Got a few minutes? Try this out when you get a chance. It requires the Unity Web Player. Definitely worth trying out if for nothing but the intro. You'll see what I mean.

Interested to see where they take this in the full game. I hope there are more interactions with the 'Relics' system. Could do without the abstract platforming, though the puzzle systems involved there are pretty cool. The sound, at least in the Relics screens, is my favorite.
Ever watch the anime Blame!?

@Travis: Ya, I got a lost a bit, but there does actually seem to be some puzzle elements hidden somewhere in the noise.
@scrypt: I like it for the atmosphere. Just the console in the beginning was worth the price of admission.

In just a few weeks, Chucklefish has sold over a million bucks in preorders.
An indie game that very few people have actually gotten to play has generated this amount of interest just through videos and screenshots. At the risk of sounding cliche, this is a testament to what the indie gaming scene can do, and to what highly creative ideas can accomplish.
The title says it all, so I don't have much else to say except WHY DON'T I HAVE THIS GAME YET!?

This is so freaking awesome. Pets will be cool. Haven't seen any other pre-order goals crop up. Wonder if they are done with the pre-order bonus train :D

Super Mario Bros. Crossover is getting a new version soon. There was a sequel to Super Mario Bros. released for the Sharp X1 computer in 1986. This new version adds those levels to the game. In addition, it adds more settings and music to the game, to make the levels look like they would have if they were in SMB2, 3, Super Mario World, Zelda, Castlevania, the list goes on.
The original Super Mario Bros. Crossover took the internet by storm a few years back when the creator, Jay Pavlina, posted a Let's Play of him playing the game. Be warned, the language is vulgar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZGIIkDkJP3U
The game is now in version 2.0, which has more settings and characters, but 3.0 seems to take it to the next level. Pun intended.
Jay Pavlina and the crew at Exploding Rabbit are also making an "original" game called Super Retro Squad. It was successfully funded on Kickstarter last year. I say "original" because it's based on SMBC, with characters like Manni and Lanzo, two German Miners who find themselves in the Asparagus Kingdom and have to save Princess Apricot. It's obviously staying true to the roots of the characters in SMBC, but this gives them the ability to actually make some money off of their work. From what I've read, development is going to kick into gear after SMBC 3.0 launches. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/explodingrabbit/super-retro-squad
"Miiverse is a service accessible via Nintendo's Wii U game console that lets you communicate with other players from around the world."
Miiverse is the Wii U community for sharing content. Its interesting because it recently became available from any-ol browser. Its really cool to look through the content people have posted and so far seems to be user created fan art.
Its awesome to see Nintendo opening up its systems to a broader web.

Starbound is currently hovering at $979k of pre-orders. If the number tips to a cool million the pets goal will be unlocked. Tiy and team have been posting some awesome updates lately and as such, needed to share them with you... Because. I have to.
In the past few days they have dropped some awesome pictures of a new monster and Castle design.
But they posted some super-radery this morning in the form of two Twitch.tv videos. The first one is a game starting from the character creator taking the player to a few planets and it stops in a cave. The Twitch quality isn't great, but what is shown looks fantastic.

If you haven't, I recommend you pre-order this jam. Its only $15 and you get a Steam key when the game ships PLUS access to the beta when that is available.
Zac Gorman, the one man wrecking-crew behind the awesome Magical Game Time series released a new web comic "Escape from Burger Town." Very cool and worth checking out. I really enjoy Gorman's style, even if I don't always know what he is trying to say with a given strip. Art need not be accessible to be compelling.

"Set on Planet Gomi, A.N.N.E. is a Metroidvania-style platformer with a unique focus on open exploration. So many places to go! So many things to see!
High level enemies are blocking your path, are you skilled enough to take them on now, or will you venture down a less risky path and come back later?"
After watching the Kickstarter video for A.N.N.E. my first thought is that this game looks heavily inspired by Blaster Master, a NES game I __LOVED__. Blaster Master lacked a save feature so when I borrowed it from my friends I could never beat it in one sitting. That said, Blaster Master was awesome as you had a badass tank that you explored the overworld in and then had to get out and walk around on foot. A.N.N.E. looks to be that game style ratcheted up a few notches and adds in absolutely beautiful graphics. Oh right and it is also an open world RPG too.
The Kickstarter is really aiming at people that loved the Super Nintendo era as starting at the $15 backing level you get a PDF SNES styled instruction booklet. At $75 you get a SNES cart reproduction, box and SNES styled booklet go higher and there is an A.N.N.E. styled SNES USB controller. The Kickstarter rewards get even more sick so you really need to check them out.
Oh and do the Greenlight upvoting thing too, this needs to come to Steam.
"The first team invited to The International are the returning champions, Invictus Gaming. Twelve more teams will be announced over the coming days. Just like in last yearâs event, the winners of the East and West Qualifiers will each receive an invite. As youâve probably noticed, that only adds to 15 teams. Right before The International begins, the Wild Card event will determine the final spot in a match between the runner-ups of each qualifier.
The West Qualifier will be hosted by GDStudio from May 13th through the 19th and the East Qualifier by BeyondTheSummit from May 20th through the 26th. All matches will also be available for free through DotaTV."

I am SERIOUSLY interested in watching this event. Since I don't watch Basketball or more traditional sports, this peaks my interest. During PAX Prime 2012 I really enjoyed watching the League of Legends tournament a lot. It really peaked my interested in eSports and since I <3 DoTA 2 I am naturally very interested. Ill be watching the matches on DotaTV for certain but I am seriously considering attending the final matches in Seattle.
Do these kind of eSports events interest you? Will you be watching the DoTA 2 International this year?
Having played DOTA 2, this doesn't interest me at all. It's not all eSports, I've enjoyed watching other tournaments in the past, I even spent far more time than I'd care to admit watching MtG tournaments, but I'll pass on this.
I find it interesting that this game is still in beta and they have championships already.
There were many awesome games. Very worth watching if at all interested in esports. this is the event that changes the meta of public DOTA games for the rest of the year.
Teams really step up their games. And pull out all their tricks. I guess 2.5 million bucks worth of prizes is a big deal.
DOTA might have been in beta. But it is more stable than most other competitive games. I dont think it had anything to do with the quality of the game. Or bugs. I think it was a marketing decision.

Yeah, I didn't get to watch the DoTA 2 international this year. And yeah, I think one big reason teams step up the game is the prize money, its nice to see that kind of cash come to e-sports.
It's still available to be viewed AFAIK (easily on youtube). And I've been watching dota2 or MTG tournaments/matches at work for the last couple months. Both are fun to watch and both have good broadcasters.

I got past the intro and through the first... thing. But then it just seemed to be infinitely repeating stuff with no rhyme or reason.
Crazy. Fascinatingly crazy. I love it.
