Link's will make his Awakening very real on September 20th on Nintendo Switch!
Please let me know in the comments if you plan on playing this on launch and if you...

Thereās simultaneously a lot to unpack and not much at the same time.
Is that the first time weāve ever seen saber throw and return in live action?
That city theyāre looking out over looks amazing and I canāt wait to see more of it.
So the red dual saber is absolutely incredible looking. But to finish the series with dark Rey doesnāt make a lot of sense, and they donāt have a lot of time to turn her and turn her back. So Iām betting this is some dark side force trick or a vision (like you mention) or her long lost twin, or clone, or something. That saber seems way too badass to just be used in a vision though.
Holy shit!
Thatās really all that needs to be said, right?
Yeah! I saw something about "Dark Rey," but didn't see the video until this post. Of course this video just makes us (or at least me) ask more questions, like WTF is up w/ Rey and the dual red light saber, that's a rare weapon in Star Wars and I've never seen one open up like hers did. Red is also primarily the color that the Sith use, because they use fabricated crystals and they make them "bleed." So, does Rey turn to the Dark Side? Does Darth Sidious inhabit Rey in order to come back? And then there's still unanswered questions, like who are Rey's parents? Is she a clone? I saw some where that someone (I think the actress who plays Rey) said that the answer to who her parents are is obvious, but I still feel clueless about that. It was said they were nobodies, but were they really? We do see Rey and Kylo Ren dueling and she has a non-red light saber. So WTF is going on? I guess we'll just have to wait until December to find out.
I really like the idea of Rey with a lightsaber staff (a lightstaff?), since she used a staff back when she was a scavenger. But, I really don't see her going to the dark side completely. She might start turning (under force ghost Darth Sidius's influence), but eventually she'll be swayed back to either the light side, or some sort of grey-middle ground. Likely Kylo Ren will see the error in his ways and be the force that brings her back from the dark side.
No matter what, this is an opening day movie for me!
Adam brings up a good point about the grey-middle ground. I've watched a lot of Star Wars videos on YouTube and supposedly we might see more of that grey area. There are grey Jedi, I believe.
I don't think Rey would go completely to the Dark Side on her own, although Sidius might make her go that way. It's possible she's a clone he created to help give him eternal life. I think I saw at least one theory on that and how Sidius will or could return.
I also forgot about C3PO! Why are his eyes red? Did he join the Dark Side? I did see a video about how he may have been Darth Vader's spy the whole time, even though he probably didn't know it. Also, how come he had a red arm and now he doesn't? I wonder what the story is with that.
Interesting stuff!
Listen to this song! It's all about the "dark side of Rey!!!!!" HAHAHAHA https://youtu.be/PYtAU06rvBU
I think we will find out that Rey is a Vulcan from the planet Ork
There are no gray Jedi in canon. There were some in legends, but the current story group seems to dislike that idea.
I think Willās idea is perfect. Nanu Nanu and Prosper!
Also you can find out about C3POās red arm in a comic about him, and he got his gold arm back by the end of The Force Awakens. Presumably he was just waiting for a replacement protocol droid arm.
What is that isnāt C3PO, but rather Triple Zero?
Wrong body color but Iāve seen some theories that itās triple zeroās ābrainā inside C3PO. Which, if we get Triple Zero dialogue delivered by Anthony Daniels, the rest movie could literally be all the characters kicking rocks and it would be a net positive.
Most likely a pissed off C3P0. THIS TIME HE'S GONE ROGUE-ONE... or ANGRY!
For the anyone who didn't know who triple zero was (me).
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/0-0-0
Wow I didn't know who Triple Zero was, thanks for the link Jon! I'd have to watch the video again, but the eyes make me think that that is Triple Zero. Yeah, he had a different body color than C3PO, he was dark silver, but it says, "Aphra, BT-1 and 0-0-0 moved to Vrogas Vas, where Vader and Skywalker had both crashed their ships after a dogfight. While Vader faced an army of Rebels alone, Aphra attempted to capture Skywalker. In order to do this, she painted 0-0-0 with a golden luster to make him look like Luke's protocol droid, C-3PO." So, could it be Triple Zero or did C-3PO get new eyes?
