really been paying much attention to Sony or Microsoft. I only have a very small interest in getting a PS4 and that's only because of FFXV, FFVII: Remaster, and the new (anticipated) Kingdom Hearts. Everything else is just outside of my radar and thusly ignored. Sure, maybe other things would interest me if I looked into them, but otherwise I have no interest in anything else I've seen. While slightly tempted to get a PS4 for those games, I more strongly feel like waiting until their released on Steam. Knowing my lovely PC, I'm sure you can understand my hesitation. :)

Psh, God of War is not showing up on my radar. Haha. Yeah, those games haven't been confirmed for PC, as far as I know either, but I imagine they'll come eventually.

Steep does look amazing. Very reminiscent of Skate. For Honor still looking strong. New South Park looks hilarious, and fun to play. Star Trek: Bridge Crew might be a day one buy. VR adventures with your own crew in the Star Trek universe?! Yes, please! Cool that it's coming to all major VR platforms.

Skyrim: SE, Prey, and Dishonored 2. Arkane is killing it this year, and I can not wait to play their games. I'm glad that Prey seems to be a reboot than a sequel; maybe more of a spiritual successor. Arkane has a beautiful talent for melding rich story with fluid action mechanics that are really fun to execute. If they can distinguish Prey as a unique experience...they'll be my new favorite studio (besides Hello Games) :).

No, that was misleading on my part. I should have broken that up. I'm excited about those three announcements, but specifically with what Arkane is doing with their games. Sorry!

That Skyrim Special Edition looks amazing. Hopefully it works very smoothly on PS4 :).

I didn't realize that (I must have tuned that out while my brain was preoccupied with shiny graphics updates). I don't know if my PC can handle the SE, but if so, that's a much better (cheaper) route :).

I finished FFX (HD Remaster) and Doom. Now I'm playing Fallout 4, because of the Far Harbor DLC. However, I haven't started it yet, instead I'm going around collecting a bunch of stuff like the bobbleheads and magazines I've missed. I'm going to go after some of those great weapons and stuff, too. I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to attempt to complete all the misc. quests.

Once I finish w/ Fallout 4 I'm moving on to The Witcher 3 again because it just had a DLC released as well. Maybe after that I'll play FFX-2 (HD Remaster).

I'm still playing a bit of Ark, but not much. I got on the server a while ago and helped with some things. I also started a new single player game on The Center map, which is now an official mod. I'm interested in other mods, so I may start another new game with those (particularly Annunaki Genesis).

Yes, I finished The Witcher 3 and I absolutely love it! The story was quite epic, I cared a lot about the main characters. There are a lot of quests, so there's plenty to do. I do strongly recommend it.

I just finished Dishonored (finally), and found it to be quite good. Now I've moved onto Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which I've had to start over because I can't remember what was going on when I left off. Also picked up Oxenfree on the PS4, which I can't tell yet if I like. Rocket League is ever-present. I really want to get on that Doom train, but it will have to wait.

Because of recently binging and catching up on Game of Thrones, I've also been visiting Skyrim, not so much to play through it, but simply to be in that environment. It feels like an extension of that Song of Ice and Fire universe, in a way.

The Director's Cut is what I'm playing, and a secondary reason for starting over. I think it was a free upgrade through Steam a while back. It's hard going from Dishonored, with such smooth movement mechanics, to DE:HR, especially since both are heavy-leaning stealth-optional. DE:HR is a bit more cumbersome, but good on gadgets!

Is anyone playing, or considering getting into Overwatch? I know a few of us played the beta. I never took advantage of the PS4 beta, but with the $20 price difference on PC, I think I'd rather that route, if I took the step. I definitely enjoyed the beta, but it seems like everyone playing is completely smitten with it.

I didn't really enjoy the first Witcher game. The second was better, but the third was absolutely wonderful.

Interesting. Yeah, I installed it via Steam before I got my new GPU. I have it run at startup. Windows says it's running, but I don't see it unless I load it myself.

What's wrong with the multiplayer in Doom?

Also, I was understanding that Overwatch was basically Team Fortress 3, not MOBA-esque, so curious about the comparisons to League and DoTA :(.

Shoot, Ark is my most played game at 1074 hours. But, I uninstalled that app and reinstalled the one directly downloaded from EVGA's mirror link.

I overlooked Overwatch. Some of my Ark friends played it, so I asked them about it and got my understanding of it from them. It looks a bit like Splatoon in the way that you have to wait online for other players to play w/ and against. I haven't played it either, I just know from watching Vinny play it. I liked shooters back in the old Doom and Quake days, but I haven't really been into them as much. Although I'm into Fallout, it kind of counts as being in that category, but I think it's so much more than that. Right now i don't have any interest in Overwatch, maybe that would change if I looked into it and watched a video of someone playing it (which is how my interest in the new Doom was born).

I haven't tried multiplayer in the new Doom yet, either. I think it'd be fun to play a co-op match against demons, but I generally don't like PVP kinds of games. If anyone plays Doom multiplayer, let me know how ti goes and whether or not there's a co-op option. If so, I wouldn't mind playing with someone, I love Doom!

As for TF2, that's what Vinny's been playing lately. I got an invite from a friend to play it over a year ago (maybe more) and I haven't tried it yet. Yet another game I have no current interest in, which could possibly changed by watching a YouTube video about it.

This is awesome! The "why buy more than once" seems to be the growing focus for days soon to come. Microsoft and Sony (not cooperatively) are hinting at embracing that philosophy going forward with more rapid, cohesive hardware iterations, ditching the generational cycle. Having a consistent Xbox OS, or PS OS, could make it much more appealing for consumers to stay loyal to a gaming environment, if their games would last longer than a specific systems lifespan, or, as in this case with GOG/Steam, make it more appealing to invest in more than one environment.

@AdamPFarnsworth, GOG provides great bonus content with game purchases, sometimes including such things as PDF game manuals, avatars, soundtracks, wallpapers, dev diaries, reference cards, maps, etc. #4 on the GOG Connect FAQ answers "is there a difference in games" with: "Importing your game will get you the complete GOG.com release – just as if you had bought it normally." I presume this to mean the bonus content would unlock as well, just as if you purchased the game through GOG.
