Sheathe your sword, draw your deck, and get ready for Hearthstone - the fast paced strategy card game that's easy to learn and massively fun. Start a free game on Battle.net and play your cards to sling spells, summon creatures, and command the heroes of Warcraft in duels of epic strategy.

One of the biggest problems in Hearthstone has been new players starting the game. There are a ton of cards to get and because of that, it's very daunting for new players. Changes are coming that should address this and create an entirely new game mode that should shake up the base game for the better.

There is so much here, I am going to clip out most of it to discuss.

"You’ll play Standard using a deck built solely from a pool of cards that were released in the current and previous calendar year, along with a core foundation of the Basic and Classic card sets (which will always be valid for Standard). You’ll be matched against other players who are also... Read All

A few people have been asking me about starting strategies for Hearthstone. It's a tough grind when you start and I discuss what I would do if I started now and then get in playing with a basic+naxx Warlock deck. I round out the show playing a few new Aggro Shaman and Raptor Rogue decks.

Basic+Naxx Warlock Deck:

Raptor Rogue(I don't run Sylvanas or Dr. Boom as I don't have them)

Aggro Shaman:

Last year I created a post for new Hearthstone players. My only update would be to unlock... Read All

In this episode of Hearthstone Dailies for Ghosts I grind up to 700 gold to unlock the last tier of Blackrock Mountain. Am I able to defeat all the bosses? The last bossfight is a bit tricky, do I have the right cards to finish Nefarian?

One goal of 2016 is to do more Cheerful Ghost video projects. Keep the Roundtable going strong, do more local developer interviews and game streaming. I love Hearthstone and I know some of you do too and thought it might make sense to do a new Hearthstone series where I play the game and talk a bit about it. Specifically i'll be focusing on grinding my Hearthstone gold dailies, talk about the game in terms of strategy to help people understand the game a bit more and learn that they can do pretty well playing the game for free. In this first episode I grind out one of my daily quests while playing 3 ranked matches. I talk about and use two of my new decks... Read All

If people are handing out awards for the laziest post titles, i'd put "A Few Things I Liked In 2015" up for nomination. I wanted to make it "Things I Just Couldn't Even In 2015" but you know, I couldn’t even.

This post is a wrap up of a few things I enjoyed in 2015. It's not an exhaustive list but I am sure I am saying that so you don't judge me for only putting popular stuff on this list. You know, so if someone is all like "hey man why is this list Star Wars The Force Awakens" 20 times I can say "it's not meant to be exhaustive.”

The following lists aren't in any sorted order unless otherwise noted. This list is of things I experienced in 2015 not just... Read All

"Oh the weather outside is frightful,

but the Inn is so delightful.

With our decks all good to go,

Play Hearthstone! Play Hearthstone! Play Hearthstone!

It's nice to see Blizzard getting in the holiday spirit with Hearthstone. Then again, it's not too hard getting excited for something that makes more money than Donald Trump. To celebrate Winter Veil Blizzard is replacing the standard Hero greeting with a special Winter Veil line as well as decorating the boards with a nice festive theme. They are teasing more to come, which might take the form of a fun Tavern Brawl or ... possibly ... some free stuff? If Winter Veil Claus brings us all a free pack or two that... Read All

So this was from my post dated 5/15/15:

and 5/21/15:

Here's my wins on each hero currently for ranked

Priest 500+
Druid 230
Mage 142
Warrior 136
Shaman 74
Paladin 66
Hunter 53
Warlock 46
Rogue 44

That totals 1291. It says I have 1616 Play Mode Wins though. Also, it says My best arena key is 911, but I don't know what that means lol. Ok, I used google. That's my total wins in the arena, my best run is 10 wins.

Let's say for the sake of averages, I have a 50/50 win ratio. Meaning, I've won 1616 games in ranked and lost 1616 games in ranked. For Arena, let's say I average 4 wins with 3 losses.... Read All

About a month back I decided to save up my gold to open packs with one of my friends Dan. Since I only have a couple Goblins VS Gnomes cards I decided that would be what I opened and Dan wanted to focus on classic. Join us as I open 19 GvG and 1 TGT pack(oops) and Dan opens 27 classic packs. Even though I took the unlucky first spot I was happy with what we both pulled.

After this round of pack opens I plan to turn my gold attention to unlocking the new League of Explorers Adventure. So far i've seen many of the new cards in my match ups and can't wait to unlock them for myself!

#Hearthstone’s third adventure, the League of Explorers, has just been announced at #BlizzCon!

I really hope there's some cooperative play built into this adventure! This week's Tavern Brawl has been a lot of fun.j

A couple days ago Blizzard announced that Warsong Commander was getting a nerf and we've talked about it a bit already. I think all Hearthstone players wanted to see the Grim Patron Warrior deck get a nerf but after Blizzard talked about Warsong Commanders changes some people voiced some displeasure. No nerf is going to make everyone happy but is changing Warsong Commanders ability that big a problem?

For folks not in the know Blizzard is changing Warsong Commanders ability from:

"Whenever you summon a minion with 3 or less Attack, give it Charge."

"Your Charge minions have +1 Attack. "

But some people feel this nerf is bad for Hearthstone in general as seen... Read All

Rarely a day goes by where I don't play a few matches of Hearthstone. It's a great game and I still find the matches engaging and fun. I recently just got to a point where I have 4 decks that net me consistent wins in Casual and I felt they were worth sharing. Feel free to share your decks too, i'd love to see what people are playing with.

First things first, I am a free to play pleb that's only been seriously playing since the game dropped on mobile. Also these decks are not put together to be competitive on ranked. I play enough ranked to get the new card back but I am not good enough to do well there. Someday perhaps, but not right now.

This may very well be the craziest Hearthstone turn i've seen. Basically it features two Grim Patron decks with multiple cards working together. An armor smith card is granting the defender mad armor while the attacker drops two berserkers that gain attack for damage done to all characters. I've gone lethal on someone with about 18 damage dealt in one blow, but 32 for two berserkers is pretty neat.

When Adam and I heard there was a new Hearthstone release we started hoarding our daily quest gold. When the Grand Tournament launched today I had enough gold saved for 28 packs and he had 27. Adam had the idea that we stream our opening of our packs and the video linked above turned out way better than I expected.

We start the stream talking about some of the more interesting Grand Tournament cards then proceed to the main event, opening packs. I'd say Adam drew a much larger spread of cards than I did but I ended up pulling Justicar Trueheart. He also pulled two balls of spiders to which I pulled none.

I've been spending the last month plus saving up my gold to open Grand Tournament packs and I can't wait for tonight to open them. One of my friends is coming over and we plan to open the packs together and stream it for anyone interested. Please let me know in the comments what cards you've pulled and any new decks you are playing with.

"Joyous fanfare fills the air of taverns everywhere today, which can only mean one thing—Hearthstone’s second expansion, The Grand Tournament, has arrived! Experience all The Grand Tournament has to offer: 132 new cards add a cavalry of noble knights, powerful steeds, potent spells, and more to your collection. A new... Read All

Blizzard is keeping the hype train real as the days march closer to to it's August release of The Grand Tournament Expansion. After a large game patch tomorrow that will knock the game out of commission for a couple hours we will be getting an all new Tavern Brawl highlighting some new cards in the upcoming expansion allowing us to try them out pre-expansion launch.

"Wednesday’s Grand Tournament Match features a thrilling Brawl between two potent forces. One, led by that mysterious master of magic, Medivh, will be packed with minions eager to heed your call to battle and power up with Inspire. Standing against them will be the mistress of the hunt, Alleria,... Read All
