You are the last defense against these hell-spawned hordes. Prepare for the most intense mutant-laden, blood-splattered action ever!

Bethesda is pushing the new Doom demon-train hard as they continue to talk about features of the upcoming triple A "demon murder simulator." SnapMap is my most anticipated part of the game as it highlights what I think is a current void in modern shooters. It was very simple back in the DOS based Wolfenstein and Doom days to create a map and share it with your friends. In the modern age of Call of Duty and Far Cry these features have been lost in favor of multiple map DLC packs and very focused multiplayer modes. Doom aims to break with this and take us back to provide players with a great tool to build maps and share them with each other across consoles and PC.

iD Software dropped a new Doom trailer that features some new footage we haven't seen previously. The new footage is included with some earlier footage, but if you are itching to get some new Doom in your face, this is it.

New Doom is coming out in 2015 and I can't wait to check it out. That said, the more I watch this footage the more I feel bad for the Demons. Seriously, this game won't be a good time for them.

I just finished watching the Bethesda E3 showcase and I can safely say it was the best E3 show i've ever seen. Bethesda kicked things off showing a ton of new gameplay from the upcoming Doom game and it looks incredible. Shotguns, blood and demon face punching look incredible and I can't wait to play it.

What do you think, are you read to head back to hell in Doom?

I want to be honest, the game looks so brutal I kind of feel bad for the demons....

New trailer:

Bethesda let loose 3 seconds of new footage teasing an upcoming event where we will all learn more about "new Doom." From the horses mouth to you:

"Get the first in-game footage from DOOM . See the game unveiled at Bethesda's E3 Showcase - Sunday, June 14th at 7 pm PT."

The game looks great and I can't wait to learn more. Plus, didn't we all sign up to get the Doom beta when we pre-ordered the new Wolfenstein game?
I remember playing Doom in the '90s, and loving every minute of it, but there was always something missing. What if I wanted to make Doom look like a photograph from the 60s? What if I wanted to take a picture of myself to remember the moment forever?

Well, now my prayers have been answered.

As Kotaku has said, "After almost 22 years, Doom is finally finished."

Doom 4 was teased last year at Quakecon and since then there has been a ton of silence from iD on when it will be coming. We've been waiting for the next chapter of Doom for quite some time and if your tired of waiting, the upcoming update to Brutal Doom might hold you over. Adding the pump action shotgun as well as enhanced blood effects, Brutal Doom looks great. The mod creator has been testing it with Free Doom(an Open Source recreation of the Doom assets) so getting it running should be easy.

Spacebase creator JP LeBreton and John Romero play through Doom “Knee Deep in the Dead,” in its entirety. It's fun to watch John play through the game and talk about it as he was so instrumental in creating it.

Now can we get a Myamoto playing through the original Legend of Zelda video series?

I found this Lego Doom photo as I was spelunking the corners of the Internet and wanted to share it with you. Before I saw this I wasn't aware how much I wanted Lego Doom. Hopefully the Lego Doom movie isn't too far away!
Some awesome person on the net took a snapshot of the original Doom manual and found that it contains an actual story. It's no Song of Ice and Fire but it does make sense and sets the game up well.

After hearing about "the most evil murder simulator ever made" and noticing the shareware version on the shelf for a few bucks, I gave Doom a shot. The graphics, immersion and gameplay blew my mind. The Demons snarling and grunting was really unnerving coming through my sound blaster. Shooting something and watching it explode was extremely satisfying. I also had fun connecting the game over BBS's and LAN for deathmatch.

Doom is one of those games that stamped my brain with what games could be and as such have a huge love for it. When Doom II came out I was very happy with the double barreled shotgun and new creepy levels.

I hope Doom continues to live on and wish iD... Read All
