Phoronix has confirmed that Steam is going to be released on Linux:

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=valve_linux_dampfnudeln&num=1

Direct from the article:
"For those that have doubted the exclusive Phoronix claims for quite a while now that the Steam client and Source Engine are in fact being ported to Linux, the doubts can be nearly laid to rest. Even I began to wonder how long it would take before the clients for their popular games would be publicly released under Linux. However, after confirming the information perhaps a bit too soon, their level of Linux interest is much more clear after spending a day at their offices. A meeting topped off... Read All

If anyone hasn't played Dead Space 1 or 2 (I haven't either), it's really cheap right now on Steam. $10 for both!

I just got a new PC capable of playing at least most of the current games out right now. I tried playing Oblivion (yes, Oblivion) on my old one and it stuttered too much to enjoy. I decided it was time for a change.

So, I'm really out of the loop when it comes to PC games. What have I missed over the past ... almost a decade? The last PC game I really sank a lot of time into was Half-Life 2, if that tells you anything.

I have Deus Ex: Human Revolution waiting for me, I'm going to replay the recent Bethesda games on PC so I can mess with the available mods, and I'm going to finally give Morrowind a fair shot. Anything else I should try?

New web show called TableTop... This is actually episode 2 about Settlers of Catan.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope

I just watched this movie on onDemand today. I have to say that the Geek/Nerd in me was brought out in full force the entire time I watched it. Morgan Spurlock the creator of great documentaries such as "Supersize Me" completly encapsulated the essence of the con and what it means to a lot of people. I have been to several other conventions but this is somthing I would like to attend once in my life.

I highly sugest a view to anyone who is a "Geek" or "Nerd" of anything

The source code for Prince of Persia was released today from the original Apple 2 port:

https://github.com/jmechner/Prince-of-Persia-Apple-II

Awesome to see this sort of thing happen regularly. A few companies I respect have released source for some awesome games like Sim City, Doom 3, Quake 3 & Duke Nukem 3D.

Seeing this kind of thing is awesome because it allows these classic games to live on well beyond they are fiscally viable to keep running on modern systems. I believe culture should be preserved and source released of old games helps that.

Heres hoping that old games like Warcraft Orcs and Humans, Unreal Tournament and Mario Brothers see a source release at... Read All
