Read All When the Whispers of the Old Gods expansion launched the new Standard and wild formats became permanent in Hearthstone creating a yearly migration of older cards to the wild set. The details of the upcoming standard rotation hit today and Blizzard repeated which card sets were rotating out and also a bunch of new information that should shake things up even further.
Firstly the Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers cards are rotating to the wild set. This isn't new news but if you've stepped away from Hearthstone for a time you might not know what cards are going to rotate out of standard. On top of that Blizzard is also moving 6 classic cards to a new set they are calling the "Hall of Fame." The Hall of Fame aims to rotate out certain classic cards Blizzard deems to powerful to stay in the standard set because they seem to limit the design space. Whereas I like each card in The Hall of Fame rotating them to wild does make sense. Nearly each of the 6 cards have no equal and it would be really hard to make cards that are better in some way. The cards rotating to the Hall of Fame are Azure Drake, Sylvanas Windrunner, Ragnaros the Firelord, Power Overwhelming, Ice Lance & Conceal. Again, I get why Blizzard is doing this but the top 3 cards rotating to wild is a bit sad to see. That said they are going to refund us the full dust cost of the cards while allowing us to keep them in our wild set collections. Not a bad deal but i'll miss Rag and Sylvanas in standard anyway!
"We wanted to allow players to disenchant Classic cards that are being added to the Hall of Fame set for full dust refunds, but then felt that incentivizing players to dust their cool Wild cards was counter to our goal of making Wild awesome.
So instead, we're just going to give you the dust, and you can keep the cards!
Up to the maximum number of cards you could put in a deck, we will give you the full dust value of any cards you have that are being added to the Hall of Fame set. (Yes, that means if you have at least one Golden Ragnaros, you'll get 3200 dust!) The dust will be automatically awarded upon log-in once the Year of the Mammoth begins."
Originally Blizzard planned on releasing a full expansion, an adventure and another full expansion in 2017 but instead they will release three full expansions.
"Looking back, we learned a lot in 2016 with the introduction of the Year of the Kraken. One of the things we’d like to put additional focus on for the Year of the Mammoth is having additional deck-building options and deck variety in Hearthstone. To help give players additional tools and options to accomplish this, we are changing up the way we handle our release cycle. Previously, a Hearthstone Year alternated between Expansions and Adventures.
For the Year of the Mammoth, our release cycle will include a ~130 card expansion at the start of the year, a ~130 card expansion in the middle of the year, and another ~130 card expansion at the end of the year.
Why the change of release cycle?
At their core, Adventures paint colorful and thematic stories about the Hearthstone universe. Imagine being able to learn about the history and lore behind each of our sets inside the game in a similar way! Defining who the Jade Lotus are through a series of battles between the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan families would have been a great way to supplement the overall Gadgetzan story arc. That concept is something we would like to do more of in future sets: Take the storytelling and cool missions of Adventures, and combine them with the card pools of expansions.
Cards will be acquired via packs like other expansions in the past; additionally, each release will include optional single-player missions that will help develop the expansions’ thematic narratives and offer fun challenges."
Blizzard hasn't let us know when the new expansion drops but when it does it will start off the Year of the Mammoth. Since I love all things Hearthstone i'll let you all know when news of the new expansion hits and I keep with tradition a new pack opening video to celebrate.

"Take a stand... Read All The Humble Freedom Bundle launched today bringing one of the most insane game bundle values i've seen in quite some time. At the top of the Bundle it comes packed with The Witness, Stardew Valley, Day of the Tentacle Remastered, Subnautica, Nuclear Throne, Super Meat Boy & The Stanley Parable. This bundle also comes with some Audiobook love in the form of Cory Doctorow's "Information Doesn't Want To be Free" and "Walkaway" plus a ton of more indie games you might not have had a chance yet to play. Since I wanted to pick up The Witness and Stardew Valley I pulled the trigger on this immediately and then chipped in a bit more because it's a great cause.

