Last year Cheerful Ghost published Starship Rubicon and I am really proud of that. Working alongside Wick to get the game launched, promoted and sold has been one of the more enjoyable things I've been part of. When I approached him about publishing his game, I had a fledgling idea of how to approach and in the end I believe we did well by the game and its fans. Together we've learned a lot: firstly, making an Indie game doesn't mean you make big money (because as of now we haven't made very much), and secondly, you need to be aware of what is out there that can potentially harm your game. One such thing that can chip away at the money you can make in the industry is... Read All

Someone posted a video on YouTube that captured 30 minutes of E3 floor footage from 1996. It shows off Nintendo's booth and people playing with the Nintendo 64, Mario Kart and Super Mario World as well as a couple games I don't recognize. I like that this video is free of any commentary and is simply just capturing the 96' E3 show floor, it's a nice change from the massive wall of video commentary we get from these events.

Lots of good footage out there now with gameplay from the new DLC pack coming for Star Wars Battlefront, which will focus on the cloud city of Bespin.

Okay. I own Star Wars Battlefront on the PS4. I picked it up on sale for $40, back in January (I think). I'll state, up front, that I really hate what EA is doing with the monetization of DLC for this game, but at the same time I really LOVE the attention to detail that is going into the game. The question becomes, "Is it worth the money?" That is really only something the market can decide. If consumers want what EA is doing with this game, then they will buy it. Plain and simple. To put it in perspective, The Legend... Read All

I know we don't have many PS4 owners here (apparently), and we don't super-love exclusive titles. However, if you DO own a PS4, and are looking for something...familiar, but very different, look at what developer Plastic is doing with their latest game, Bound. A kind-of-platformer/not-game, the experience in Bound seems to be centered around deep story development and mystery. The cool thing, though, is that the playable character movements are enacted in a balletic style. The only games that come to mind that execute player movement in the form of dance is P.N. 03 or Space Channel 5, to some degree (I'm sure there has to be others. Post them below if you think of... Funded in October 2015 on Kickstarter with over $850K in support, Battle Chasers: Nightwar is making beautiful, beautiful progress. This is the kind of game that should be getting a lot more attention than it is. Classic JRPG styled play set in the fantasy world of the Battle Chasers universe. Joe Madureira (renowned comic artist and creator of the Battle Chasers comics) and founding members of Vigil Games (responsible for the Darksiders series) joined to create a new studio, Airship Syndicate, located in Austin, TX. Gameplay was demoed at E3, showing off dungeon movement and the core combat system, which seems pretty straightforward turn-based play. That polish,... Read All

And this is what we're seeing for the most part!

It always happens like this for the first few hours, so it's best to give it a while.

This time around they've brought back the trading cards as a reward for going through your queue. Much like the most recent sales, every game that will be on sale is already on sale, for as low as it will go. There's no need to wait until the end to see if the game you want will get cheaper.

Is there anything you've been wanting to snag?

Recently my partner and I had a kid so I haven't had as much time to game as I usually do. That said, Hearthstone is a good game to play if you only have one hand free when the other one is consoling your crying baby. Sometimes I have to put the phone down for a second to readjust my hold with him but if I am sitting on the couch it works out really well. I'm also a Hearthstone free to play player so like many, I don't have every card available to me but enjoy playing constructed and like trying out the new meta decks. One such deck to emerge post Whispers of the Old Gods is Warlock Burst Zoo. Warlock has always been great with Zoo but it's stepped up a bit after WoTG... Read All

During E3 iD released a demo for the new Doom game that was only supposed to run for a limited time. Sometime afterward iD and Bethesda decided to extend it so if you haven't tried out the new Doom game, now is a good time. There isn't a firm demo end date and I hope they just leave it up indefinitely. A limited time demo is a far cry from Doom's Shareware roots but then again, we ain't dialing up to BBS's anymore. Which honestly is fairly sad as I always loved BBS's myself.

I had no idea I needed this in my life until now.

I might be biased due to my love of all things Star Trek, but this looks absolutely amazing. Unfortunately you need several VR headsets and computers powerful enough to use them with in order to play this so I doubt I will be playing this anytime soon. Still, this is pretty bad ass!
