Why don't they make a DotA mode for Diablo3? It would take about 2 seconds of coding, and about 3 months of balancing, but it could easily be done, and I'm sure it would be fun. Blizzard kind of invented DotA, I'm surprised they haven't done it yet.
Um... duh...

The kickstarter for Planetary Annihilation ended yesterday, and it was a huge success: They raised over $2,200,000 with a goal of only $900,000 dollars. The best part is that they announced everything that they will do with the extra money. There are new planet types, a full orchestral score, a making of documentary...
My personal favorite is that they're adding a Galaxy Meta-Game where each match you play has some effect on a giant war going on in a galaxy. Their vision is having clans battle it out over territory using individual matched games. It looks very fun.

This is my first kickstarter anything, but I hope to be sucked in like this again. It's fun feeling like you're in on the ground floor on something and you can watch it develop. I probably won't get my game until July of next year, but I'll be following its progress the whole time, waiting.
It's also nice getting a game made that the devs admit would never be published by a normal company. Kickstarter has enabled us gamers to get outside of the CoD-WoW-Halo-Skyrim Box (not that I didn't love those games, it's just that everything seems like a derivative of those these days).
Few RTS games are made, your right. Kinda wonder why, Starcraft 2 sold well... But that's a Bilzz game so...
I love the graphics in the stuff they have released so far. Plus it smacks of Unreal in that you can blow up planets and other awesome stuff that is less realistic and just plain fun to do.
This game looks amazing. I'm so glad they raised so much more money over their goal. Having the possibility of destroying your enemy with an asteroid makes me extremely over joyed. Not to mention I played total annihilation and its by far one of my favorite RTS games of all time, and this is a super upgraded version of it.

This is a game that I have enjoyed playing coop over the years. The thrill of hunting terrorists with a partner never seems to fail to enjoy me. I highly recommend this game to those who enjoy coop and FPS games.

Played through the first one. I miss the old tactical style Rainbow Six from back in the day, but I will admit that shooting bad guys in front of pretty neon lights is enjoyable.

A few sites in the game press have been privvy to early copies of Borderlands 2 so a few very positive reviews are hitting the web. Some bring some more definition to the game, IGN recently let loose some info about the bonus "Golden Chest" you get if you pre-order the game.
Snip:
"The chest will drop some very rare (purple) loot once open – loot that is scaled to your character, Gearbox says. So the potency of the loot within is dependent on the level of your character when you open it – and while we know how hard it is to not open a chest full of loot in a game where that is one of the primary goals, you may want to hold off as long as you can on this golden chest."
Well over time they've released a lot of PC info. First we know that PC will have PhysX. That allows for more particle effects and things like clothing tearing.
Very early on they listed a number of enhanced features that should be a testament as to what should be in ALL PC releases.
FOV slider 100% mouse usable menus/mouse wheel scrolling Remappable keybindings for keyboard/mouse PC-specific UI Native multiplayer matchmaking Push to talk Logitech keyboard support LAN support (including offline mode) Control pad support Integrated V-sync option Support for higher resolutions Mouse smoothing options (can be disabled completely) Cloud save support Achievement support Friends list support No port forwarding required
Deleted Comment because I'm dumb. Just saw the post jdodson made farther down that did indeed confirm that they had officially announced the mechromancer release date. Must have simply forgotten since I did already read that post.

Yep, yep. The PC version looks awesome. Not many publishers make the PC version that much better, so good on Gearbox!

Hello guys! I've been playing some more guild wars 2 and became interested in collecting the mini pet items that are in the game. My current collection is shown above. I have 6 of the 54 mini pets that are in the game. My current ones are:
I'm curious how many of you actually collect these mini pets. If you do collect them, feel free to list yours. Also, if you see any pets that you would like to trade for, go ahead and ask. Just make sure you have a good deal in mind.

On a side note, if any of you are looking for some people to play with, I am going to create a guild here shortly. I play on the Stormbluff Isle server, so if you do also and would like to play together, you can comment with your user name.
Grrr... I'm going to have to get this game. I love cosmetic useless collectables.

It's a great game. Plus, its one of the only mmorpg games that you don't have to pay monthly. It's just a one time fee.
Also, the mini pets can be purchased in 3 packs for real money, or you can buy them with in game gold/silver from other players. It makes it very easy to find the pets you want.

I forgot to say that you can also collect materials and other things in the game. The pets are just one of the many things you can collect. There are many different categories in the collectibles bank tab. Most of the other collectibles are things like all the ores and crafting materials in the game. It really makes collecting easy and fun with the whole separate menu dedicated to it. You can also just use it to store a lot of your items and since they go in specific slots, it is really easy to find them.

If you’ve been patiently waiting to try Path of Exile’s dark and customizable gameplay, now is your chance to check out the game - for one weekend only.
The game has been in Closed Beta since last August and we have been regularly adding new content, classes and skills. The latest patch adds new skills, more keystone passives, additional quest content, substantially improved minion functionality and introduces a new look for item hovers in-game.
The Open Weekend will include the first two acts of the game, our special end-game maps, Default and Hardcore leagues, six character classes, approximately 70 active skills, 40 support gems and hundreds of item types. We’ve added a host of unique items designed by Brother Laz, author of the popular Diablo 2 mod Median XL, and our ‘Diamond Supporter’ fans.
We will make the game servers public from 5pm on Friday 14 September Pacific Daylight Time until 11:59pm on Sunday. Over 55,000 people played during our last Open Weekend in July. Any feedback you provide this weekend will help us get ready for our permanent Open Beta.
I actually can comment on this. I have been in this beta for well over a year now. I play it from time to time to see how its getting better.
(I played more often towards the start but every huge update moves your older characters to an un-updated server)
The currency system is a godsend for f2p games and almost every f2p game should try to adopt this model. There is zero gold and the currency (real money) items are easily and frequently found throughout the game theyve even been generous enough to increase the drops a few times in the updates. It operates soley on trading.
Diablo 3 did the complete opposite; some of you may have differing opinions but integrating gold farming into the core mechanics of your economy IS TERRIBLE. PoE tries to weed it out completely.
The sheer amount of updates it pumps out I think is a testament to how hard their working on it and will continue to work on it after release. It can only get better. If you do happen to run into a beta key this is one you want to keep and eye on. This is how isometric rpgs should be.
Easter Egg for you Borderlands fans in the image.
That's a cool idea. They might do this when the PvP patch ships. Going outside what PvP is and doing more would be great, solidify the game and all.
Hahaha, I get the easter egg.