The ending will be Rey as Sith and C3PO as Triple Zero.
Here's a good break down from a channel I recently found (and watched break downs of other movies): https://youtu.be/Iv-5_cy0ctg
Still, "The Rise of Skywalker," who is that Skywalker? Or are they using it as a general term? I saw some where that Skywalker was a common name in the Star Wars universe like Smith is in ours.
December is looking good so far! :)
The new canon is pretty clear that Skywalker is a unique name, the old canon couldnāt keep it straight. But itās something people have pondered over the years because itās kinda dumb to give Luke that name.
https://www.quora.com/Was-Skywalker-a-common-surname-in-the-Star-Wars-universe-If-not-then-why-didn%E2%80%99t-they-give-Luke-a-different-last-name-to-help-hide-his-true-identity
Triple Zero was painted at one point but didnāt remain so. It could be anything but one thing people (me) who want all these expanded characters to show up donāt take into account is the time to explain things. I desperately want Ahsoka to show in a movie for instance, but how do you introduce a character like that to the live action movies without breaking the narrative flow for a bit of a long explanation of who she is? Trip kinda falls into that a bit too. Still more possible than a huge character like Ahsoka but this is a character that is important to comic fans and nobody else, and explaining his relation to the whole narrative would take some time.
I still want it though. š
I'd like to see her, too. I saw her in The Clone Wars.
Yeah, sheās literally my favorite Star Wars character. More than Luke, Han, Rey, Anakin. It feels weird saying that as a 37 year old but her character development went to some crazy places and we were along for the ride and man... I felt that. When she showed up in Rebels I was elated. I canāt wait to see where Filoni takes her next.
I had questions about her. I knew she left the Jedi Order and I wondered if she every met Darth Vader. I decided to look for her on the wiki Jon shared and I got my answers. The wiki page is very long, so I don't know that I'll read all of it right now. But, wow! I remember (from The Clone Wars) now why she left the Jedi Order, though I forgot about it. She died once, but was brought back to life by someone else's sacrifice. She met Darth Vader and it seems she died then, too, but someone went back in time and rescued her.
I actually have a Disney Infinity figure of her really close to me. Vinny got her and some others for that game, but hasn't played it in a while. I do like her, although I don't think I can really rank my favorites among Star Wars characters.
I must admit again that all this talk of Star Wars has seriously peaked my interest in it. I feel like I've become a bigger fan of Star Wars in the last few weeks than I ever have been. I never really considered myself a big fan. I liked it, but wasn't really very passionate about it, but recently that passion has exploded. I actually didn't see the original trilogy until I was in high school. And, again, oddly enough I actually like the prequelogy and Jar Jar.
Forgive me for going slightly off specific topic here. :)
I am there. I hope another trailer drops before the 12th. I want to see more of the actual story.
Quite interesting as I have recently watched a lot about Star Wars lore on YouTube. I thought this was supposed to be a Boba Fett show, I wonder why they chose another Mandelorian (assuming it isn't him). I think I saw something that he didn't actually die in the desert in the original trilogy.
You speak of Darth Maul and I kind of don't want to give away spoilers, but he's not dead either, or at least he didn't die in the prequelogy (I think I just made up a new word). You see this in The Clone Wars animated show, which was pretty good, I think. I think that show also gives you some good ideas about the Mandelorians and the clone troopers (they're based on Jango).
What media outlet will this show be one? Netflix? Amazon? Hulu? Either way, I don't really watch any kind of TV anymore, so I'll probably miss out on it (even though there are other things I've missed out on that I think I'd like to see).
Still, again, I've been seriously geeking out on some Star Wars stuff lately! I think it's making me a bigger fan of the series. I didn't dislike the prequelogy as many others seem to have. I also don't hate Jar Jar. From what I can see, I like what Disney is doing, if nothing else just creating more Star Wars media to watch, which I think is great!
Oh! Disney +! I read something about that. Anyway here's some news articles I just found.

I'm looking forward to IG-88 most of all lol.