Did you get a key for The Witness? I just bought it and I don't have one. It doesn't say they're sold out...
NEVER MIND I'M A MORON.
For anyone buying this, you have to pick EITHER the Steam key OR DRM-free. You don't get both.
Right, I picked the key before they were sold out.
They still aren't sold out. I just didn't see the switch at the top.
Also, they just added SIXTEEN more games! The gift that keeps on giving. Time to unlock a bunch more games.
SO MANY !!
Also one of the games, Monster Loves You, was sold out but now it's back, and that key popped into my account with the other sixteen. SO even if you bought this while they were sold out of a game, keep checking because it looks like you'll still get it if they add more keys.
More games keep trickling in. Keep checking it!
The addition of Hand of Fate! Very cool. That's one that's been on my list for a long time. What a great bundle!
I realize I'm responding late, but I've been out of town and just now getting caught up on things ;)
Heh. No problem.
I've wanted to try Hand of Fate for some time so it was a really cool thing to see it added.

I want to thank Mark,... Read All Here is the final episode of the Cheerful Ghost Roundtable. In our most final hour and a half we talk about what we've been watching and playing and then discuss the games that have stuck with us the last five years since we started the show. We round things off with the things that have changed for us in gaming since the show launched as well as things we totally got wrong.
CapnCurry joins us for the final Roundtable and by popular demand repeats his Gonzo the Norn story to end the show. Of course I can't help but talk about how I think The Phantom Menace is the best prequel and vow to never speak of it again in our upcoming Podcast. I hope.
I want to thank Mark, Travis, John, Tim and Adam(for that one episode) for doing the Roundtable with me. It's been something i've looked fondly at for the last 5 years and even though the show never got a huge following it has always been a joy to be part of. I also want to thank everyone that watched over the years, even if you only tuned in for one episode it means a lot that you've shared your time with us.
It was great having the whole crew back together again for our final episode.
This isn't *really* a final episode, just the last one with video. We'll still be doing it, just in a more convenient format. But still, it feels like the end of an era. Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.
Gonzo! That's such a great story!
The Roundtables have been great. I've already been using them as a podcast, so moving to that format will be perfect for me. Great job over the last 5 years! Hopefully we all make it another 5 years!
Thanks, Jon, for giving us all a fun space to hangout and share things we care about. Looking forward to the podcast format, and not being objectified by Googles screencap algorithm!
> not being objectified by Googles screencap algorithm!
Google seems to really like you.
I'm wondering if I'm the only one that's going to miss the Roundtable. I like watching YouTube, so the Roundtable is convenient for me. I don't own any Apple products, so I've never even thought about podcasts.
Anyway, Terraria server!!!!! If we do one annually, we should do two this year since we missed last year. Hahaha We need to do Expert Mode!!
> I'm wondering if I'm the only one that's going to miss the Roundtable. I like watching YouTube, so the Roundtable is convenient for me. I don't own any Apple products, so I've never even thought about podcasts.
We will still embed each podcast as a post on the site so you should easily click play to listen to it just like now. There just won't be video. Also, we will have a podcasts section on the site for you to head back and listen to old ones if you want same as with the Roundtable now.
It's that now that it will be a Podcast so people with Podcast clients will be able to subscribe and I think it should get the show a bit of a wider audience. I hope. AND hopefully you don't mind the format change as much WITH THAT I do image we will do special streaming shows on YouTube AND Podcast for certain events like a new Star Wars film or other special shows.
Yeah to expand on what Jon said, you don't need Apple products. Android or whatever will work. It'll be a downloadable MP3 if you don't want to subscribe to it but you have an Android right? Google Play has the same kind of podcast subscription thingie. Or you can use a wide variety of phone/tablet apps or Windows software to subscribe.
Sounds like it'll be easy to access. I realize you don't have to own an Apple product as there are various media players for a variety of formats. I'm sure WinAmp or VLC could play the podcasts, even if they weren't in MP3 format, I just haven't checked out podcasts before. Yes, I own an Android based Kindle and I now have an Android smartphone.
