Maybe I've fallen for the trick, but just seeing it in action makes it feel that much more tempting. I'm not sure if I'll get it, but I haven't ruled it out completely. It would be awesome if it wasn't strictly limited to those 30 games. It would be sweet if it included the entire NES library (although probably more expensive).

I'm not sure what other games I'd love to see on it, but I agree that DuckTales should be one of them. (BTW I wrote "Duck Tales" in a previous post and the Internet shows it's name as "DuckTales," so that's why I've written it that way here.)

I'm not really interested in the party update, but I really like this picture! I also love the "when we run our next server" part of your post here! I miss playing Terraria with my fellow Cheerful Ghosts. Our next server should definitely be on Expert Mode. I'm confident that we can handle it together.

Well me and Vinny together have done pretty well on our Expert mode world, surprisingly. I've enjoyed almost all of the Expert mode rewards, but not all of them. The Slime mount most definitely helps against Eater of Worlds, although that's not the Expert mode reward. That one makes slimes friendly, even if you attack them. The Bee Gun is a great weapon against Skeletron, although again not an Expert mode reward. I've defeated some of the Expert mode bosses on my own, but not all of them. We haven't gone up against the Wall of Flesh yet, but they're definitely tougher. I think we were only able to defeat King Slime because we had a nearby hole in a hill where he couldn't get to us, but we could hit him with boomerangs, although his slime companions came after us. Still, with two or three of us with the right gear and the arena we usually use, we should be good. But yeah, it would be more difficult for casual play and those who join in late or don't play much, I can see that as an issue.

Oh and since we're talking about our Terraria server again, I have to ask, "when?" LOL

An interesting environmental change. I wonder if they'll just be purely cosmetic or if perhaps they'll give a debuff. It does snow instead of rain in the snowy biomes, but a blizzard would be cool. Maybe they could add hurricanes for the beaches, too.

I know the next update has to do with the underground desert as can be seen in one of her other tweets, perhaps even on the forum and wiki.

Yeah it all looks good, but I agree with Jon's comment after mine. I was going to say that all this is nice, but I'm more eagerly awaiting Terraria: Otherworld and Terraria 2. I want more Terraria damn it and other games just aren't up to par. LOL

Steam says I've already clocked about 300 hours in the game, so I've obviously played it quite a few times before 1.0 came out. At first, I think I went with the Avian, but once the Novakid race was released, I've been sticking with that one. I'm not really playing it much differently than before with the exception of the new story quest line. I've done some side quests, particularly for the tech upgrades. I still have all of my current crafting stations on my ship, but my ship can't really hold any more, so I may have to expand on to the planet.

I thought the opening was cool, although not very unique. How many games open up with waking up and running late for something? Still, I'm ok with that. Seeing the tentacles was cool because I remembered that was a planetary biome. I just watched a video (https://youtu.be/aDezPK-fceo) which explained many changes that are included in 1.0, like planets now have a variety of biomes instead of just focusing on one on the whole planet.

The Outpost seemed to run not very smoothly, so I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and turned on Vsync for the game. I haven't tested whether or not that fixed the issue. I've also run into an issue where I clicked "take all" on a chest and didn't get everything until I clicked it twice. Also, I don't know how to tell how many pixels (currency) I have.

Anyway, it's cool and so far I like what I've seen. It's nice to have been a part of an Early Access game and watching it evolved to 1.0.

I think having a narrative helps drive progression. Telling a story is cool. However, Terraria doesn't have that same kind of narrative and it's perfect as it is, so I see your point.

Yeah there are ship upgrades, but from what I saw, you get those now from having crew members, so the process isn't as straightforward as before. Perhaps my understanding of the new way is incorrect. I do some pieces, but I don't think that option is available to me just yet.

I did finally build on my starting planet. I made a small place for some of my crafting pieces of equipment. I also bought a new Colony Deed and got someone to move in. Then I had to help her rescue a friend, who also moved in. Now she wants me to build a new place with furniture that a Glitch would like to get one to move in.

You still don't need fuel if you're travelling to planets within the solar system you're already in. That's quite helpful. I scanned most of the things I needed for a quest, but have to find the remaining things I'm missing.

I just bought the game for my son, he's working on getting it installed.

Initial reaction: Free?! Wow well I guess there's no real need to question whether or not I should get into it. Honestly, I haven't been interested, but we'll see how that changes after I check it out. Part of that lack of interest stems from the fact that I don't have a smartphone. But, since it's now on PC and free, I suppose I can give it a look.

Thanks for letting us know it was available and basically how to get it. I expected it on Steam. I don't really mind having to install a Bethesda launcher for it because I really like Bethesda. I wonder what else they could possibly have on there that isn't on Steam.

So, it's a free game, but you can pay for it if you want more out of it? From what I've seen, it seems to be very popular and was also very successful as a mobile app, so again it seems as there's little reason to question whether or not it's a good game. I'll check it out and look forward to seeing what others have to say about it, too.

Ok, I'm downloading the game. It seems the only other part of the launcher includes the Creation Kit for Fallout 4, which lets you create mods for that game. I don't see a friends list either, so right now it seems like a simple game launcher. I imagine they'll expand upon it later. Maybe the game will be available on Steam eventually.

Another launcher?! Ugh. I was interested, until you mentioned that. I'm also of the "this is getting ridiculous" camp. I've got all of the ones you listed, Travis, plus a couple of indie game portals (one for Itch.io, and another that I can't remember the name of, and am too lazy to boot my PC to check).

I get it. Everyone wants to control their content and revenue stream. That's more than fair. I just wish there was a better way.

So far, I like it. I haven't spent a whole lot of time playing it, but I think I'm enjoying it. Right now I'm waiting for one of my dwellers to give birth. I have what I think is a Legendary dweller, Harkness. That's all on my second vault. I started out with a different one and had a lot more going on. Eventually, I realized that you can merge rooms, so I decided to build a new vault and instead build using that game mechanic. So I have merged water rooms together on one level while my merged food rooms are on another. I have two power rooms merged together, but the third didn't merge because I upgraded the first two. So, hopefully when I upgrade the third room it will then merge.

It's kind of a slow, mostly relaxing game. It might be cool if you had some control of how fast time passes. I had an objective to send a dweller out, but it took me a while before I learned how to check on her (without and Overseer's office). When I did figure it out (the vault icon), she was dead, but luckily I got to revive her and now I'm waiting on her to get back to the vault. It kind of seems like time passes even when I have saved and closed the game. Often I find that when I return I have resources to collect.

I don't know if I'll bite on this, but it does look interesting. There are some games listed that I'm interested in playing again, especially Dr. Mario and the Super Mario Bros. games. As for the Zelda games, I have those for the Gamecube, they came on a pre-order bonus disc I got for Zelda: Wind Waker. I haven't tried playing any of these games on the Virtual Console. Still, it seems interesting. I guess I'll just wait and see. I don't like the idea that these are the only games that the system will play, but I do like the idea that it will connect to your TV with an HDMI cable.

Such a great lineup of games, too. With HDMI connectivity built in, this is very appealing. I love that it's priced the same as a standard new game. You could get the new Call of Duty, or a nice collection of gaming history!

Here are some extra details if you're interested, including that it has no Internet connectivity, no external storage, no additional games (other than the ones listed), and the drive bay does not open. It also begs the question of whether or not we'll see a similar product for the SNES and N64.
