Today we announce the Cheerful Ghost Borderlands 2 Haiku Contest
To celebrate the upcoming Borderlands 2 launch on September 18th, Cheerful Ghost is having a Borderlands 2 Haiku Contest. You have two chances to win a copy of Borderlands 2 on Steam and the details are as follows:
We are also going to be giving away a second copy of Borderlands 2 to the Cheerful Ghost user that creates the coolest Borderlands 2 Haiku. The winner will be determined by which Haiku gets the most “+1” comments from other users. To post your Haiku for consideration, add Borderlands 2 to your game list and post your Haiku with Borderlands 2 as the game category for your post.
Feel free to share your Haiku post over Twitter, Facebook and Google+ to allow your friends and family the ability to vote for you. Due to practical considerations, only “+1” comment votes count that are posted directly to the Cheerful Ghost site.
Each person may only vote once. If you vote multiple times, we will disregard each vote over the first one we count.
Each Cheerful Ghost user can only submit one Haiku to be considered.
Please format your Haiku appropriately, for more information on that see the always amazing Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiku
Deadline for Haiku Contest entries and votes are September 15th @ 4PM EST!
If you have any questions on the contest, feel free to ask in the comments below.
Gearbox recently released a stripped down retro version of Borderlands 2 you can play in your browser. You can choose from one of the 4 new Borderlands 2 characters and fight hordes of enemies in an area 2d shooter. From the handful of games I played, I chose Salvador and made it to level 16. There is a fair amount of gun types to choose from but I seemed to prefer the machine guns to the others. Shotguns seemed to be a bit underpowered as the intial blast is strong but they took too long to reload.
Its a fun game to try out in anticipation for Borderlands 2 launch this September 18thand you can play it here: http://www.wubwub.eu/demake.php

If you strip the "/demake.php" off the end of that domain, it looks like there are a few more things that will become available as time marches onward to the Borderlands 2 launch. Should be interesting. More as it develops.
Wow, sorry about fading out. I made it 2 levels and then got distracted. I have played it a couple of times since, same thing. I must not be a real gamer =)

New Borderlands 2 trailer dropped this morning. This one features the villain Handsome Jack and showcases a little of the four playable classes.
Can't wait to head back to Pandora. Thinking of playing the Gunzerker or Assassin at launch. What class will you roll?

A popular video game site recently wrote an article about everything they knew about Borderlands 2. Its a really great high level primer on Salvador The Gunzerker, Maya The New Siren, Zero the Assassin and Axton the Soldier. It also goes into detail a bit about the arch villain Handsome Jack and the other enemies you will fight this time around on Pandora.
If you have read everything ive posted on Borderlands 2 so far, not much is new, but if you missed a few posts and want a good view of what the game will be, you should check it out.

Recently read a cool article on Mashable about 10 awesome additions to Borderlands 2.

Snip:
"New baddies include Threshers and Foreman's personal favorite, the Goliath. Goliath is a monstrous enemy with the singular focus to kill you. Literally – all Goliath variants wear helmets that give them tunnel-vision to destroy whatever is in front of them. Shooting its helmet off will send a Goliath into a blind rage, and it will punch the nearest character, even taking down another Goliath, a Marauder, a teammate, your grandmother, whatever"
Sick. No literally, sick, the picture of the Goliath is kind of sad and disgusting. A robot head and human body? Wow.
I'm going to be getting this on PS3 as well. Can't wait to adventure on Pandora again! Although I still need to go back and finish the last two expansions for the first Borderlands :P

I need to beat any expansion, just never had the time. Can't play it now as my friend is borrowing it. That said, ill prob go back and play them some day.
I just pre-ordered Borderlands 2 for the PS3 at Gamestop with all extra goodies. Radtastic.
This past week was San Diego Comic Con and in typical fashion 2k was around to demo Borderlands 2.
A few morsels:
"It was really the Commando that did it for me, though the Assassin's pretty fantastic as well (more on him momentarily). But the Commando, with his wonderfully helpful turrets and outlandishly explosive upgrades, really won me over."
Go on....
"Having only messed with Roland a bit in the first game, I'll just say that while his turret stuff was neat, Axton (the Commando) is a whole other deal entirely. We were shown characters at levels 25 and 35, so we got to go pretty... Read All

"Having only messed with Roland a bit in the first game, I'll just say that while his turret stuff was neat, Axton (the Commando) is a whole other deal entirely. We were shown characters at levels 25 and 35, so we got to go pretty deep into one of the individual skill trees for each character. For the Commando, it's all about how you build out your turrets. You'll of course start out with minor upgrades like ammo counts and cool down periods, but as you start going further in, you'll be able to do all sorts of wacky stuff. You can add grenade launchers, rocket blasters, and even stack a second turret on top of your main one, with all upgrades included. There's even an option to make your turret stick to any surface, including walls and ceilings. When you're trying to avoid getting swarmed by rabid creatures, this can come in handy."
Awesome. All the classes in Borderlands 2 seem solid to me. Interested in the Ninja, Commando and I believe I will start as the Gunzerker for my first character.
Brand new Borderlands 2 trailer called "Wimoweh" dropped this morning. The trailer showcases some new stuff from the game briefly. Namely Lilith, the Siren from the original Borderlands is present and has Angel Wings? Also a new largish female character smashing a few things in a trash compactor? Sick. In the end its awesome to see new game footage but I would have used a different song.
I prefer Claptrap bringing the Wub Wub to The Lion Sleeps personally. Speaking of Wub Wub, you will be able to buy that as a shirt soon:
Update: Song stuck in head... Must cleanse with fire....

"Borderlands 2 will reward veterans of the first Borderlands with exclusive character customization elements -- here's a look at the character heads and skins that are unlocked when Borderlands 2 detects save data from the original Borderlands!"
Wow. So that ups the extra stuff you can get by a bit. If you pre-order the game not only do you get the premiere club goodies and if your pre-order from Gamestop you get even more. But if you have a save file from a previous game you get a few more extras now.
Waiting for them to announce the bonus for booting Borderlands 2 for the first time. I really like the Sledge bonus head.