Ah, this sentence made it sound like you were equating podcasts with Apple
> I don't own any Apple products, so I've never even thought about podcasts.
But yeah, it'll be available in way more places now.
Well yeah, I did, but I thought that you could still listen to them with a compatible player (or one with the right plugins). The "pod" in "podcast" makes me think of Apple's iPod. I'm slightly familiar with people listening to podcasts on iPods or something, but I've never listened to any.
Looks like Jar-Jar didn't have an easy time after Revenge of the Sith.

I honestly feel bad for him. He wasn't bad he was just written that way.
It's even worse if you've seen the Clone Wars. He's redeemed significantly in those. He's not in a ton of episodes but when he is they actually get the comedy right... most of the time.
There were so many Netflix shows mentioned in this one. Could someone put a list of them here? Perhaps we should keep a collection of recommended Netflix shows. I'm thinking about checking it out.
Speaking of Netflix shows, I finished Travelers last night on Netflix. Whilst the show was really good, the season finale was a bit disappointing. It felt more like a mid-season finale, not a season finale. (I suppose it's comparable to a LOST season finale where there's always some sort of cliff hanger lol)
(Hmmm, it might be close to time to rewatch LOST again)
And Greg, here's a list of Netflix shows I like (and I'll follow this with another list of shows I know a lot of others like that I've not seen yet
Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Orange Is The New Black
Narcos
Arrested Development (Although the season made just for Netflix wasn't great)
Fuller House (Yes, I love the nostalgia)
Travelers
Shows people always recommend:
Stranger Things
House of Cards
Sense8
Black Mirror
Making A Murderer
The OA
Thanks Adam!
Courtny and I just started going through The OA. We're about 4 episodes in and I'm thoroughly confused and intrigued in equal measure. It's good even through I'm constantly asking WTF.

Not all of the Tek Tier was included in January’s patch. But the wiki (http://ark.gamepedia.com/Tek_Tier) contains a list of what’s confirmed. Most notably, the ability to have underwater bases is expected to be included in February’s patch.
In order to get and use Tek Tier items, you have to get the Tek engrams by defeating the bosses; the Broodmother (giant spider), Megapithecus (giant ape), and Dragon. Defeating the Manticore on Scorched Earth isn’t required. To get to the boss arenas, you still have to collect the Artifacts (located in caves) and take them to an Obelisk or supply drops along with a few other ingredients. There are now three difficulty levels for each of the three required bosses; easy, medium, and hard. The difficulty level changes how much HP the bosses have. You can get all of the engrams by defeating each boss once via the hard portal. This not only unlocks the hard level specific engram(s), but all of the others for that boss. So, you don’t have to fight each boss three times.
The portal will transport you, tribe mates, and your tamed creatures to the boss arena. One of the problems with this are some of the limitations for the arenas (seen here: http://ark.gamepedia.com/Boss_Arenas). Arena rules include the limitation of no more than 10 players and 20 creatures. There is also a list of compatible creatures, which means you can’t bring in every creature. The Scorched Earth Arena against the Manticore is the only one in which flying creatures are allowed. Giganotosaurus is one creature that cannot enter the arenas. Luckily, T-Rex is a compatible creature.
Defeating the boss on any difficulty level will unlock the engram(s) for that boss at that level. The very first engram earned is always the Replicator, which is used to craft Tek Tier items. It can also craft 4 times faster than other crafting stations and has more slots. It helps ease the issue with crafting some high quality blueprints for things such as saddles, which require a hefty amount of resources and therefore slots to put them in. Still the Replicator has limited slots and may not be able to contain all of the resources needed to craft some things. The solution I found for this issue is by using a mod called StackMeMore, which increases stack sizes and reduces the weight of resources. The other issue with the Replicator is that it is crafted at an Obelisk or supply drop.
