In this episode we discuss Valve's announcement that a new Half-Life sequel is coming to VR and the newest addition to Episode IV that makes it a super special edition, Maclunkey! And we talk about what we've been playing and watching over the past month, as is tradition.

Note: In this episode we incorrectly conflate Rob Thomas, the TV producer, and Rob Thomas, the lead singer of Matchbox 20. Apologies to both Rob's.

Just a quick note here to let you know that Warcraft III: Reforged is going to be released on Jan. 28. It's not that far away, yet it feels like it's been a while since we've heard anything about it. I don't recall hearing anything about it at this year's Blizzcon, which comes as a surprise now that we have this release date. Maybe I missed something, after all I was only playing attention to Diablo IV anyway.

You can buy a digital version of the game for $30 (which is $2 per mission) or spend an extra $10 to get some bonus stuff. See the link below for more info.

Is anyone planning to get this at launch? I'm not sure myself. I've played all of Warcraft and Warcraft II,... Read All

I thought I'd share with you some of my most favorite gaming channels on YouTube. Please feel free to let me know if you're also a fan of these channels, too. Also, share your favorites with me in the comments!

I've mentioned Paul Soares Jr. before in my posts on here. His was one of the first channels I started watching years ago. I've watched all of his Minecraft Survive & Thrive series, I've even watched some of them multiple times. I believe he's the first to have posted a Minecraft tutorial on YouTube. He's featured in the Minecraft documentary I've shared in a Minecraft post. He is also one of the few who brought Ark: Survival Evolved to my attention. I've... Read All

This achieves something special, and it would be a shame to miss it.

Back in 2013 a new Indie game hit Kickstarter that we covered here on Cheerful Ghost called Shovel Knight. We were immediately interested in its hilarious premise and chunky pixel art indie vibe. A month after Travis covered the Kickstarter for Shovel Knight we were able to interview Sean at Yacht Club games and it's a piece that I look back and am fairly proud of (interview linked below). Since then Shovel Knight launched to critical acclaim and later saw the base game morph into Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove which is a collection of the base game Shovel of Justice with every other new expansion game such as Plague of Shadows and Specter of Torment included. On December 20th Nintendo Online is adding a handful of retro titles to the Nintendo and Super Nintendo to help ring in the new year. On the NES front players are getting two games such as the classic RPG Crystalis and Journey to Silius. On the Super Nintendo people can enjoy Star Fox 2, Super Punch-Out!!, Kirby Super Star & Breath of Fire II. After the Super Nintendo hit Nintendo online they mentioned that the monthly flow of retro titles wouldn't be coming in favor of a handful every few months and this seems to be the first launch of games to fill that promise. The stand out title of this release pack are Star Fox 2 which originally released on the Super... Read All

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is coming to theaters December 20th and LucasFilm is in full hype mode. As part of that a brand new featurette is out that focuses on the relationships the cast has built up over 40 years as the series finally comes to an end. This short seems like it would be the kind of thing to hit the special features of a blu-ray release so it's fun to see it now.

Azurephile gives this a solid "Rad" on the Ghost Scale
This is fun, with very few issues, and is well worth your time.

Divinity: Original Sin is pretty much a must-play, especially if you’re into RPGs.
I realized the popularity of Divinity: Original Sin 2 some time ago and decided to look into it. I later bought a huge pack on sale which includes pretty much every game in the Divinity series, although I believe they’re pretty much unrelated. However,... Read All

The first trailer to Black Widow is out!

I'm still a little worried that this will suffer a similar fate as Rogue One and Solo for (prequels where we know the ultimate outcome, thus making the stakes for the main character not as high, because ultimately they live), but I am more excited for this than I thought I would be.

Maybe because I'm in the middle of a Winter Soldier rewatch (as I'm rewatching it, I honestly wonder if I ever actually saw it? It feels like the first time I'm seeing scenes in it lol), but I'm just lately getting into Nat's character. Endgame was sad for her, but wasn't *that* sad to me, but I bet next time I watch Endgame, it'll hit even harder... Read All