One thing I'm wondering about is why Disney is being secretive about who The Mandalorian is. If the first episode comes out, and The Mandalorian takes off his helmet, or says he/she's part of the Fett family right away, then it'll seem like Disney was being secretive for no reason other than hype.
But, I'd The Mandalorian's identity is kept secret during the show, the secrecy will feel more earned.
This isn't really a show I'm super interested in, but my wife will be subscribing to Disney+ the day it's available (and I can't wait for all the Marvel content), so I'll eventually watch this show as well.
IG-11* apparently lol
Yeah I'm way in on this. The canon on Boba Fett is way weird, Jango may or may not have ever been a Mandalorian at all, and just stole the armor, and Boba's armor seems to have been coughed up by the sarlaac and is being sold in one of the Aftermath books. BUT there's still room to spin it all as Boba somehow getting out and tracking down another set of Mandalorian armor but I hope they don't. Just leave that be. I want some Star Wars with new characters.
As for Maul: The Mandalorian takes place after Rebels, after RotJ even, so this can't have Maul in it. Maybe his syndicate is still around and can be there (and I'd love that). And the way the new Lucasfilm works, EVERYTHING is canon, and there are no levels of canon, just a group of people tasked to make sure canon doesn't clash at all, so Maul wouldn't show up and face off against Obi-Wan in his series because he didn't know where Obi-Wan was until a day or so before Obi-Wan killed him, which happened pretty dang near the start of Episode IV, a while after the Obi-Wan series. He may be on the planet but away from Obi-Wan somehow. I suppose Obi-Wan could know Maul was there but not the other way around. BUT again, I'm hoping for Qi'Ra and the syndicate, even if we definitely won't get that face off between Maul and Obi-Wan.
Right, good point thanks Travis. Maul with the Obi-Wan show?
Not sure what you're asking there.
There is a new Disney+ show coming out starring Obi-Wan. Darth Maul might be part of that.
Oh, I already covered that in the comment above. The timeline doesnāt match up for him to be involved much.
Hmmmmmm. Unless the end of the show runs right up to Episode IV?
It doesnāt, theyāve said it takes place between the prologue of Solo and the rest of Solo, so itās a while before that.
Though if it runs for a few years they may expand that I guess, and they could do a live action version of the Duel from Rebels to have the two series overlap, but it would only take up a single episode.
Plus, that part of Maulās life, heād left the crime syndicate behind basically, and had become obsessed with revenge and sith lore.
Thanks Travis, at least I now know what it won't be
I mean anything is possible, Star Wars is technically a part of Marvel and the snap could have messed with that reality too, right?
Second trailer! https://youtu.be/TKoXWsGsvxU
Wow, this looks incredible. I've heard the reason why Disney isn't sending out press screeners is because there is a pretty big spoiler in the first episode.
Just a reminder, if I hadn't accidentally fought the Wyvern nude, I'd have the first kill, not Tim lol
(No, I'm never gonna let that go ;) )
Just a thought about how to let people know about updates. I like the thought of putting a link in the new day screen. But a couple thoughts about that:
It has to be obviously different text. I never read the new day screen, but I glance at it to see my bank interest lol. If there's a message you want me to see, it has to jump out at me.
Also, leave the announcement up for a few days, in case someone doesn't log into the game as much as some of us do lol
1) There's a typo in my name here, it's missing the second g. No big deal, really.
2) "If you are fully healed the healing event no longer shows up." Thank you! I pretty much always heal when I lose HP, so this encounter pretty much never did me any good, just wasted one of my forest fights.
3) Thanks for the NPC stuff, too. I like how each gives you a different bonus.
Maybe Primrose Park could have adventurers play different playground games with the town children as an additional npc interaction.
GregoPeck, I too am glad the healing event changed as I was just about always healed when I hit it.
Level 7 is kicking my ass.
> Maybe Primrose Park could have adventurers play different playground games with the town children as an additional npc interaction.
I like that idea a lot, i'm going to think about how we might be able to do that.
> Level 7 is kicking my ass.