Bosses now drop a material called Element, which is used to craft and power Tek Tier items such as the Replicator, armor, and weapons. Each piece of Tek armor has special abilities. Combined, they grant a huge insulation bonus. I was able to survive in the snow biome wearing my Tek suit, instead of the regular Fur armor. Still, sometimes I’d get cold at night and my Fortitude (the stat that determines how well you adapt to hot and cold) is very high, over 50.
The Tek Helmet can go into different modes including scanner, night-vision, and a mix of the two. The scanner highlights creatures or players giving them a different colored outline for their aggression level. Your tamed creatures will be outlined in green, neutral is white, and aggressive (attacking you) is red. On the PC, you can double press E to switch between modes. I found this helmet extremely helpful when looking for the new creatures to tame.
The Tek Chestpiece acts as a jet pack, activated by double jumping. You can also hold the jump button or key to float and move around in the air, but you can also hold the SHIFT key and hover or fly. If you’re also wearing the Tek Leggings, you can move forward in the air fast by holding the CTRL key. The chestpiece also gives a swimming speed boost.
Holding CTRL with the Tek Leggings lets you run forward very fast, breaking trees and structures along the way. I use this when I’m encumbered and can’t move. When that happens, I hold CTRL and am able to walk forward until I let go of the key. I’ve found this to be extremely helpful in moving inventory.
Say “goodbye” to fall damage with the Tek Boots! They also give you the ability to climb mountains. I usually get around the map by flying on a Quetzal or Argy, I don’t do a lot of walking, so I don’t really need the ability to climb mountains. After all, I have a jetpack now, why climb a mountain when I can fly over it? Still, the removal of fall damage is great! This removes the need to carry parachutes!
The Tek Gauntlets let you do a super punch with a Right-Click. You can hold the mouse button and target before letting go to punch. You can also super punch trees and rocks, though it’s a very ineffective way to harvest resources.
The Tek Rifle is a “laser” rifle. It can shoot continuously by holding the “shoot” button or key until it overheats and needs to take some time to cool. A Right-Click lets you see through the scope, which also has night vision. It seems pretty powerful. I’ve used it kill an Alpha Rex and a Giga, while my Quetzal was regaining stamina.
The Tek Rex Saddle is pretty much a helmet for a Rex that acts like the Tech Rifle. It doesn’t auto-fire and has an armor rating of 45. While the wiki says that’s better than regular armor, it’s still about half of a good Mastercraft Rex saddle, which can have an armor rating of 100. It does deal explosive damage and can damage structures (including metal).
The Transmitter is pretty much your own Obelisk. It acts the same way, allowing you to craft a Replicator or transfer characters, creatures, and items between games or servers. If you put one close enough to water, you can now transfer water creatures. I love this, because I like to transfer creatures and items between my single player maps (the default one, The Center, and Scorched Earth). This devices makes it so that I can move a lot of creatures and items around quickly and easily.
For players on the Center, there is only one boss arena with no variation in difficulty. However, the Center’s boss arena includes the Broodmother and Megapithecus together in one fight. Once you defeat them you are given only some of the Tek engrams. In order to obtain the rest, your character has to travel to another Ark (server or map).

Read All I became aware of Borderlands 2 because a friend told me he was playing it on his Xbox. There was a free weekend of it on Steam and I tried out it then, but not for very long. While first-person shooter games are very popular, I tend to stay away from them, with a few exceptions. I missed out on the Borderlands 2 Cheerful Ghost event. Every seemed to have a good time with that. Someone else mentioned it to me and I decided to buy the trilogy during a recent seasonal Steam sale.
As of less than 20 hours into the game, it seems ok. It has humor, challenge, and fun. I’m getting more used to it, my character is growing, and I’m feeling more comfortable with it. It seemed a bit challenging in a few areas, but then I started to max out my inventory with health kits. I also overlooked my special (F key) ability at first, but I found it to be helpful when I’m surrounded. I decided to be a soldier.
There seems to be plenty of areas and quests. I think some of the most fun I’ve had so far is in the vehicle, especially running over creatures and enemies for easy XP.
