Its no secret I am very excited about Starbound. After pre-ordering the game and tearing through the score a few times, I decided to reach out to Curtis Schweitzer, one of the Starbound composers. This interview to date, has been one of the most fun things I have done and I am very happy with how it turned out. I wish Curtis, Solatrus & Chucklefish to a speedy 1.0!

jdodson: Could you describe how the process has been working with Chucklefish on Starbound to this point? What did they say when they approached you initially and what was your reaction to it all?

Curtis: This has been a really amazing experience, and the folks at Chucklefish have been fantastic. I... Read All

As I posted earlier I recently came across this game and though it looked pretty darn awesome. So awesome, in fact, that I reached out to the developers to see if they would be so kind as to answer a few questions for us in the form of one of our CheerfulGhost interviews. They have agreed and so I wanted to see if you fellow Mirthful Spirits had any questions you'd like me to add to the interview. Post 'em in the comments and I'll pick out the best ones to include with the interview. :)

Got a few minutes? Try this out when you get a chance. It requires the Unity Web Player. Definitely worth trying out if for nothing but the intro. You'll see what I mean.

In just a few weeks, Chucklefish has sold over a million bucks in preorders.

An indie game that very few people have actually gotten to play has generated this amount of interest just through videos and screenshots. At the risk of sounding cliche, this is a testament to what the indie gaming scene can do, and to what highly creative ideas can accomplish.

The title says it all, so I don't have much else to say except WHY DON'T I HAVE THIS GAME YET!?

Super Mario Bros. Crossover is getting a new version soon. There was a sequel to Super Mario Bros. released for the Sharp X1 computer in 1986. This new version adds those levels to the game. In addition, it adds more settings and music to the game, to make the levels look like they would have if they were in SMB2, 3, Super Mario World, Zelda, Castlevania, the list goes on.

The original Super Mario Bros. Crossover took the internet by storm a few years back when the creator, Jay Pavlina, posted a Let's Play of him playing the game. His humor got people watching the video, which made people want to play the game. You can see that here if you haven't. And if you haven't,... Read All

"Miiverse is a service accessible via Nintendo's Wii U game console that lets you communicate with other players from around the world."

Miiverse is the Wii U community for sharing content. Its interesting because it recently became available from any-ol browser. Its really cool to look through the content people have posted and so far seems to be user created fan art.

A few cool communities I have enjoyed:

Super Mario World: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/warawara/14866558073024996828

The Legend of Zelda Series: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/warawara/14866558073007174237

Its awesome to see Nintendo opening up its systems to a broader web.