Yeah that level is supposed to be a steep challenge. I just hit 10 and got wrecked in the forest
Thanks for the feedback Adam, I'm not sure I have the best solution in mind but the simplest thing we can do is put a link there at the bottom and people can click it if they want.
We can do it if there is new stuff but, and it's not hard but an elegant approach on how to do that hasn't come to me yet.
As I said in the episode, I think some people want to know of new stuff and some people don't care so I'm not sure doing much more than making the link easier to find is a big deal if people want to just click through to play the game.
My laptop has an RTX in it. Not sure what frame rate I will get with this, but if it comes in the java version, I will give it a go.
I'm jealous! I imagine since you have an RTX GPU, you'll probably get a decent fps. I managed to get a lot of fps for the Quake 2 RTX version, especially when I was in a dark place and also when I played it on lower settings. I don't have an RTX GPU, I have a GTX 1660Ti.
Fair warning: The Minecraft RTX beta is out, but unless you have an RTX 2060 or above, don't bother wasting your time. If you do not meet this minimum system requirement, the game will not allow you to enable the related features. This is a departure from the Quake 2 RTX version, where it required a RTX 2060 or better, but you could still run it, even if your FPS was horrible.
I tried a little bit of this the other day and thought it looked ok. I need to dig into it a little more.
I watched a benchmark video, you (or anyone else) can check it out here if you want: https://youtu.be/LWBnLPlxVhg
I was thinking about writing about this when I saw it a while ago. I thought about asking if you were going to do that. Again, I think you do a better job. Your bullet points make the post look good. Maybe I should take some inspiration, or maybe I shouldn't be a copy cat.
Are you going to play this again? I'm not sure, myself. I don't actually have it installed on my SSD yet, so I'd pretty much have to redownload it (I don't want to run my games off of the HDD).
FYI you can keep games downloaded and move them between your HDD and SSD. But I donāt think youād run into much of a hitch running this one from the HDD. Itās the same few textures just arranged in interesting ways programmatically so thereās less taxing on the hard drive and more on the CPU to build the world.
I have tried it on both and it only improves loading by a couple seconds so I let it live on the HDD.
But yeah Iām going to try some of the new things out. Not sure if Iāll make a new game or not. Depending on how good the VR is (and how sick it makes me) I may finally properly play my PS4 copy.
I kept many of my installed games where they were on the HDD. I copied some over, that I wanted installed on the SSD. Unfortunately, Steam still re-downloaded the games that I moved over. It's ok though. Yeah, I know how to run games from a second folder.
You have VR? I'd be interested in how that works, looks, or plays. I have VR ready hardware, except for the headset. I'm not sure when I might get into VR, but it's not really a priority for me right. I'm still waiting for reality to bring us the Holodeck from Star Trek. I think that could be the end of society as we know it though. LOL
Do you think you'll write more about this update after playing it some? I pretty much always start a new game, I've never made it to the center. I'm not sure whether or not I want to jump back in the game right now. I did watch a video of Sean Murray talk about this update and how it basically includes three main features. He was smiling the whole time he talked about it, which I thought was cool. Here's a link to that: https://youtu.be/zAo7b4HjtjQ
That's weird, it should just move it right over. Oh well. I guess you could do the manual...
1. Rename the folder
2. Tell steam to uninstall it
3. Tell Steam to install it
4. Stop the install
5. Move that folder to the new location
6. Start the install
It should just reverify if you do that, I did that a few times before they implemented the ability to change it.
And yeah PSVR is pretty neat. Very cheap way to get into VR. It's not as good as the Vive I wouldn't imagine but it's great for what it is.
I may or may not write more, kinda depends on how neat it is.