I just defeated Mothrakk. That was definitely a tough fight. I had to use a vehicle and alternate between gunner and driver seats. The gunner seat gave me more room to aim, but then I had to jump back in the driver seat to avoid being bombed by Mothrakk.
This isn’t meant to be a review, that may come later. This may just be the beginning.
I wanted to point out the music, though. The very beginning music reminds me of Diablo 3, which is cool. I also heard music that reminds me of StarCraft. So as far as music, this game sounds much like a Blizzard game, to me. As for game play, it seems similar to Fallout 3, NV, or 4.
It's good that you are starting with Borderlands because firstly, it's great and secondly Borderlands 2 adds some mechanics that make it a bit harder to come back and enjoy the first game. Nothing major, but nice quality of life improvements that make Borderlands 2 that much better for it. Personally I enjoy the gameplay focus on the first game over the story and dialog focus on the second. The story is pretty engaging and funny the first time but becomes less so the more times you go through the game. I really hope Borderlands 3 does something that allows you to play the game without dialog or something.
That said, the original Borderlands is a really contained game that provides a nice length campaign that, to me, never felt overlong. I play it mostly on the PS3 and the game shined on that system but still holds up very well on PC. I've always dreamed they'd bring the Mac port to Steam and also port it to Linux but that doesn't seem to likely at this point.
Anyways, glad you are enjoying the game and I look forward to more of your thoughts on it.
Yeah what Jon says is absolutely true. Overall, I remember the first game more fondly. It had more charm somehow. It was rough around the edges but I liked that. The setting, overall, is more appealing.
But Borderlands 2 ramps up the polish, a better written story, more humor (perhaps too much at times), an incredibly charismatic villain, and most importantly tons of balance and mechanics changes that really make it better. Weapon skill leveling is gone, perks are in. Gunplay feels more impactful.
Borderlands 2 is the better game, definitely, but it misses some piece of magic from the first game that I can't quite quantify.
As for the first game, when is the best time to access those areas? I'm level 27 or 28 now, I have 27 backpack slots. There seems to be plenty to do, Claptrap keeps telling me someone somewhere wants to talk to me or there are new missions available. I'm still just getting around, I just recently got the ability to teleport with that one station.
By "those areas" I assume you're talking about DLC missions? Each mission should tell you what level it's geared toward, and the DLC ones will reset every few levels if you ignore them. So, there's really no wrong time once you reach the first threshold for them. Each one has a different initial level target I think. It's been a while so I can't remember.
I'd play the DLC after you are done with the main game campaign. You can do it whenever, but I believe the DLC story wise happens after the main storyline.
That's a good point. For the most part it doesn't matter but there's one key part of one DLC that wouldn't make a lot of sense if you haven't gotten to a certain point in the main game.
That's vague as hell, but I don't want to spoil things.
After asking my question here, I decided to Google it hours later and what I read is what Jon said, play them after the main story.
As for Borderlands 2 and the prequel, what order do you suggest for those games? I believe a friend told me I should play the prequel before the 2nd game as that's how the story flows, but I was thinking that I might just go by what was released first (B2).
That's like saying you should watch the Star Wars prequels before the original trilogy!
Definitely go in release order. The Pre-Sequel kinda assumes you know things that happened in BL2 in a sense. It actually takes place *after* BL2 in a sense, since there are characters from BL2 telling the story. You'll spoil plot points in BL2 by playing The Pre-Sequel first.
Borderlands => Borderlands DLC => Borderlands 2 => Borderlands The Pre-Sequel.
That said, I still have yet to play the Borderlands DLC, finish up Borderlands 2(I am very close) and then the Pre-Sequel. I have games for ages.
LOL @ Travis. Why wouldn't you? Hahaha. Well, I did play Wolfenstein The Old Blood before I played The New Order and I think it was fine.
One of the reasons I thought about playing the BL trilogy by going by which was released first, was because I imagine various game mechanics are different or improved upon in the newest version (the Pre-Sequel).
