Assault on Dragon Keep Walkthrough w Anthony Burch

Revision 3 recently posted a video with Tara Long and Anthony Burch the lead writer for Borderlands 2 going over the new Assault on Dragon Keep DLC. The walkthrough contains some mad spoilers but its fun to see the game unfold with Burch's commentary.

The new D&D influenced DLC will hit June 25th.

I never finished BL2, and I feel a little ashamed of that. Spent so much time in the first game, that I got a little burned out when it came to the second. I don't know. This expansion, however, looks mighty awesome. May have to dive back in.

Yeah, I chip at it a bit at a time but largely I find the main campaign to be way too long between interesting bits. The writing is good, but I think the smaller bite sized DLC packs might be more my style too.

That said, perhaps another reason is I crushed so hard on the first game and second one was essentially the same kind of thing with better writing.

Anyways, Dragon Keep looks good and I want to give it a spin at some point.

That's exactly it! The first game was amazing, fresh and new. Played through several times, with multiple characters, and sometimes would just grind for weapons. Then the second came, and I was really into it, but lost interest somewhere along the way, and couldn't get back in.

Right. I chip away on BL2 a bit at a time because it fun in bursts but, yeah it doesnt have me like BL1 did. Kind if been wanting to go back and play the original lately too.

More Details about Krieg Emerge

Krieg is an upcoming playable class Gearbox is adding to Borderlands 2. This new class looks pretty awesome and does a few things differently. With the other classes when you run out of life, if you can come back to life immediately if you make a kill. With Krieg when you run out of life he switches to suicide mode where he can toss around dynamite sticks and blow himself up to try and take out bad guys. The video above illustrates the class really well so I recommend you check it out.

Anthony Burch may have leaked BL2 DLC title

Anthony Burch, whether intentionally or accidentally, tweeted this picture of a guy sleeping at Gearbox earlier today. It was quickly removed, but some fast people snagged it before it was taken down. See that in the background? Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep.

In the teaser earlier this year, we saw Tiny Tina leading the vault hunters in a D&D style game, and this looks to fit with the theme. There are already theories on what "Dragon's Keep" might be, some even going so far to propose that this is the title she gave to the Hyperion Moon Base.

News from the Gearbox panel at PAX East!

I watched most of the Gearbox panel and read up on the stuff I missed. Some exciting stuff coming!

First, next week there's a new playthrough being added for everyone. In addition, a content pack including a level cap increase to 61 and a new class of weapons, Pearlescent. This will be free to season pass subscribers, and $5 otherwise. That said, if you don't buy the new pack, good luck surviving a third playthrough.

Kreig is the new vault hunter, releasing in May! He's a bandit psycho who gets rewarded for doing crazy stuff in battle. He'll cost $5, the same as Gaige, and will be entirely separate from the season pass. As rumored, he is melee focused, and has a pretty... Read All

Not part of the Season Pass? Huh. I don't know if I would have done that but there we are.

The guy looks amazing and I can't wait to get all the DLC in one shot. Kind of held off on the season pass, now it seems like ill wait a bit longer for all of it wrapped up together.

The new character isn't, but the new campaign DLC is. I'm editing my post to reflect that.

And that's the same way Gaige worked, but if you pre-ordered the game you got her for free. They were pretty up-front with the season pass that it would be for four campaign addons, so I hold no ill will against them for that.

Also editing the post to add in some news about the loot chest, which looks beautiful.

Fair point on the DLC, but.. I don't know on one hand YAY more Borderlands 2. On the other hand Yay the game costs about a hundred bucks to get everything.

Yeah, I've been kinda hating DLC in general lately. I've pretty much decided to wait until almost everything is released to get back into BL2 (at least my main character), because my Assassin's Creed 3 mode, for example, has passed and even though the new Tyranny of King George DLC interests me, I can't get motivated to play it.

I can't hate it too much, since this *is* all stuff developed post-release, and I don't really feel like my $60 was wasted on just the game itself. I just almost wish that we would get everything and then it's done with the exception of major expansion packs, like the Shivering Isles for Oblivion. The periodically released smaller DLCs just don't hold my interest as much.

I used to wait to buy this stuff until the GoTY was $60. I might consider doing that again for certain stuff again. For some stuff, I totally am, like Max Payne and Farcry 3.

Deep beneath Pandora, an experiment has escaped

At SXSW, Gearbox announced that a new playable character is coming to Borderlands 2! There aren't really any details yet, as it's currently just a teaser, but the character looks to be a beefy melee focused character.