When I installed the SSD, I put Windows on it and made it my primary drive. I want the SSD to contain my regularly used files (like games and apps), and the HDD to be my back up or storage space (for other files like docs and stuff). I created a fresh install of Windows on the SSD and so I had to install everything else fresh as well. So, Steam did not see that any games were installed (because they weren't). I tried copying game directories from the HDD to the SSD. It seemed like Steam was verifying the files, but still downloaded them anyway. I'm really not even sure that I'm noticing a difference in game load times with the SSD. The SSD definitely makes Windows boot incredibly faster. Maybe I did something wrong with how I tried to install games to the SSD and maybe I'll pay more attention to that in the future. The SSD is a bit limited, so I don't really want to install a bunch of stuff on it. I'd still like to install games on it just to see if there's any performance/loading differences. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. :)
Back to NMS, I'm just not sure I feel like jumping in it again. I feel like I've been through the beginning quite a few times and don't necessarily want to repeat it, although I always want to start out fresh with a new update. Perhaps with this new update I'll enjoy it more. The last time I played, I got stuck on a mission and pretty much gave up.
Oh! That makes more sense now. Yeah some games will have a big difference, some not so much. Fallout 76 seemed to load about 10 seconds faster on SSD.
And yeah, thatās kinda why I havenāt started over with each update, Iāve already put so much into it.
I wish my computer could handle the game! I bought it launch day and dealt with *all* the issues/bugs/crashes, and still thought it was pretty incredible. But it was missing so much that I expected it to have. Watching all these updates the past few years has made me super jealous!
...this is one of those games that the potential sucks me in so much, I might be willing to buy a PS4 and PSVR. (Although it likely would turn into yet another system that just sits there like both my Classics and Wii U lol)
Yeah Adam, I think theyāve gone well past what most expected it to have.
Going to be putting my PSVR to use tomorrow night on this. I'll be sure to report back on how it goes. :)
After 355 hours and almost a year after having played it, today I learned something about NMS. You can claim abandoned ships and keep your current ship! I saw this done by one of my favorite YouTubers, Paul Soares Jr.. I did a little Googling and it seems that there's a bug with this in that you have to put the inventory from your old ship into the new one and then you can claim the new one, for free, actually, I think. I don't know if that "bug" still exists, but it wasn't too long ago that people wrote about it. Do any of you have any experience with this?
Ok, so I tried it out, things are different. Why did it have to spawn me at a toxic and then a boiling planet? Uh. Yeah I started a new game three times. I don't intend to make note of all the changes I noticed here. I did get my star ship repaired, but I haven't taken off yet. One thing I do want to point out though is the GeForce Experience settings. They were telling me the game was already using optimal settings. I looked at the graphic/video options in game and the preset was on "Enhanced." I switched it to "Ultra" to see if I'd notice any difference, which I didn't. Travis did tell me once that you can't always trust the settings in GE. I think this may perhaps be due to a change in the game's settings and maybe GE didn't get updated. At least, that's what I think. I think the settings are different, but I could be wrong. What preset are you running with? Do you notice anything different between presets? If, so, what?
I never run with any preset, I fine tune it all, but Iāve got basically everything maxed with motion blur, chromatic aberration, and scanlines turned off so I donāt get motion sickness.
And yeah you can claim those found ships for free, since youāre finding them randomly thereās nobody to pay (though I think they added NPCs to some of these)
After reinstalling Windows again, I found out how to successfully move your games from the old Steam directory to the new directory without having to reinstall or redownload them. Since I wasn't doing a fully clean install, Windows created a Windows.old folder, which contained Steam in Program Files (x86). This is easy! Install Steam and then exit it. This creates a new Steam folder. Then copy (or move) all of the contents of the old Steam folder into the new one, open Steam, and everything's there! :) So, I just copied from C:\Windows.old\Program Files (x86)\Steam\ to C:\Windows\Program Files (x86)\Steam\. I tried to copy them over with Steam and Steam wasn't having it. Before, I had copied the individual game folders over and Steam still had to redownload and install them. This "new-to-me" method I discovered mostly on my own worked perfectly! I just thought I'd necro this a bit and add it here just FYI, in case some one here needs to use it.
I've been installing my games to an attached (on Windows) USB drive. This means game boots are slower but once i'm in things are fast. One upside is I don't have to reinstall everything when I reinstall or do something to Windows or move my games to a new PC.
Getting at launch and I have played and own the original gameboy version. I canāt remember if I have beat it though. It would have been a long time ago, if I have.
Getting it at launch, and I consider the original one of the top two Zelda games ever.