Thanks for the input and helping me choose a path.
I'm 30 hours in, feeling a bit more comfortable, happy with some guns, not so happy with others. I tend to use a shotgun or sniper rifle, hardly anything else other than grenades, which I use to give me health.
I'm still learning the game. Claptrap keeps telling me about new missions via a notice board or person. But, I bounce around so much that I hardly get to know any areas or the people in them. I'm also not sure about Class Mods, particularly what I should be using. I haven't quite learned all of the benefits some of them provide and some of those seem to be for co-op play.
I found those people and notification boards I needed to see for more missions. After finishing a bunch of missions, I completed the "first playthrough." Now I'm working on Dr. Ned's DLC. I also looked up info about "class mods" and went with Commando.
Cool! What did you think of completing the base game? What did you think of the ending?
In a way, I expected it to be longer, yet I didn't really know what to expect. It has it's challenges and fun. I didn't complete all of the challenges, I only looked at that screen once, I think. I'm not sure if I found all the Claptraps, but I think my backpack has about 36 slots. Also, I only completed it once with Roland, the soldier, so there is definitely more to do other than the DLC.
I wasn't expecting the storyline to end the way it did, so I was surprised.
Ah, I forgot about finding claptraps to get backpack upgrades. I kinda like that more than spending that secondary currency on them in BL2.
Have any of you gone through the game more than once? What classes or characters did you choose?
Not all the way through, no. But I tried all of them for a few hours but Lilith was my jam.
I beat the game with Lilith too. Roland was also pretty fun.
I beat the game with Roland and Mordicai. Played a bit as Lilith and Brick. Roland is by far my favorite character in the first Borderlands. You can set yourself up to basically have unlimited ammo and grenades. :P
Nice! I was waiting for you to join us in this post, Tim. :)
So, I tried out the 2nd DLC, Mad Moxxi's Underdome and I don't think I'm going to complete it. I tried and found it to be a bit too difficult and the battles were too long. It seemed like it'd take forever just to beat one of the three arenas. I can imagine that it could be better with friends. So, I'm working on the 3rd DLC now.
Also, at least 2 or 3 of my friends have told me that the Pre-Sequel is their favorite. Some of them still recommend playing it before BL2.
@Tim, what class mod did you go with for Roland?
Moxxi's DLC is a very different kind of expansion since it's just an arena. It's fun but not like the others.
Oh wow, the visual difference between the first two games is..."wow!" BL2 looks wonderful! I played it before, or at least during a free weekend, but I only spent a couple of hours in it. I like that I've now played the first game and have moved to the second, because I know things and see recognizable things in the world. I chose Zero when I played it years ago, but this time I went with Axton because I got used to the first game with Roland, a similar character.
I might go back to Borderlands eventually, but I think for now I'm going to move on to BL2. I left Moxxi's Underdome and Crawmerax unfinished.
I guess by Crawmerax you mean the General Knoxx DLC? If so, yeah you got the best ones done. Although I was getting quite annoyed with Claptrap by the end of the Robot Revolution DLC, I still enjoyed it. Zombie Island is the best I think.
Yeah, I think that's where Crawmerax is. I read that it's hard even with 4 people. I got kind of tired of driving all around back and forth in the General Knoxx DLC. I thought Robot Revolution and Zombie Island were good, though. I turned in hundreds of Clapcomponents, but at the end decided to not continue that cycle, I was ready to move on.
BL2 seems to be better many ways, but not necessarily all. I liked having the markers on the compass instead of just the mini-map. I don't think I've run into any med kits that you can buy, store, and use later. I'm still quite impressed at the visual upgrade from BL to BL2.
I think I ended up kinda cheesing Crawmerax. It doesn't give you good enough loot to punish yourself with it unless you're on your second (or higher) playthrough.
It's been awhile, so I don't remember the specifics about my class mod I preferred with Roland. I just remember it had team ammo regen.
