I am really excited to bring you guys a few new features today and as such wanted to talk a bit about them. So here goes...

Interviews: Interviews are becoming a big part of Cheerful Ghost and some people were having a hard time finding them. I added the interviews to the menu to give them more visibility and showcase more of what we do.

Anyone on the site can add "Interviews" to their list and contact a person or company in gaming to post. When I started the site I had never given an interview before and after a few, was able to make them great. So if you had an inclination to do an interview with someone about your favourite game or game company, I urge you to go for... Read All

After seeing some really cool 8 bit bead creations at a the Portland Retro Game Expo this summer, I decided the world needed a Cheerful Ghost. Spending a bit of time on it here and there I created a process to build the Ghost magnets and I think they turned out pretty well. Right now I am testing my latest magnet adhesive strategy on my fridge and these particular prototype revisions are holding up well.

Stay tuned over the next month for information on how you can put one of these awesome Ghosts on your fridge!

"We've been working on a little something, different from our other games, and we're pleased to invite you to be the first to see it," the company wrote in its e-mailed note. "It's not a sequel, expansion or that rumored next-gen MMO, but it's something we're excited for you to get your hands on."

I wonder if this is what Jay Wilson left the Diablo III team for? Some are speculating this is the previously mentioned Titan MMO. If past Blizzard announcements are an indicator, then the game will launch about 4 years after the announcement(D3 was announced in 2008).

So what do you think, is this the new Titan MMO or something entirely different?

Either way, we will know... Read All

If you are looking for a taste of Stardew Valley before launch, Concerned Ape has released 3 tracks from the upcoming page on Bandcamp. Listening to these awesome tracks makes me realize the game can't come out soon enough!

John Carmack recently wrote about the latency in VR headsets and how to account for it. Proving again that he is one of the smartest people in gaming today building a space company.

I received a preview Beta of Hammerwatch today and played it for a few hours. The game is a ton of fun and shines in co-op, expect to see more in the next few days... Read All

OCRemix is hosting the new album "Final Fantasy: Random Encounter" a series of remixes from the original FF game. Very good and well worth the price of free.

John Carmack talked about native Linux ports and Wine on Reddit recently. I don't think comparing the sales of Quake 3 to the modern market is fair, but he brings up fairly pragmatic points.

Many outlets are covering the new PS4 unveiling including Twitter, but for the part of you not following all that, I have compiled some interesting bits about the PS4. Please add the things you find interesting to this thread.

The confirmed specs will be 8G RAM, X86 CPU, hard drive and new video card. Not much in the way of details, but a few confirmed facts that were speculation just a few months ago. They didn't say much about if it will come with BluRay, but I can't imagine it won't. The new DualShock 4 has a touch pad and seems a bit nicer of a design but largely the same. No huge need to change the controller much, in my opinion its already quite good.

Hey guys. This is the first test episode of the new weekly podcast featuring myself, Shigaru and Mosenwraith. If you like spirited gaming discussion and smart assery, check it out. We will be going live every Friday at 10pm EST at www.twitch.tv/shigplays. Also I apologize for the audio. Shig needed to get his settings in order. If it's too much, feel free to go the the twitch channel and watch in on the VOD, where the audio is better.

Also... and this is important... we have no idea what the hell to call this podcast. I still need names and as such, I decided to make a bit of a contest about it. Follow this link ---> http://youtu.be/FiV4kxh1Icw?t=14m31s <---... Read All

RetroLiberty is a cool YouTube channel dedicated to retro games. I appreciate both guys on the channel because the production value is much better than the average retro video faire. In this video they are discussing their top 10 NES games. I track with them on the list for the most part, but personally would have handed the top spot to The Legend of Zelda. Mario 2 would have been my number 2.

I also slightly disagree with them in that Super Mario 3 was not a perfect game. I argue it would be perfect if it had a save feature so its close but not entirely perfect. The version that ships on Super Mario All Stars shipped with a save feature and the graphics were a bit... Read All
