Diablo III is an action role-playing game that takes place throughout the dark fantasy world of Sanctuary.

You play a hero who engages in fast-paced combat that tests your reflexes and rewards tactical decisions. As you slay hordes of monsters and challenging bosses, you grow in experience and ability, learning new skills and acquiring items of incredible power.

Looking forward to being able to upgrade lower level gems to higher for 2. Unsure the increase in repairs for Inferno is the right call but ill know more when I enter those levels. Overall a good set of fixes.

This game continues to amaze me. What follows is a somewhat disjointed collection of thoughts.

Nightmare difficulty with my Monk (Capuchin. Get it? A Capuchin MONKey?) has proven fairly easy. Jon, if you're reading this, you probably doubt me when I say that due to how many times I died when we were playing, but with a quick gear fix everything is smoother sailing. I have been reading up on builds and how to optimize things for my class, so I will probably have a powerhouse when all is said and done. I have gotten barely past the Skeleton King in act 1, and I'm at level 37. I've amused myself going back through and playing boss fights in Normal with my monk now. It's... Read All

Ive been trawling the internets for better builds for my Witch Doctor in Nightmare mode and beyond. I had a pretty good pet / acid rain build that was fine but wasn't really working out too well in Nightmare mode so I changed it. This is how I play my Witch Doctor now at level 39 based on recommendations from people can can solo Inferno.

First thing is you need the best weapon you can get. This often means the best two hander you can find. This might not make sense as you might think the Witch Doctor needs a shield or the special shaman carriable shrunken head totems. All your spells, pets and skill damage per second is based off your attack so to hit the hardest with... Read All

What can I say about Diablo 3 that hasn't been said already? Is it a fantastic game? Yep. Is it beautiful? Yep. Do I think they improved on the hack n slash game formula they already solidified in Diablo and Diablo 2? Yep. Is the story great? Its fine. Do you feel like a bad-ass in the game? Yep.

So that ends my formal review of the game. I guess it goes without saying that I don't like formal reviews of the game that go over how I rate certain aspects of the game. I think its more interesting for me to know what actual people think about a game and if this site is proof, people seem to really love Diablo 3.

That all said, there are a few things I haven't seen talked... Read All

I'm giving my wrist a rest. I had the day off today, and with the exception of a few errands and a call or two when things went wrong at work, I've been playing Diablo 3.

I think I'm approaching the end of act 2. As amazed as I was with the pacing in Act 1, it's like it just keeps getting better. The enemies keep ramping up their difficulty as I level, obviously, but the sense of your power growing is present throughout. One of my pet peeves with games is when the progression never feels like you're progressing. This avoids that stagnation in a major way, and I can't even put my finger on why.

From what I've heard, the pacing just keeps getting better.

I am going to pack a few things into this post. I couldn't go too long without talking about Diablo III!

"Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that as of the first 24 hours of Diablo III’s release, more than 3.5 million copies had been sold, setting the new all-time record for fastest-selling PC game. That number does not include the more than 1.2 million players who received Diablo III as part of signing up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion. Altogether, more than 4.7 million gamers around the world were poised to storm Sanctuary on day 1 of Diablo III’s release -- representing the biggest PC-game launch in history."

Wow. Thats pretty impressive. I... Read All

A View Point of the Diablo Noob

Being a seasoned MMO player and new to the Diablo style of Action RPG I was not sure how I would like this game. From a player who has enjoyed many MMO’s and with limited amount of time to invest each week to play each week I am very selective on what games I play. I grew up knowing of the Diablo franchise but because of rules I was not able to play that game.

The avid WoW player that I am I signed up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass. I mainly got it because there was a mount and a guaranteed Mist of Panderia beta access. Also this game Diablo 3 came with it. That was nice, I wasn’t sure if I would even play it. I was still investing... Read All

This post isn't really a D3 review, I just want to share my current character as he sits today.

I typically like the summons classes so the Witch Doctor seemed like a no brainer to me. The above image is "SnuggyBunny" as he sits right this second. My current skills for SnuggyBunny are: darts, zombie arms, spider queen, poison zombie dogs and horrify. The slowdown that occurs when you zombie arm/eel an area is the basis of how I play the Witch Doctor. Basically I try to get the enemies into a choke-point or slow them such that I can pick them off from a distance. When they are slowed, I toss in the Spider Queen and then start to use the poison darts. My zombie dogs train... Read All