For BL2 I play Salvador or Gaige.
For Salvador I invest heavily in the rampage skill tree. I'm all about being able to spend as much time gunzerking as possible! I stick to class mods that give team ammo regen plus whatever the best skill bonuses I can find.
For Gaige I went down the Little Big Trouble tree, which gives a bunch of fun bonuses to electric damage weapons, as well as some fun stuff like sending out an electric shock-wave every time you reload or causing an electric AoE when you score a critical hit. Early on I just look for whatever mod gives the best stat bonuses. Once I get interspersed Outburst, I look for a mod that gives me a bonus for that.
Gaige's skill tree is tons of fun to experiment with. It looks like you put way more thought into it than I do! :)
Also Greg, your header image broke!
That's cool, thanks for sharing, Tim!
Travis, it looks like my image on the post is fine.
Weird. I wonder what's breaking it on my end!
Occasionally the avatar images break for some reason(not sure why though). All of them are simple links back to whatever service the person selected.
I meant the post's embed image. It was gone for me for an hour or so but then it was fine.

It's the right blend of immersive gameplay and rogue like mechanics that can make for some really crazy games. Whereas i've only ever beat the game once I can still nearly always get to the final boss fight to get shutdown during on of it's insane forms. Needless to say FTL is incredible and i'm a fan of the creators, Subset Games. Last week news dropped that Subset Games is working on their follow up to FTL called "Into the Breach." Into the Breach is a Kaiju based Pacific Rim like strategy game where you control mechs to protect cities threatened by monsters.
"The remnants of human civilization are threatened by gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. You must control powerful mechs from the future to hold off this alien threat. Each attempt to save the world presents a new randomly generated challenge in this turn-based strategy game.
Into the Breach is a single-player game coming to Windows, Mac, and Linux (although not simultaneously). There is no planned release date. Ben Prunty, FTL’s composer, is making an original soundtrack for the game, and award-winning sound designers PowerUp Audio are heading up the rest of the audio. Chris Avellone is lending his writing talents and world building skills to the team as well."
Subset Games plus the music of Ben Prunty sounds like all the parts to make something really special and Into The Breach is something I can't wait to play.
A tactics game involving Mech's vs. Kaiju by Subset Games and music by Ben Prunty.
It's... It's exactly everything I want!
This does look pretty cool.
This looks amazing! I'm glad to hear that Subset is putting out another game. Can't wait!
I've never been one for grid based strategy games but I'll still be trying this just because it's the same folks behind FTL. That game was fantastic.
The more I watch this trailer, the more excited I am about playing this game. It's like a catchy action-film trailer!
It does. The gameplay looks super tight and it seems like they've worked a lot on this game before showing it off.
Cool pre-review from RPS about Into the Breach.

Looks like RPS continues to play it and talked more about it recently.

http://collider.com/castlevania-animated-series-adi-shankar/ It seems that Netflix is continuing it's journey to create as much interesting content as possible with the announcement of a new Castlevania cartoon show. According to a Collider interview with the series creator Adi Shankar the show will be based on Castlevania III and be a hard hitting dark anime. Adi Shankar is the crazy mastermind behind the Power/Rangers YouTube short that was all over the Internet back in 2015 so it's not surprising he is leading this project.

That Power Rangers short was amazing and I never touched the show as a kid. I started reading this with skepticism but knowing Shankar is behind it makes me more interested.
7. Majora's Mask
6. Wind Waker
5. Twilight Princess
4. Ocarina of Time & Ocarina of Time 3D
3. The Legend of Zelda
2. Links Awakening
1. Link to the Past
My list isn't quite as long as some may have as I haven't played all the Zelda's. Notable exceptions on my list are the Adventure of Link, Oracle of Ages & Seasons, Link Between Worlds(I own this I haven't started it yet), The Minish Cap and Skyward Sword. I plan on playing The Adventure of Link when I get an NES Classic so until then, it's still on my list of shame.
