The New Overwatch Video Short Is Incredible

Overwatch is Blizzards upcoming team arena shooter and even though it looks fun, it's not really something I was into. Overwatch will launch on PC, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One on May 24th and to help keep the hype alive Blizzard is releasing some longer form videos that slice out a bit from the Overwatch world. Doom 1994 VS Doom 2016

YouTuber Yangyugi cut up a video comparing the original 1994 Doom to the 2016 remake and it's pretty fun. Most of the same stuff can happen in both games but it's fairly obvious the new game is a remake of the old one. Which isn't a bad thing at all.

Automatron Trailer Hits As New DLC To Come March 22nd

The new trailer for Fallout 4's upcoming DLC Automatron is available and unveils more from this Pokemon styled Robot collector building pack. It also hints there may be some exclusive story content here as well even if light it would be welcomed. Interested to know whom will be playing this on launch day as I might not be but want to know more about how it plays.

Automatron will be available for download on PC, XBox and PS4 March 22.

Oh damn, that's in a week! That seems sooner than I expected although I'm not sure when I expected to see DLC. That does look cool. I wonder what the most effective weapon would be against them. There certainly seems like a great variety of robots! I might jump in and take a look at it, we'll see. I did order the Season Pass, so it will definitely be mine.

I can't remember if I decided not to get the Season Pass or if I decided to wait. I just know that later, I thought I got it, but I apparently didn't. So, I missed out on the special price, but I decided to go ahead and get it anyway. I spent a couple of days playing this new DLC and I pretty much finished it. There is still a mission left for me to do, though. I'm not sure if it's a radial mission, but I assume it is. I do like the new companion, Ada. I particularly like her because when Travis and I were in college together, our programming classes were based on that language, Ada. I enjoyed getting components to upgrade her using the new robotic crafting station. Although, I didn't have the required perks to give her many of the upgrades, so I missed out on some. I did change her paint to blue, though she was pretty much already blue. I think her default color was cyan or something else that's bluish.

Travis must be quite busy this semester. I'm surprised that we haven't heard anything from him regarding this new DLC. Oh and I was wondering what would be the most effective weapon against robots. Well, it seems that a shotgun is definitely a really good weapon against them. I seem to recall Travis mentioning something like that in another post.

I picked up the season pass. So far I haven't played any of it. I tried playing Fallout 4 the other day and for whatever reason, didn't continue. I hope I find the drive to finish the game as I really enjoyed up to the point I got.

I am not too high level but the shotguns have been a staple of my gameplay so far. The shells are easy enough to find and they pack a huge punch. I try and pick off smaller guys with the handgun but when things get crazy, out comes the shotgun. Recently(or when I was playing it) I got an automatic shotgun which does a bit less damage but can really rip out the shells.

Yeah, I regret the mistake I made of not getting it when I thought I had it and it was cheaper. I could have saved some money, obviously, but ah well, mistakes a part of life. Haha.

Yet again I'll repeat myself, pretty much, haha. I believe I have suffered from anxiety with this game, which makes playing it a bit frustrating. It easily and quickly overwhelmed me. There are a huge amount of weapons to choose from and tons of ways to modify them. Armor is pretty much the same, although I find it much easier to choose what to use. I pretty much stick with whatever's better than I have. The perk system also overwhelmed me and, like weapons, continues to do so. Now that I can make and modify robots, there are perks I need to get better mods for them. That goes with armor, too. I haven't really messed with weapon mods, though. I did go ahead and get the Armorer perk and I think I have it to level 2 now. Almost all of my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats are maxed, except for the last two. I'm still level 50-60ish. There's still a lot I can do in the game, which is good because I can get those other perks I need for mods.

Makes sense. For me I think it just wasn't clicking with me and I don't continue on if things aren't fun.

I've been buying it from vendors but I use the shotgun VERY sparingly.

Blizzard Patching Warcraft III and Diablo 2 For Modern Operating Systems

In the video above Robert Bridenbecker head of the classic games division of Blizzard has recently talked about an upcoming Warcraft III patch 1.27 coming March 15th. If it's anything like the recent Diablo 2 patch it should update the game for modern operating systems and fix some bugs and popular cheat programs.

It works really well on Mac, so far. I powered through to level 3 and it was smooth.

I don't know how to make it run windowed, though. The option isn't in there where you'd expect it to be. They haven't patched resolutions so you're still limited to 640x480 and 800x600 so in fullscreen it's skewed on widescreen monitors.

Nice thanks for letting me know. It should be easier to do the widescreen thing with War 3 than D2 as I believe the enemy patting and affronts keyed off what you see.

As of the last War 3 patch you can play it widescreen at least semi-natively with registry settings, so really it's just a matter of Blizz adding the menu options.

Ah, never mind. As of the latest patch, the widescreen resolutions are present in the menu already, so this upcoming patch won't have to worry about that.

OK reading more about it, it may still be stretching the image. I'm reading conflicting things about that. If so it doesn't look as bad as it does on Diablo II, perhaps because of the different way the isometric camera works.

Also, I wonder if Starcraft 1 will get this same treatment. I imagine they still have demand for it.

Yeah, you can stretch the image but 4x3 preserves the original aspect ratio, at least in the older version. I'll check this one.

It kind of bugs me to have the image stretched a bit so I keep it to 4x3.

OK so, trying out War 3 on Mac. Oddly, if you're in fullscreen it's going to stretch regardless, but if you're windowed you can't set the resolution. :/

Terraria Comes to Wii U and 3DS Very Soon!

I just wanted to let you know that our beloved game, Terraria, is coming to the Wii U and 3DS very soon. In fact, the 3DS version will be released on March 15th (in 5 days!) and the Wii U version on April 12th, according to Amazon. I have ordered both versions to give to my son, Vinny, for his birthday. He's stated interest in at least the 3DS version. Unfortunately, it seems the 3DS version is quite limited due to the surprisingly low specifications of the 3DS. So, my son's birthday was a few days ago and Terraria for the 3DS seems to be one of his favorite gifts. I also got him the Legend of Zelda Windwaker HD and Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U. He's enjoying all of them.

I found out that the 3DS version of Terraria saves your characters and worlds on your system and not on the game itself. This means, for example, my son can create characters and worlds in the game using his 3DS and I can do the same on mine. So, his stuff isn't on the game when I'm using my 3DS.

One of the things I took notice of when looking into the 3DS version is that the 3DS really isn't very powerful. However, the "New 3DS" has better hardware than the previous models. It seems that they *might* create a version of the game specifically for that 3DS model, but we'll just have to wait and see.

The Wii U version will be here in a couple of weeks, it seems. However, since I've now played the game on my Kindle, PS3, 3DS, and PC, I can say with certainty that the PC version is the ultimate one. Using the keyboard and mouse just makes everything better, to me, particularly switching between a tool and a weapon. I like using the touch screens to mine, although the mouse does a great job of that, too.

I may post later after I've tried the Wii U version. I expect it will be very much like the current console version, yet a combination of that, the mobile, and 3DS versions.

Hearthstone Dailies For Ghosts: Episode 5 All Dragon Priest All the Time

In this pre Hearthstone expansion announcement episode we grind daily quests with Dragon Priest. I go 2 for 3 and gain more gold for packs for the upcoming expansion. This is a really fun set of games as the people I go head to head with play with some fairly unique decks.
