Rage is a very hefty feeling but there is no need to be angry while you play it. I paid full price for Rage 2 at launch and I loved every minute of playing it but I could see a world where some people might play games angry after paying full price. If you see red after paying for things you are in luck because Rage 2 is entirely free on the Epic Games PC Store until Feb 25th. While you are there saving yourself a few bucks you can also get Absolute Drift for free too. I have no experience playing Absolute Drift but if my growing backlog is an indicator, I never will but will lament the fact I haven't.

Thanks! I think I've only been aware of the Rage games because of you. Would you recommend playing Rage (the first game) first? I've seen it pop up for cheap.

I liked it but Rage 2 is a better game. I think it depends on if you have the time and want to be a completionist with the series.

Might not come as a huge surprise to anyone but I picked up Super Mario 3D World on Switch and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I've heard some folks online say that it's a bit on the easy side as a single player game and I get that. That said, I haven't found it to be that easy myself as I've been playing it co-op with a rather energetic four year old. I love the little guy but he's not great at platforming such that he dies a lot and MUST always be the first to get "the kitty suit." So yeah, it's fun playing Mario with your kids but playing Mario co-op with little kids might be the Dark Souls of trying to have fun playing video games sometimes. Let this scenario... Read All

So yeah, it's fun playing Mario with your kids but playing Mario co-op with little kids might be the Dark Souls of trying to have fun playing video games sometimes. Let this scenario wash over you "Daddy I don't want to go there. Hey buddy ok let me carry you over there. Thanks Daddy. *he pushes a button and jumps out of my arms and falls off a cliff* Daddy I lost the kitty suit. Ok buddy hold on let me use the extra we have ok come get it. Daddy I can't come get it, Daddy I can't go over there. Ok buddy let me help you there *falls off a cliff* Ok no problem buddy let me pop the bubble there and throw you at the kitty suit. YAY I'm the kitty again, I love being the kitty. *falls off a cliff* Daddy I need the kitty suit."
Frankly I think Super Mario 3D World is the right kind of difficulty for how I play it, but I can see where some gamers might need more of a challenge. If you are a challenge seeker Super Mario 3D World might not be for you but having kids might help you get there.
Oh and we haven't played Bowsers Fury yet but I imagine we'll get there after we complete Super Mario 3D World. We just got to the mid point in World 3 even if the game feels like a continual hunt for the kitty suit.

Yep. You need to buy Super Mario 3D World on Switch and it runs on the same engine but it's a totally separate thing you select at the menu of the game.
During the Nintendo Direct today there was much in the way of interesting news from Nintendo and one such piece was that Skyward Sword was getting a re-release on Switch coming July 16th. If you're unware of Kingdom Hearts, it's a series of action-adventure games in which the worlds of Disney and Final Fantasy are as one. You'll see familiar characters such as Cloud, Sephiroth, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck. You'll also explore many of the Disney worlds created from the vast history of Disney movies. The voice overs are nice, too. I really enjoyed hearing David Boreanaz as Squall in the first game. Leonard Nemoy also had a voice over in one of the DS games I played. It's an amazing co-existence and I've really enjoyed the KH games I've played, though I've missed out on some of them. If you think this idea sounds interesting, you should check it... Read All

If you're a fan of Kingdom Hearts and want to play the games on your PC, your chance is here! They will arrive on 3/30/21, however as an exclusive on the Epic Games Store. Another factor is that the games will cost $50-60. There are four separate games including one for KH HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, another for HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, another for KH III + Re Mind DLC, and a final one for KH: Melody of Memory, which is a rhythm game (absolutely one of my least favorite types of games).
Personally, I prefer to have all of my games on Steam, in one place, but I have grown to accept the various digital gaming platforms available to us now. I still don't like exclusives, although I've always given Nintendo a pass for that. As long as I have, even if eventually, access to an exclusive that I want then I'm pretty much ok with that. I'm currently holding out on FFVII: Remake, hoping it will make it's way to Steam, eventually. Honestly, I think the worst part of it is the price. I don't think each package necessarily merits a $50-60 price tag. I'd love to get this (except for the rhythm game), but at it's current price, I'm definitely going to wait until that changes.
Let me know what you think about this! Is this something you're interested? Have you ever played a KH game? How do you feel about the EGS exclusive? How do you feel about paying $50-60 for them?
Wow. Epic is getting some really interesting PC exclusives. Iām not sure Iām going to jump in to Kingdom Hearts as it doesnāt seem like something Iād like, I wonder if they will pull an exclusive Iāll want to play? They came close with Super Meat Boy Forever but I didnāt quite pull the trigger.

I'm liking the show. Usually after watching an episode I check out the latest video about the show posted by New Rockstars on YouTube. They usually reveal a lot of details that are easily overlooked. I'm also watching Marvel shows I missed out on (all of them). I've already finished Agent Carter and am now in season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I love it all. I'm very much looking forward to more Marvel shows and movies.
Also, I am very much enjoying the weekly episodes of WandaVision. I love the theory crafting between episodes, and the "water cooler talk" (not that we're in offices, standing around water coolers lol).
Quite enjoyed the latest video by MtPain27 where he admits he is Doom Save-Scum. Save-Scum refers to a play style of Doom where you save and reload to complete a level. In some hardcore circles of Doom Save-Scumming is frowned upon as playing the whole level start to finish with pistol start on incredibly high difficulty is seen as one holy grail. MtPain talks about that and admits his Save-Scumness and it's nice to hear because I am too. I don't mind challenging games these days but I play games to have fun and sometimes that means... being Save-Scum.

"I am save-scum. When I play Doom, before, after, and sometimes during big fights, Iāll typically save my game. When I have to do pretty much any kind of platforming, Iāll save my game. When Iām low on health and donāt know if Iāll make it through the rest of the map, but donāt want to overwrite my current save file, sometimes, (gasp) Iāll save in a second slot. Even Iām when playing maps I know like the back of my hand, if I know a hard part is coming up, sometimes Iāll save my game. Why? Because I am save-scum...""

In some games, I save often if I can. I do practice the save-scum method. I sometimes keep backups of some games or their saved data in case something happens in-game that I don't like. So, I can revert to that saved backup. Most recently, I've done this w/ Ark. In many Final Fantasy games, I saved often and use every slot multiple times.
I save-scum in a lot of games for different reasons. Especially when there's a random reward and I'm trying for a specific outcome. Hell, in a lot of RPG's there's gear or items that would be nearly impossible to get without the ability to save before opening a box or beating an enemy and then reloading if you don't get the result you want.

Publisher 503 Games is heading up this latest Puzzle Quest game and it's also been announced as a free to play game. It makes sense that Puzzle Quest 3 is free to play but ... I haven't seen a lot of these free to play games work out too well in that the free to play mechanics are very annoying.
Still, I have the original Puzzle Quest on the DS and found it to be one of the better entries on that system and hope Puzzle Quest 3 lives up to the legacy of the original.
