Stephanie Bayer the community manager for PopCap recently tweeted that Plants VS Zombies 2 is going to drop in July. I played the heck out of the original and am looking forward to the next installment.
Hopefully Crazy Dave has a much larger role in PvZ 2 and my only real request is that PopCap make the second one have some difficulty modes.

PC Gamer recently crowned the Flak Cannon as the best FPS gun of all time, video linked above. I totally agree.
The Ore list for Starbound was recently leaked on Reddit. While it didn't make Chucklefish too happy it does show off how much awesome stuff there will be to mine, like the infamous Obtainium.

Seriously, that gun is amazing. It may be that I'm just not super at FPS games and the Flak Cannon makes it easier, but man I'm Sir Frags-a-lot with that thing.

The Flak cannon is dope. Recently I picked up the Rage expansion and really enjoyed the nail gun. When I play Rage again, ill get it much sooner so I can use it throughout the game and that should be quite a bit of fun.
BFG is a pretty epic gun too but the Flak will be my goto gun when I play any version of Unreal Tournament.
When I first moved into an apartment with room mates we use to play a lot of Unreal Tournament. The flak cannon was always a favorite!
I was also a big fan of the shock rifle (is that the right name)? It was the one where you could fire off a orb of energy, then blast it with another shot to make it explode.
ConcernedApe just posted a pretty lengthy update about changes he recently made to the upcoming, Stardew Valley.
"Iâve been doing a big âmonth and a half of graphicsâ, and Iâm finally about done with it. A lot of what Iâve been doing has involved redrawing or touching up older sprites that I wasnât happy with. The old stuff was passable, but I am so much happier with the new, and I think it really does help breathe life into the valley. Itâs funny how a seemingly trivial graphical detail can excite the imagination and evoke a sudden thrill, drawing you into the game world on a much deeper level."

No word on when this game will be released, but when the news drops I will let you know.
Happy Star Wars day everyone! I know its fairly cliche to say, but I really do have an unironic love for Star Wars. I hope that on this, one of the most sacred days in Geekdom you can do something Star Warsy and awesome.
Some ideas(not ordered for practicality):
Go to Antartica with a friend. One of you should partially freeze and then the other one can stuff the other one in a Polar Bear for warmth. This may be dangerous, so consult a wildlife specialist before you begin.

Happy LIFE DAY... oh wait, er.

If you are in an armed hostile situation where a local bounty hunter is trying to take you in to the local crime boss ONLY shoot at him after he nearly shoots you in the face. Pre-emptively acting here would upset the elderly and the very boring.
Kiss your sister.
Punch Jar Jar Binks in the face.
Go to your local desert and look for droids. Stop when you see a walking golden man that is extremely fussy and ill tempered with a vacuum cleaner.
OR checkout the latest Steam Sale where they bundle up all the PC Star Wars games for $50. You know, whichever you prefer.
I did my duty. Went to a Star Wars themed baby shower. There were pretzels dipped in colored white chocolate with aluminum foil on one end to make light sabers. Dark side chips (the black corn chips), Popcorn Amidala (just a bowl of popcorn with a label), etc.
It was loads of fun. I love that my wife's family is full of geeks and think this is a perfectly awesome thing to do for a baby shower.
I have been that SCV so many times. Build a Barracks and look back to find the base being over run by Protoss. So lonely.

Blizzard opened PS3 Diablo III pre-orders with a wearable helmet that allows you an XP boost. This is only available to PS3 owners and not transferable to your PC game.
"Wearable at level 1, the Infernal Helm confers a +EXP bonus to help you whip your new PlayStation characters into tip-top shape. Plus, it looks sweet as hell (pun intended) on all five mortal heroes of SanctuaryâWitch Doctor, Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Wizard, and Monk. Keep in mind that the redeemable key for the Infernal Helm, which you will find in your preordered copy of Diablo III on launch day, will apply to all of your PS3 characters, but will not transfer to any PC characters."

I am really interested in playing the PS3 copy as it will allow offline single player and looks like it works pretty well using the PS3 controller. Are you going to pickup Diablo III on the PS3? If you haven't played it on the PC this might be a good way to check it out.
I want to play a demo first. It sounds awesome to be able to play the game with a controller, but I'm not sure how things translate.
I also have two level 60 characters in D3 on PC which I wouldn't want to lose by switching to another platform. Since I'm already established on PC I imagine that's where I'll stay. But I would like to see what it has to offer on PS3.

Yep, I totally agree. I might pick it up at some point though on sale perhaps. Well see.

Fez is now available on Steam, GOG and the Humble Store. Very interested in picking this up and trying it out. Are you interested in picking up Fez and if you have, how does it play on Windows?
The creator of Fez recommends you pick the game up on the Humble Store as they get more of a cut that way. Humble Store buy comes with a Steam key too, so win/win.

OK, Humble Store it is! I wish it had more platforms, but maybe soon. I definitely plan on picking this up this weekend.

Me too. I have been so busy this week haven't had time to get Fez much less play it! I imagine it will be ported to Mac and Linux soonish am just dropped it on PC soon.
It crashed a couple times right at the beginning, when you get your fez. I have a Radeon card. I'll give it a try with lower resolution, see if that helps.
So yeah this game is a bit buggy. I haven't had the launch crash, but it has other problems-- crashing frequently for no apparent reason, stuck animations that require restarting the game to get them moving, etc. I think I'm going to give them some time to work those bugs out first. It's too frustrating.

This game has little history with bugs, so I'm not completely disappointed. They did this on the Xbox, and were good about fixing the bugs, eventually. Granted, it should be in a lot better shape than this at the onset, but it is only two guys developing.

True, but its been out for a bit now. But, it seems waiting might be a good thing here.
Anthony Burch, whether intentionally or accidentally, tweeted this picture of a guy sleeping at Gearbox earlier today. It was quickly removed, but some fast people snagged it before it was taken down. See that in the background? Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep.
In the teaser earlier this year, we saw Tiny Tina leading the vault hunters in a D&D style game, and this looks to fit with the theme. There are already theories on what "Dragon's Keep" might be, some even going so far to propose that this is the title she gave to the Hyperion Moon Base.

Yeah, this is pretty funny. But at least we know what it is now. And yeah, this looks pretty cool.

I have to wonder if they announced it today just because of the accidental tweet. I'd come up with some conspiracy theory about the tweet and subsequent removal being intentional if it weren't announced only hours later.
That could be. But they also get nearly every game site talking about the next BL2 expansion regularly. Not to say this couldn't be some attempt in that direction.
Either case, BL2 DLC! I wonder, is this the last BL2 DLC we will see now?

New issue of the Starbound Chronicle has dropped that covers some interesting game bits. They cover how your player race choice effects your ship layout and feel.
"Each of our races are pretty distinct from one another, and of course their ships should reflect that! From the wildly overgrown design of Floran ships to the cold ultramodern vessels of the Apex, the unique design of each starter ship may give players reason to reconsider their character choice!"
The issue also covers a few new tracks by Curtis Schweitzer and Solatrus and how to nab them for your collection.