For the Zelda games you've played how would you rank them? Love to hear you thoughts in the comments.
Here's the Kotaku article if anyone is interested in reading it.

I haven't played Twilight Princess but other than that our list of Zeldas played is identical, and my list is 100% identical if you take out TP.
I find it difficulty to rank the Zelda games as you did. They're all so very great, although the 2nd Zelda game is my least favorite. I remember trying to play it multiple times and having no idea what to do. I did finally play again many years later using a guide and cheat codes.
Other than that, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword, the modern console versions are fantastic. I didn't play Link to the Past until I got it for the DS. It was cool and I enjoyed it, but that was my first and only hands on experience with it. The original Zelda is great, too!
My most recent favorite Zelda game is Hyrule Warriors, I love it absolutely! I expect Breath of the Wild will join the ranks of the top Zelda games.
I imagine any PC without at least Windows 7 isn't getting much gaming love these days.
It's possible those old machines could still have a life in modern times, though. XP is one thing, but even crappy PCs that came with Vista run better with 7, 8, and 10. They haven't changed a ton of the functional system requirements. I upgraded a crappy Vista pc through 7, 8, and 10 and it runs better now than ever. I use it for things I want to watch on TV but can't do so in any other way than through a browser.
That said, OS upgrades from Microsoft didn't always come with a free upgrade window like they did for 10, so you may not have a cheap/free upgrade path. If you have spare licenses and you don't mind potentially wasting one on a PC that might not have much of a life left, give it a shot.
If you have a Vista PC and this is causing you headaches I don't recommend paying for an upgrade to your OS; put that money toward a new computer.
But as for Blizzard's statement that "the games will not run on them," I bet an enterprising XP holdout could figure out how to make it work. I highly doubt there's a major audience for it, though.
Noooooo!
Noooooo!
It might be a smaller percentage but some people in that thread were upset about this. When we shipped Starship Rubicon XP was a target OS and I do remember a few people submitting bug reports on it(If memory serves). I respect people getting as much life out of a computer as they can. I love for things to last forever too and I have a machine or two with XP on it kicking around. I don't use it as a daily driver though.
> I have a machine or two with XP on it kicking around
I hope by "kicking around" you mean "disconnected from the internet unless absolutely necessary," because there are some serious security issues with XP that will never get patched. One big reason Microsoft tries to get people to upgrade for really amazingly cheap (Windows 8) or free (Windows 10) is because of "vaccination" in a sense. Unsupported operating systems get infected more easily leading to more crap spreading around and more botnets. Don't be part of a botnet, Jon! :D
Thanks Travis.
Connecting a insecure device to your personal network doesn't get it compromised in seconds but if I connected it direct to the Ineternet it might. That might be a fun thing to try too. Connect a Windows XP box to the net and wait to see how long it would take till it gets owned. Since I can turn it off easily enough that might be a fun experiment.
Haha, yeah. I've seen that done for a laugh and it really takes next to no time at all. It's nuts!
And that was even when it was still a supported OS!
But I wasn't even talking about using it directly connected, and I wasn't saying just having it there would get it infected in seconds. Just sitting there doing nothing on your network, it's fine for the most part (not entirely), but it has a nutty amount of security holes just waiting for a malware download. Even using what you'd think is secure software. Since there's no UAC like there is in Windows Vista and above, even a responsible user with a trusty install of Firefox (not including Chrome since you can't run a secure Chrome on XP anymore) can get screwed if an ad network gets compromised, which happens. Even the most trusted ones. Microsoft was handing out malware once because the ad network they used got compromised.
If you disable the hell out of unneeded services and install an outgoing firewall (your router has you covered on incoming, for the most part but again not entirely) and only use it for old games that don't work on Vista and above, and you do no web browsing, you'll heavily mitigate the risk.
And just to be clear, it's a matter of percentages. I'm not saying XP is 100% guaranteed to get malware, not by a long shot. But it's an entirely static target now since it will never change, and it's facing dynamic threats now, and anything can happen.
